Chapter Text
Young alpha Yoongi gets kicked out by his parents right after his birthday.
Well... not really kicked out, but it feels that way. They tell him it's time that he goes off to find his own mate, build a pack, settle down. All the things an alpha should be seeking to do by 21.
The problem is that he doesn't know how to do those things. He knows forming a pack in your early 20s is normal, but... that usually necessitates having friends before that, which Yoongi doesn't.
His parents had put so much pressure on him to finish school with decent grades and get a job as quickly as possible that he never really had the time to properly make friends, or date, or any of it. On top of that, it isn't like Yoongi knows much about pack dynamics to begin with.
Still, he promises to do his best and that he'll move out ASAP, but the other problem is that Yoongi is painfully shy. It isn't easy to make friends when you're an adult, let alone friends that you want to form a pack with and to possibly mate someday.
So "trying" more-or-less amounts to Yoongi sitting in the cafe of the same local book shop every day for a few hours reading before he goes home and makes up stories to tell his parents about all the effort he put in to "put himself out there." So far, it's been working great!
But one afternoon, as he's browsing through the self-help section (out of sheer curiosity, of course), he literally walks right into an alpha he's never seen there before. Or... that he's never noticed, at least- though he admittedly doesn't pay much attention to other patrons.
And really, it's mostly the other man's fault, because he's reading and walking at the same time. He's the one who walks into Yoongi, in fact- but Yoongi still apologizes when they collide.
His name is Namjoon and he's very nice. Insists on buying Yoongi a coffee as an apology and everything.
They sit and drink together, and Yoongi can't help noticing that Namjoon is a lot different from all the other alphas Yoongi knows- he's soft-spoken and kind and quite the avid reader. He's intellectual and sensitive... obviously quite clumsy. Different, like Yoongi. It's comforting.
Part of why Yoongi struggles so much to make friends with alphas is because he feels so different from so many of them, but Namjoon... he's an alpha that Yoongi could see himself befriending.
"Can I be honest with you?" the older man asks after they've been talking for... gosh, well over an hour. Yoongi nods. "I thought you were an omega, at first."
"Ah... yeah. I- I get that a lot."
"It wasn't an insult. The opposite, actually- you've got a very pretty face."
It's strange. Yoongi has never had another alpha compliment him like this... he didn't think that was normal or appropriate for alphas to do, in fact. And he called Yoongi pretty, of all things. He thinks that maybe he should be insulted, but it feels... nice. He blushes deeply.
"Oh, um... th-thanks."
He smiles. His teeth are perfect. He's got the most charming little dimples. Yoongi doesn't think it's normal to think that about another alpha, either.
"You seem rather shy, Yoongi-ah." He's talking to Yoongi so casually- almost affectionately.
Does this mean they're friends?
"I am... I'm not great at making friends, to be honest."
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I think you're doing just fine."
"That- That does make me feel better, actually. Thank you, Namjoon-ssi."
"Call me 'hyung.'"
"R-Really?"
"Yeah. I consider us friends now, Yoongi-ah. Don't you?"
"Y-Yes! Yes, I do."
They exchange phone numbers and everything. Yoongi tells his parents the truth, this time- that he really did make a friend, he thinks. And they seem so proud of him that it fills him with pride in turn.
They meet for coffee again a few days later, and Yoongi is much more talkative the 2nd time. He tells Namjoon all about himself, in fact- including the fact that his parents are kicking him out.
"They think it's so simple. Maybe finding a pack was easier back when they were young, but-"
"You're looking to start a pack?"
"Yeah, I guess. Do you- do you already have a pack?"
"I do," Namjoon says, and Yoongi’s heart sinks a little, though he supposes he should have expected as much. "Two of my packmates are actually coming to meet me here soon so we can go to lunch."
"Oh, that's... that sounds nice."
"They're excited to meet you," Namjoon says, then takes a casual sip of his coffee. "I've told them all about you."
