Work Text:
Doug had only been looking for a spare jacket when he found the noose in his housemate's closet.
"What the fuck are you doing!?" Xavier had yelled angrily when he walked into his room to find his teammate holding the knotted rope in his hands. He angrily stormed towards the bigger man and ripped the rope out of his hands, throwing it into the closet and slamming the door to the small storage space. He looked up at Doug, anger and anxiety making his entire body tense. Doug, on the other hand, just looked sad. "Why were you going through my shit?"
"I was looking for a jacket" Doug answered matter-of-factly. Xavier looked away at this, feeling a bit guilty for how accusatory he'd initially been. "Have you tried to..?"
"You know I have mental shit" Xavier shrugged. Doug thought for a moment before wrapping his arms around the smaller man in a firm hug. Xavier froze for a moment before relaxing into the touch. Why Doug was still being kind to him even after all his outbursts, he wasn't quite sure, but he appreciated it. "I'm sorry I shouted"
"I forgive you" Doug replied softly. "If you're every feeling like that again, please tell me? I don't want to lose you"
"Yeah..." Xavier agreed. "I will. Thank you, Glatt"
"No problem, man"
