Summary
In the original movie, Celine sees Rumi as a human first, a demon second. Well what if she saw Rumi as a demon first instead.
After the incident, Rumi, Mira, and Zoey are still recovering. PTSD, separation anxiety, and unable to handle hot temperatures, they have a long road ahead of them. At least they have each other… and the demon hunters trying to kill them.
Before the incident, Rumi grew up in a concrete cell, in chains, with no knowledge of the outside world. Everything changed when a piece of her cell broke off and she got to see the sky for the first time. Also other girls and their music. It was all scary and new. But what wasn’t? Especially since Celine was on her last nerve with keeping Rumi alive.

Summary
Bobby knew how to read a room.
He could read Zoey’s fidgeting as fatigue two days before she’d admit it. Mira’s dry sarcasm sharpened when she was stressed.
And Rumi?
Rumi was quiet. Not mysterious, she had her moments of letting loose, just quiet. She said what she needed to, did her job flawlessly, and never once complained.
Which made her consistent wardrobe choices stand out more than they probably should’ve.

"Umma says that the bigger ones are dying."
"How is she..." Mira starts, just as Zoey says, "That's kind of sad.."

The world is far from small, but one girl's journal might just bring the past crawling back into frame anyway.