And Yoongi is a little taken off-guard, truthfully. He would have liked a heads up that he was going to be meeting more strangers.
But... the fact that Namjoon told his packmates about him makes Yoongi feel strangely flattered and wriggly inside.
"You... told them about me?"
"Of course, Yoongi-ah," he says, with his bright, dimpled smile. "You're lovely, why wouldn't I?"
Namjoon is nothing like any other alpha Yoongi knows.
He likes it more than he should. He gets excited, even, to meet Namjoon’s packmates. If they're anything like Namjoon, Yoongi is sure he'll like them, too.
When they arrive, Yoongi is surprised to find that they're both alphas, too. Still, they're very kind. They both know Yoongi's name already.
Much like Namjoon, they're also 2 of the most handsome men he's ever laid eyes on. It makes him nervous right away. Their names are Hoseok and Seokjin, Yoongi learns.
He also learns that Namjoon told them quite a lot about him and he isn't sure how he's supposed to take that, but it flusters him.
He learns that Namjoon is their pack alpha despite Seokjin being the eldest, which is also strange- though Seokjin explains that Namjoon found him and invited him to join his pack quite late into his 20s. That makes Yoongi feel a bit better, because maybe that means he isn't so strange after all.
"We're all a bunch of weirdos, really- that's how our pack came together. Just collecting misfits," Hoseok explains with his warm, charming smile, and it gives Yoongi a flutter of hope in his heart, because he's a misfit, too.
"You are all very strange, for alphas," Yoongi blurts.
They laugh, luckily, but Yoongi still rushes to explain.
"I just mean that... I've never met alphas like you, that's all! It was a compliment!"
"Well I've never met an alpha like you either, Yoongi-ah. And that's a compliment, too," Seokjin says, and Yoongi feels himself blushing again.
Blushing all over, so badly that he feels warm under his sweater.
"Well I- I- I don't-"
"Come to lunch with us," Hoseok says, interrupting Yoongi's stuttering with a laugh. "If you're not busy, of course."
"I'm not busy!" Yoongi responds much too quickly, and they all laugh at him again.
"Great!"
"Where are we going to eat?" Yoongi asks, and the three of them exchange a look.
"You know, we actually hadn't decided yet. So why don't you pick, Yoongi-ah? We can go wherever you'd like," Namjoon offers, and Yoongi immediately shakes his head no.
"N-No, no thanks. I don't want to choose."
"Why not?"
"I'm not good at making choices. Makes me too anxious."
The three of them exchange another look, like they're talking with their eyes. It makes Yoongi nervous until Seokjin smiles at him.
"Well, in that case, I'll pick for you."
They end up going to some restaurant Yoongi has never been to before with big, sectioned off booths. It's very private- almost intimate- and Yoongi's social anxiety comes creeping back up once he's properly alone with the three other alphas. It doesn't help that they're all so big.
He's a little intimidated, honestly, and he almost asks Namjoon if he can be seated on the end of the booth instead of in the seat against the wall, but the older alpha guides him into the booth before he builds up the courage to ask.
Hoseok is seated right across from him, which is comforting. He gives off a welcoming sort of energy that Yoongi isn't used to alphas having, and it's nice.
The three of them choose what they'd like to eat much faster than Yoongi does, and that makes him anxious, too.
He's still nervously flipping through the menu when Namjoon gently wraps his arm around Yoongi's shoulder, and he freezes still.
"I know it's a little pricey, but don't worry about it. Get whatever you want- we'll pay, yeah?"
"I can't- I can't let you pay for me."
"It's no trouble, Yoongi-ah. We invited you out, so we'll pay. Don't worry," Hoseok assures with a smile, and Yoongi finds himself nodding in agreement.
"Yeah- Yeah, okay. Th-Thank you very much."
"Do you need help choosing, Yoongi-ah?" Namjoon asks him, squeezing his shoulder lightly.
Yoongi's breath catches in his throat. He's never known alphas to be so casually physically affectionate. It's... sort of nice. He’s blushing again.
