Chapter Text
When Leo woke at five and didn’t see his husband beside him, he wasn’t concerned, figuring that Raphael was probably up early to bake or something. He got up and did his morning meditation with Splinter, however when Raphael wasn’t at breakfast and Leo saw that his phone was still on the bedside table, that’s when he became anxious. Raphael very rarely missed breakfast and always took his phone with him.
“Have any of you seen Raph?” Leo asked.
“Nope,” Donnie replied. “Not since yesterday and apart from his strange behavior of being nice all the time, he seemed fine. Why?”
“Same here. We went to bed and when I woke, he wasn’t there. That didn’t bug me, but him missing breakfast is unusual. I think something has happened to him.”
“Did he take his phone?”
“Nope.”
“Odd, but maybe he thought he wouldn’t be out long and didn’t need it.”
“I have told him to always take his phone.”
“No offense, Leo, but he doesn’t always listen to you.”
“I know. So, we can’t track his phone. What do we do?”
“We wait until it’s dark and then we go out looking for answers,” April said. “Try not to worry, Leo. Maybe he’ll return shortly and was unable to get home earlier.”
"But it’s daytime! People could see Raph and he could be captured by crazy scientists,” Leo said hysterically. “How am I supposed to be calm? Think how you’d feel if it were Donnie. You’d be climbing the walls.”
“Donnie wouldn’t be stupid to go out during the day,” April retorted. “He knows better. Leo, I know it’s hard, but we can’t do anything until this evening. Why don’t you go meditate or something in the meantime?”
“I’m going out to look for him,” Leo said as he pushed his chair back and then stood up.
“Leonardo, you will not,” Splinter said as he entered the kitchen. He’d heard the last part of the conversation. “It is too dangerous. We will look for Raphael when it is dark. Come with me. I will make you some tea and then we will meditate. A calm and clear mind will find solutions to a problem faster than a clouded one.”
“Yes, Dad,” Leo said as he and Splinter left the kitchen and then went to the dojo.

Leo thought about his mate as he got into the lotus position on the tatami mat in the dojo.
Where are you, Raph? Are you okay? Please come home. I love you so much. I’m going to try and contact you on the astral plane.
To his immense frustration, he was unable to make contact, but he vowed he would not stop trying and he would never rest util Raphael was home safe and in his arms.

