“Curse these tiny seats, I should blow them up!” muttered Bane as he tried to fit himself onto a chair at a coffee shop.
Bane was a buff man and a villain of the city of Gotham and he often would have coffee at a small coffee shop.
Bane looked around himself and saw that there was a handsome looking man who appeared to be in his late twenties serving customers. It looked like Todd wasn’t working today and instead there was a new thin guy with black hair and glasses.
Bane was relieved to see this as Todd always got his name wrong and it happened so much that Bane was sure that it was on purpose.
Bane got out of his chair, almost accidentally breaking it while doing so.
He approached the counter and when it was his turn he was greeted with a cheerful and polite smile. He could also see that the man had very pretty green eyes behind the glasses that he was wearing and a scar on his forehead that looked very unique. Also, Bane read the name tag that was pinned to the man’s uniform and saw that the barista’s name was Harry.
“Hello, what would you like today sir?” Harry asked.
“A cappuccino please” he said in his usual deep voice.
Harry gave a nod and wrote it down before looking back up at Bane. “Will you be wanting any sugars with that?”
“Three please” replied Bane.
Harry nodded.
“Dine in or take away?”
“Dine in”
Harry nodded again before asking for Bane’s name.
“It’s Bane,” said the villain. “B…A…N…E..”
Bane saw Harry writing down his name and he hoped that his name would get spelt right this time now that there was someone serving him who actually seemed nice. Bane soon then paid for his order and took a table number.
“It won’t be long Bane. Please be patient and your drink will be served soon” Harry said while staring up at Bane.
Bane gave a nod of acknowledgment and he returned to his table.
Bane’s drink didn’t take very long as promised and Bane saw Harry approaching his table with that same polite, cheerful smile as before and carrying Bane’s cup of coffee.
“Here you go Bane, one cappuccino with three sugars”
“Thank you” said Bane as his drink of coffee was placed carefully in front of him.
“You’re welcome, sir” said Harry brightly. “Please enjoy your coffee”
Harry then left Bane’s table to serve other customers.
After Bane finished his coffee he stepped up to the counter and thanked Harry.
"Thank you for the coffee. It was very good Harry and you got my name right , something that Todd never seems to do!! So thank you!" said Bane.
Bane got out his wallet and gave Harry a twenty dollar note , "Here is your tip, your getting my name right was very much appreciated , thank you!"
Harry smiled and Bane once again admired the other man's pretty green eyes.
"Thank you!" said Harry as he put the money into a tip jar.
"No , thank you! Please serve me coffee again"
Harry nodded , "Yes, of course"
Bane then turned to leave the coffee shop but not before he said "Harry , you have very pretty green eyes by the way. You should be very proud , they are quite beautiful"
Harry didn't say anything to that and just stared after Bane in silence as Bane then left the coffee shop.
Bane hoped that the next day he would get served by Harry as well, the man had pretty eyes , was very nice and polite and actually got his name right.
The next day when Bane went to the coffee shop, he was disappointed to see no Harry and instead was served by Todd. Apparently, Harry only worked Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Though disappointed , Bane ordered his coffee and put up with Todd getting his name wrong yet again.
On Friday Bane went to the coffee shop to get a coffee served to him from Harry and Harry was just as polite and cheerful as on the Wednesday when he was first served by him. This became a regular thing for Bane and after a while he couldn’t help but develop some romantic feelings for the barista.