"Um... y-yeah, I've just... never been here before, and there are a lot of options-"
"Shh, it's okay," Seokjin hushes him gently. "Hyung will pick something for you."
Yoongi feels this weird, fluttering feeling in his stomach. It doesn't go away the whole time they're at lunch. It gets worse, in fact, especially after Seokjin goes so far as to order Yoongi's food for him, too.
Nj and Hoseok keep touching him, too. It’s casual- Namjoon periodically puts his arm across Yoongi’s shoulders, and Hoseok just seems like a touchy person. He brushes Yoongi’s hair behind his ear a few times before eventually asking if Yoongi wants him to tie it back for him before their food arrives.
Yoongi agrees, and Hoseok leans across the table to gently brush his fingers through Yoongi's hair before using a hair tie to tie the front part back in a small ponytail.
"Your hair is so long, Yoongi-ah."
"Yeah... I- I need a haircut badly, I know. My appa keeps saying so, too."
"No way, it looks so pretty on you!" Hoseok says, plopping back down into his seat before brushing his fingers through the hair framing yg's face. "You should keep it long."
Pretty. Hoseok called him pretty, too. He's sure he’s bright red, and he shyly looks down at the table.
"Well- Well thank you, hyung. I think I will... I like it this way."
Yoongi misses the look that Seokjin and Namjoon give one another across the table- a knowing look that ends with the both of them having to look down into their laps before they burst into inappropriate laughter.
Yoongi thinks lunch goes quite well. He does feel bad for letting them pay for him, but... they offered, and he's not one to argue. Besides, it makes him feel sort of special. Special in a way he's never felt before. And he knows that their behavior is a bit odd, but Yoongi likes it.
He's never gotten along with alphas before because all the ones he's known are rude and aggressive and brutish. But Namjoon and Seokjin and Hoseok all seem so kind and nice- gentle and affectionate. The way Yoongi would like to be with his pack someday, too.
He's sad when it's time to go.
"We'd love to stay longer, but we promised the pups we'd go with them to see this movie they've been dying to see," Hoseok eventually says, and Yoongi's jaw drops.
"You- You have pups?"
The three of them laugh again, and Yoongi shrinks in on himself, embarrassed.
"No, sweetheart," Hoseok giggles, and Yoongi’s heart skips at the endearment. "That's just what I call our youngest packmates."
"You have younger packmates, too?" Yoongi asks, clearly intrigued. The three older alphas exchange another look that makes Yoongi feel small.
"We do, though they're all older than you, so I guess you'd really be the pup, hm?"
Yoongi goes beet red at the implication- if there even is an implication at all. Maybe he's just being stupid. He's getting ahead of himself, certainly.
"They wanted to meet you too, you know," Namjoon says, bringing his arm down across Yoongi's shoulders again. Yoongi decides he likes it- it's comforting. He leans in closer to Namjoon's side. "I just didn't know if it was a great idea yet, since they're sort of... rambunctious."
"Well- Well you've all been so nice to me, and... and if they're nice too, then I'd be okay with meeting them," Yoongi says shyly, tucking his fingers into his sweater sleeves. "Are they omegas? Or betas?"
"They're alphas. We all are," Seokjin says, and Yoongi’s eyes go wide.
"R-Really? I've... I've never heard of that before."
"Yeah, it's maybe a bit odd, but we've never been ones to adhere to societal expectations," Namjoon says. "That's why we all get along so well."
Wow, that's... amazing, Yoongi thinks. A whole pack of alphas like this.
Kind, gentle, sweet alphas. Those are the kind of alphas Yoongi would want in his pack, too.
"If you want to meet them, you can come to the movies with us," Hoseok offers, and Yoongi’s heart floats.
"Are you... are you sure? I wouldn't want to intrude..."
"Of course I'm sure!"
"We'll pay for the movies too, pup," Namjoon offers with another squeeze to Yoongi's shoulder, and Yoongi feels faint. He's never had someone affectionately call him that before. It's making him want to cry. "Come along. You'll have fun, I promise."