Meanwhile, Karai and Raphael were basking in the afterglow of another few rounds of lovemaking. She trailed a hand down his plastron and gazed adoringly at her sleeping husband, who had one leg draped over her.
I love him so much. We belong together. Not him and Leonardo. I know he and I are going to Japan, but I worry that those pesky brothers of his will somehow track us down. I have to use his niceness to my advantage and eliminate that threat. I know. It’s evil, but it’ll work and even if he snaps out of everything, he’ll never leave me, because he’ll feel immense guilt at all he’s done and know he has nowhere else to go, especially if I’m pregnant. He’s honorable and would never leave his children.
Sensing her looking at him, Raphael opened his eyes and said, “Hi.”
“Hi, babe. You sleep okay?” Karai asked as she stroked his face.
“Yeah. You?”
“Like a baby. I'm so happy. All my life I’ve been miserable and then you came along and changed my world. Never leave me, Raphael. I would fall apart without you.”
“Why would I wanna? We're soulmates. You complete me.”
“We are. You really love me and would do anything for me, huh?”
“Course. Why?” Raphael asked as he gazed at her intently.
“We are leaving tonight at ten, but I want you to do me a favour before that.”
“Anything. Name it.”
“I know of this mutant family, who kill and harm everything in sight. The leader brutalized a friend of mine,” Karai said, choking back a sob as tears rolled down her cheeks. She had learned to cry at will from watching videos online when she had contemplated being an actress.
“I’m sorry, babe. So, what do you want me to do?” Raphael asked as he gently caressed her face.
“I want you to plant a bomb in the sewers near where they stay. I will give you directions.”
“But that’ll wipe them out,” Raphael said, his eyes wide in horror at the thought. “I know they’re bad, but is that really the answer?”
“YES!” Karai said in a tone so harsh he flinched. “It is the only answer and if you love me, you will do that, Raphael. If you don’t, you can leave right now. Choice is yours.”
Raphael weighed up his options. I can’t kill anyone. It’s wrong, whatever they did, but I don’t wanna lose her either. I love her with all my heart and wanna be with her forever. Oh, sewer apples. What do I do? Then an idea hit him. Maybe he could do as she asked with a twist and still keep her. She'd never know, would she?
“Well,” Karai demanded as she sat up.
“I’ll do it,” Raphael said. “They deserve no mercy.”
“Excellent decision,” Karai said as she climbed astride him. “You aren’t just a hunk of meat and sex on legs. You do have brains. I’m impressed.”
“Huh?” Raphael said and blinked in confusion.
“Nothing. Lie back and enjoy, Raphael. I’m going to ride you like a bronco. I love being dominant and I think you will have fun. Have you ever been ridden before?”
“No. I don’t think so. You were my first.”
“And your last. You will never have anyone else but me,” she said as she began to ride him.
Watching her boobs bobbing up as she rode him and seeing the love in her eyes for him, Raphael was transfixed and all he could focus on was the moment and how special she made him feel.
This gorgeous woman could have anyone, but she wants me. I am so lucky. I will do all I can to make her happy.
Karai leaned forward and said, “Always look at me, precious. If you don’t, it’s disrespectful and I’ll be mad. You don’t want that. Trust me.”
Raphael nodded and maintained his gaze.
Karai lay on Raphael, kissed him, gently and slowly moved and stroked his tail, making him churr loudly.
They rocked like that for a long time.
Raphael thought about his wife as he stared into her dark eyes. She is freaking amazing. I’m so grateful and blessed to have her. I will never take her for granted.
Karai bounced faster and harder, knowing it would soon send him over the edge.
“Argh!” Raphael cried as he shut his eyes and as pleasure coursed through him.
“I knew you’d love this,” Karai said and grinned impishly. “For someone who was always macho, you sure love being an uke, Raphael. Maybe that was just for show and your authentic self is a weak drip. I love it.”
“Huh?”
“Nothing,” she said and then slammed herself onto his dick. “Open your damn eyes and look at me.“
Raphael did as he was told and churred even louder as his pleasure intensified.
Karai wriggled and turned around so that her ass was in his face. Then she ground it against his face.
“I wanna cum,” Raphael said. “Ngh!”
“Not until I say so, Raphael,” Karai said firmly. “I’m in charge and you listen to me. Keep it in and lick my ass.”
Knowing it was fruitless to argue and too brainwashed and sweet to do so anyway, he licked her ass, which made her groan.
She turned around again, bounced harder and faster on his dick and played with his tail.
That dual stimulation finally sent him over the edge and he could no longer keep it in.
“Karai,” he yelled as he flooded her insides with his creamy, sticky and thick cum. “I love you!”
Karai came with a cry and threw her head back in ecstasy. They had mated successfully again and she had a feeling that she would soon be pregnant. She rode out the orgasm and then got off and lay down beside him.
Tugging him close, she said, “I love you too. You were magnificent, Raphael. I have no doubt we’ll soon be parents.”
“Hope so,” Raphael said breathlessly, coming down from his high. “Hey. I was wondering. How old am I?”
“You’re twenty-two. Why?”
“When I look in the mirror, I don’t think I look that old and looking at you, you gotta be mid-twenties at least."
“I’m not old!” she spat. “What the heck does that matter?”
“Because if you’re twenty-something and I'm not, we can’t be together yet. I’d be a minor and that's wrong."
“You’re fucking twenty-two. What reason would I have to lie?”
“Okay. If you say so, then I am that age. I mean, I know nothing about anything and you know best. Where did I come from?”
“I told you I rescued you from abusive people. Isn't my word good enough?”
“It’s not that. My mind feels like it’s, uh, blank, apart from knowledge of you. I just wonder about stuff."
“It’s the trauma, Raphael. You blocked it out after I rescued you. You were hated and hurt. I love you and am good to you. Isn’t that all that matters? Let the past be the past."
“Who hurt me?"
“Drop it, Raphael, or no nookie.”
“Yes, babe,” Raphael said and then closed his eyes.
Raphael thought about the conversation with his wife. Karai knows best. She wouldn’t lie to me. I should forget it and just focus on her. I will.

Later that day, Raphael donned a disguise and armed with a map to the lair and the bomb in his rucksack, he set off a little after 7:30. It was pitch dark and freezing and he tugged the coat closer to his chest to keep warm.
Raphael lifted the manhole cover, climbed down the ladder and then began the trek to the lair. He reached the entrance within forty minutes. Pressed for time, he quickly attached the bomb to a sewer pipe nearby and set the timer to go off in four hours' time. Then in block letters he penned a note and attached it to the pipe.
"These are the instructions to stop the bomb. I never wanted to do this and was forced."
His job done, Raphael ran through the sewers, climbed up the ladder and out into the crisp air and returned to Karai.
XXXX
“Were you successful?” Karai asked.
“Yep,” Raphael said. “They’ll soon be toast.”
“Well done, husband,” Karai said and then kissed him passionately. “I’m so proud of you. We’ll celebrate on the jet.”
Raphael thought about his actions as he returned the kiss. I feel guilty for lying to her, but I know I did the right thing. Vengeance is never the answer.

