Work Text:

“I have good news for you, my lord,” Count Dooku knelt in front of Darth Sidious’ hologram as he stared at his slate grey floor. Come to think about it everywhere I look it’s slate grey. Dooku mused as he listened to Emperor Palpatine’s instructions.

“Carry on, apprentice, what news do you have for me today?” Dooku noticed the excitement in Sidious’s voice when he expressed his announcement.

“There is a fluctuation in The Force. If I can bring someone here to help from a distant galaxy, they would be easily to be…” Dooku’s voice trailed off when Lord Sidious’s hand raised for him to stop talking.

“And how will you be able to do that extraordinary feat? That person will have to be very powerful to be able to join you on Serrano.” Sidious hinted at a very discouraged Dooku.

“I will see that it will happen.” Dooku raised his head determined to prove his master wrong for once.

“Very well, I can not stop you. Be careful. Remember what happened with Ventress.” Sidious warned Dooku firmly before signing off.

Count Dooku ran a hand down his face as he sighed and sat in his comfy slate grey swivel chair. His fingers came to a steeple when he leaned forward a bit deep in thought of a person that could actually travel to his home world. All I have to do is meditate on this; and with much anticipation, the one will come.

Dooku rose up from his chair to sit on the floor cross legged, inhaled and exhaled as he closed his eyes and concentrated through The Force.

Meanwhile back on Earth…
Hermione Granger was having a shitty day if the scowl in her forehead rivaled that of Severus Snape. If only Severus was here. He can put Umbridge in her place! Hermione fumed inwardly opening her chamber door at Hogwarts. She couldn’t believe that Umbridge was still trying to take control over the school.

I need someone who will help me or teach me new ways to deal with Umbitch. Hermione flopped on her back across her couch as she closed her eyes feeling hopeful.

Hermione didn’t see a portal opening up above her. It was a black, swirling cloud that engulfed her and the couch up before vanishing.

“Hermione! Are you in there? Are you alright?” Minerva’s thick Scottish accent came through when she opened the door concerned for Hermione’s well-being. She eyed the black cloud, which vanished with a pop and glanced at the spot where Hermione’s couch should have been.

“Damn it! Lucius will have a field day with this! I knew Severus informed him of keeping an eye on Hermione. But he wasn’t here.” Minerva crossed the room to activate the Floo Network. “Lucius Malfoy, I acquire your attention at once!”

Lucius cringed when he heard Minerva’s booming voice coming through the Floo Network. “Coming Headmistress!” He stepped through the Floo Network, and the first thing he spied was Hermione’s couch gone and a dark, burnt spot on the floor where it should have been. “Where is Miss Granger?”

“I would like to know that as well, Lucius! Something otherworldly has snapped her up to Merlin knows where! We have to inform the Weasleys as well.” Minerva snapped irately at him when Lucius started to poke around to find anything helpful.

Lucius cringed again, “Must we?”

“Yes!” Minerva snapped again and penned a quick note to Arthur Weasley about Hermione’s disappearance.

Count Dooku was in deep meditation when the black swirling cloud appeared, dumping the couch in front of him and startling the poor man awake. He calmed down long enough to spy the lovely vision asleep on the couch thinking, The Force has chosen wisely. I can feel her power radiating off her in waves. She is most furious about something that has happened in her life. I can work with this.

Dooku reached out his right hand to touch her gently on the shoulder as Hermione breathed in and shifted on her other side. She will be hungry after her trip. I must prepare dinner for us. We have a long night ahead of us. He thought briefly as he took a step away from Hermione.

Dooku felt a pull back towards the young woman and scowled, “What fresh hell is this?” Determined, he continued stepping towards the kitchen area before hearing Hermione whimpered softly in her slumber.

“Damnation. We must have formed a Dyad bond. This could work to my advantage to help me stay alive if I know what my master has planned for me.” Dooku muttered out loud and started to pace, thinking back on that strange vision he had of Skywalker.

“More like a nightmare that would never come to pass.” Dooku shuddered at the thought of losing his head.

After several minutes, Dooku calmly walked towards the couch and gently shook the young woman awake.

Hermione yawned and stretched, feeling more relaxed than ever. Did someone come inside my chamber? Her eyelids fluttered and gasped when she recognized the older man in front of her after watching a lot of Star Wars. “I know you! Count Yan Dooku! So you are real? And I’m on Serrano?” she poked the Count’s arm as he looked at her amusedly.

“You know of me, lovely Dyad mate, yet I don’t know you,” He tilted his head at her, waiting for a proper introduction before someone interrupted them.

“Forgive me, I am Hermione Granger, a muggleborn witch from the planet Earth. The Force was strong enough to bring me here?” Hermione’s hand went to her chest as she reclined back into a sitting position hoping that Dooku would sit with her.

He did and took her hand in his, feeling the power flowing from her body, “Yes, I was mediating for someone to help me survive this infernal war. I suppose you know who is in charge?” Dooku hinted softly, hoping that her memories will serve her well.

“Yes, he is still in charge? How far is the war?” Hermione questioned Dooku as she was quite curious, looking around at the slate grey room and thinking how dull the color was.

Dooku smirked and kissed her warmly, surprised that she leaned into his body and wrapped her arms around his neck. “I will catch you up after we eat. I’m sure you are famished? And you will show me what happened to you earlier today back on your homeworld.”

Hermione smiled back at Dooku knowing that he doesn’t want to die in this war but to survive. Hopefully I can change his dark heart into disbanding order 66. We need the Jedi more than ever.