"O-Okay. Yeah, I'll come."
Yoongi is, admittedly, already socially exhausted- however, he commits to going to the movies anyway. He might have said no if they didn't seem to want him to come so badly. He's never been very good at saying no to anyone.
They walk to the movie theater, and it's rather chilly outside. Yoongi should have brought a coat. He tries not to shiver, though, because the 3 older men don't seem to be cold at all. None of them brought coats. Yoongi is probably just being a baby.
When they arrive to the theater, it's immediately obvious who they're there to meet, because three young men come practically running at them as they approach the front entrance. Three more very attractive alphas.
Yoongi wonders if being hot is a requirement to be in their pack- if so, he's already out of luck.
"You poor thing- you must be freezing!" one of them says right away, and Yoongi doesn't realize that he's talking to him until he turns to Namjoon and points a scolding finger at him.
"You let him walk around in the cold like this without a jacket?"
Namjoon immediately puts his hands up, and it's strange- strange to see such a big alpha yield to one so much smaller than him, even in jest. Especially the pack alpha.
"I didn't know he wouldn't bring a coat!"
"He's shivering!" the smaller alpha says, and Yoongi puts his hands up, too, uncomfortable with all the attention.
"It’s- It’s no big deal, I'm fine," he tries to say, but the young alpha is already turning to one of the other two.
He's big- looks like he could squash Yoongi like a bug, if he wanted to. Yoongi is realizing that he's the smallest among them, in fact. Something instinctual tells him he should feel threatened by that, but it's weak enough for Yoongi to ignore it.
"Jungkook, give him your coat."
"Why didn't any of you bring coats?" he grumbles, but he still obediently strips his coat off and hands it to the other alpha, who immediately drapes it over Yoongi’s shoulders. It's warm inside and smells like pears and cardamom and clove. It's a pleasant scent. Comforting.
"Do you want my scarf?" The third alpha asks, already unwrapping it from around his neck. Yoongi frantically shakes his head no.
"No, no- it's fine! Please, I'm- I'm not that cold, honestly," Yoongi tries to argue, but he still wraps it loosely around Yoongi’s own neck.
Smells like... sweet grass. Like hay, almost, or freshly cut flowers. Also very pleasant.
"There, that's better, isn't it?" The first alpha asks, stepping forward to zip Jungkook’s jacket up. He gets very, very close to Yoongi, and Yoongi swears he hears him take a sniff.
"That's enough, Jimin," Hoseok says sternly, and the younger alpha steps away with a cheery smile.
"Just don't want our guest to catch a cold, that's all."
Seokjin finally properly introduces them, then- Jungkook, Taehyung, and Jimin. All older than Yoongi, though Jungkook is closest in age to himself.
Yoongi instantly understands what Namjoon meant by "rambunctious," because the three of them don't stop talking the whole time they're waiting outside in the ticket line. They ask Yoongi a lot of questions, which Yoongi answers the best he can.
"So you don't have a pack of your own? That's what I'm assuming at least, 'cos you don't smell like anyone else," Jimin asks him very bluntly, and Yoongi blushes.
"N-Not yet, but- but I'm working on it... I have to figure it out soon, anyway. My parents are sort of kicking me out."
The five other alphas all look at Namjoon in shock, and Yoongi is confused.
"You didn't tell us that, hyung," Taehyung says, narrowing his eyes at their pack alpha.
"I just found out myself today," Namjoon says. "Yoongi hadn't mentioned that the first time we met."
"Why would they kick you out?" Jungkook asks him, frowning softly- almost pouting. "You seem so sweet."
"I- I don't know, they're sort of... traditional," Yoongi says, blushing again. "They want me to find a pack and a mate and settle down. Have a couple pups and all that."
"Is that what you want, Yoongi-ah?" Jimin asks, and Yoongi freezes. He isn't sure, really. He doesn't know what he wants.
"I- I don't know. I've never really considered any other options..."