Leo, Donnie and April went home from looking for Raphael at 10 p.m., because April had twisted her ankle and Donnie wanted to check it over.
Hearing a ticking noise when they were almost home, Leo said, “What’s that?”
“Sounds like a clock,” Donnie said as he gazed around for the source of it. His eyes then landed on what looked like a bomb attached to a sewer pipe. “No. It’s a bomb.”
“A bomb?”
“Yeah,” April said when she saw it. “And there’s a note. Look. Weird. The person who set it up left instructions for us how to deactivate it. Why would they do that? It doesn’t make sense.”
“It does!” Leo and Donnie said in unison as they studied the note.
“Why?” April asked in confusion.
“Because both Donnie and I know that handwriting,” Leo said. “It’s Raph’s. He was here, set the bomb up and then hoping to save us, told us how to deactivate it. He’s alive and was forced to do that, because the people holding him knew that he wouldn’t disobey, because he couldn’t disobey even if he wanted to.”
“Yet, somehow he managed to fight it and disobeyed,” Donnie said as he deactivated the bomb. “We are lucky. If this had blown, we’ll all be in smithereens. We have so many enemies. We don’t even know where to start.”
“What about Karai?” April asked. “She freaked out when you and Raphael tied the knot, Leo.”
“Nah. She was hurt, but would never do that," Leo said. "She's not bitter. Look how kind she is to us. She hasn't even told Shredder where we stay and has helped us many times."
“A woman scorned and all, Leo," April said. "I’m telling you she has Raph and that she probably ordered him to kill us as twisted proof of her love or something.”
“You watch too many movies,” Leo said as he rolled his eyes. “Karai was mad, but she’ll get over it.”
“I’m with April,” Donnie said. “She’s got him. Every second we waste arguing means one more he’s with her and goodness knows what she’s making him do.”
“I can guess,” April said dryly. “Sick woman! And she's at least twenty-two! He's a kid!"
“I don’t wanna know!” Leo hissed, his stomach lurching as he realized what April meant. “We’ll try to find one of Shredder’s men and ask them. April, you stay here. Me and Donnie will go and we’ll stay in touch. I still think she didn’t take him, but I couldn’t live with myself if you’d been right and we lost the chance to get him back.”
“Call the Mutanimals,” April said. “It could get messy and you need their help.”
“Will do,” Leo said and then he and Donnie went topside and looked for any signs of Shredder’s henchmen.
Leo thought about his mate. Raph, hold on. I will find you and bring you home. I love you and I’ll never stop looking for you.

Raphael and Karai boarded the jet a little before ten and sank into their seats.
“Not long, baby, and we’ll soon be in Japan,” Karai said excitedly, her eyes shining with happiness.
“Yeah.”
“You don’t seem happy, Raphael?”
“I am,” Raphael said as he experienced a weird feeling of regret, sorrow and a sense that he was leaving something important behind.
“Then show it now!” she said irately.
“Yes, babe.”
The jet took off and began its ascent. The journey would take around fourteen hours.
Raphael watched the ground until he could no longer see it. His wife was sipping champagne and prattling on about the fantastic life they would have together.
“Raphael, are you listening?” Karai said. “Repeat what I said.”
“You were, uh, talking about bougainvilleas?”
“What? No. Where on earth did you get that stupid idea?” Karai snapped as she glared at him.
“Dunno. It just came to me. You like bougainvilleas.”
“I sure don't. I love roses! Pay attention. I hate being ignored,” Karai said furiously as she sank her nails into his arm, making him wince.
“Yes, honey. It won’t happen again.”
Karai resumed her chattering.
Raphael sighed. Why did I think that? If she doesn’t like bougainvilleas, then who does and why is my brain such a blank? It’s like the only person and life I’ve ever known is Karai and being with her. Is that true? Is it also true that she rescued me? A name popped into his head unexpectedly. Who the hell is Leo? Is he the one who likes bougainvilleas? I wanna ask, but I don’t wanna upset her and lose her. I love her. Maybe it’s best that I drop it. After all, if she rescued me like she said did, why would I wanna know anything about that past life? I got an incredible one with her and should count my lucky stars. I'm gonna focus on that and her.