"My parents wanted me to find a mate and stuff too," Taehyung adds, wrapping his arm around Yoongi's shoulders. "They were pretty pissed when I told them I was going to live with a bunch of other alphas, but I'm happy, and that's what matters. You've gotta do what makes you happy, Yoongi."
The way Taehyung says it makes Yoongi wonder... wonder if they're all more than just friends and packmates. Everything that Hoseok said about them being a bunch of misfits... maybe it's because they're all gay. It would make sense. But maybe that's unfair for Yoongi to assume.
It isn't fair to assume they all must be gay just because they're nice and gentle and sweet. Still, Yoongi has never heard of 6 alphas living alone together before.
Either way, the idea of it isn't entirely unappealing, and that thought scares Yoongi a lot.
He isn't gay. He's never been interested in another alpha before.
Besides, his parents would murder him if he ever considered it, anyway. He can't imagine what his appa would say if he knew Yoongi let other alphas buy him lunch and take him out to the movies, like a- like a date.
His parents would hate these alphas and their casual physical affection and their gentle nature. They'd hate that Yoongi is allowing himself to feel so endeared by them and their unconventional lifestyle choices.
These are the types of alphas his mother would tell Yoongi to stay away from when he was young, because they were probably sick, disgusting perverts. And Yoongi is like them, isn't he?
Oh, god- is that why likes them so much? Is it because he's like that, too?
Suddenly, the feeling of Taehyung's arm on his shoulders is suffocating instead of comforting. The smell of other alphas all over him feels inappropriate- feels wrong.
He starts getting anxious, and once they're nearly at the front of the ticket line, he's almost hyperventilating.
"I- I need to go home, I think," Yoongi says softly, and they all turn and look at him in confusion. "I don't... feel good."
The three younger alphas start asking Yoongi what's wrong, which doesn't help, because he doesn't know how to explain. He just stands there and stares blankly at them until Hoseok hushes all three of them and drags Taehyung away from Yoongi's body.
"This is too much too fast, isn't it?" he asks gently, and Yoongi feels tears stinging at his eyes as he nods.
"I don't- I don't think I should be here."
"You're scared, aren't you?" Jungkook asks bluntly, and Yoongi startles at the question. "Because we're all alphas, I mean. That's freaking you out, isn't it?"
Yoongi hesitates before nodding slowly, because it's true, after all.
"Is it because you're afraid we'll try to hurt you or something?" Taehyung asks, and Jimin smacks him on the arm.
"Don't say stuff like that!"
"He said he's scared! What the hell else would he be afraid of?"
"Because this is all very new to him and he isn't sure how to handle it," Namjoon interrupts calmly. "That's my fault. I should have known better than to bring you here, Yoongi. I'm sorry."
Now Yoongi feels guilty again.
They haven't done anything wrong. They haven't done anything to make Yoongi suspicious of them or think poorly of them. They've done nothing but show him kindness, in fact.
Yoongi is being judgmental of them in the same way that he hates being judged. He's a hypocrite.
"N-No, I-" Yoongi hesitates. "I just... I'm not good at meeting people... I get nervous, and... I don't know. I just- just have a hard time in public, sometimes."
"Then do you want to come to our place instead?" Jimin asks outright, and Seokjin sighs.
"If he's already uncomfortable with us, bringing him to our home isn't going to fix that, Jimin-ah."
"He said he's uncomfortable because we're in public," Jimin argues back, then looks right into Yoongi’s eyes. "Being somewhere private would be better for you, yeah? Less overwhelming?"
Yoongi isn't sure. All of his lessons on stranger danger race through his head as he considers saying yes, but... they're not really strangers, are they? Yoongi has talked to Namjoon enough to feel like he knows him well enough by now, at least.
"Where do you live...?"
Jimin smiles brightly at him, and it eases some of the worry in Yoongi’s chest.
"Not far. Come on, let's go- we can watch a movie there, instead." Yoongi thinks about protesting or maybe asking for more details- an address, or something- but Taehyung slides his hand into Yoongi's and cups their palms together to start walking away from the theater.
His hand is so warm. Yoongi decides not to argue and follows after him.
"It's okay, you know- we get weird looks and stuff in public a lot. I get why you're uncomfortable," Taehyung says kindly, but it makes Yoongi feel even worse.
"N-No! I'm not- I'm not uncomfortable, I just-"
"Don't lie," he whispers. He firmly squeezes Yoongi’s hand, too. "You're not a good liar, yg."
"It isn't... because of you, or anything."
"Social stigma is a terrible thing, don't you think?" Taehyung asks, looking down at him with a look in his eyes that Yoongi can't make sense of. "Makes people afraid to be who they are."
And Yoongi has been contributing to that, hasn't he? He feels sick to his stomach with guilt. Why should he care even if they are all in one big homosexual relationship? It doesn't affect him, in the end. They're nice people, that's all that should matter. Yoongi is better than that.
He shouldn't have made them leave the theater. He feels so terrible that he wants to cry. He tries to hide it by tucking his face into Taehyung's scarf and inhaling the older alpha’s earthy scent, and it really does help to calm him down. The warm hand holding his doesn't hurt, either.
Even with Jungkook’s coat on, Yoongi is freezing by the time they arrive. He practically runs inside toward the heat, stranger danger be damned.
It looks totally normal inside- neater than expected, honestly, for a bunch of alphas. Their scents linger in the air pleasantly. It's homey.
"Make yourself at home," Namjoon tells him, and Yoongi doesn't really know how to go about doing that, but he nods anyway.
"Are you still cold, Yoongi-ah?" Jimin asks him, and Yoongi considers lying and saying no, but his teeth are practically chattering. "I'll go get you a blanket."
Seokjin, Hoseok and Namjoon disappear to go make tea or something, presumably, and Yoongi ends up alone with Taehyung and Jungkook, both of which are looking at him and just sort of... staring. He shifts uncomfortably on the couch.
"Is- Is something wrong...?"
"You're just so pretty," Jungkook says bluntly, and Yoongi holds in an embarrassed squeak. "Hyung said you were pretty, but I thought he was exaggerating."
"He... he said that?"
"Yeah. Well... he said you were beautiful, actually," Taehyung corrects. "And he was definitely right."
Yoongi covers his face in embarrassment, but Jungkook gently grabs his wrists to pull them down into his lap again. He doesn't let go.
"Don't hide. It's true- you're very beautiful, Yoongi-ah." Yoongi wants to argue and say that no, he isn't- especially not compared to all of them.
However, the look in Jungkook's eyes stops him. He's looking at Yoongi so intensely that it makes him nervous again, and Yoongi's pulse picks up when his eyes flick momentarily to Yoongi's lips as his grip tightens on his wrists.
The look in his eyes is... scary. Too intense.
Yoongi doesn't have time to think too hard about what the look means before Jimin returns and drapes a fluffy blanket over his shoulders, and Yoongi is instantly swamped in the perfumy scent of roses. Jimin's scent, Yoongi now recognizes.
It must be a blanket he uses often... maybe from his own bed, or something. Yoongi's scalp tingles as he reaches up to pull the blanket tighter around his shoulders.
"There, isn't that better?" Jimin asks from behind him, gently placing his hands on Yoongi's shoulders as he leans closer.
Yoongi hears him sniff again- he's sure of it, this time.
"Um... y-yes. Thank you, Jimin-ssi."
"Hyung," he corrects gently, then begins delicately pulling the elastic out of Yoongi's hair. "And you're very welcome."
He doesn't say anything else, and Yoongi relaxes into the feeling until he hears footsteps approaching, and he blinks his eyes open again to see Jungkook staring at him with that same intense, almost dark look in his eyes that makes Yoongi's stomach swoop.
"Will you 3 leave the poor boy alone?" Hoseok scolds as the eldest alphas enter the living room again, and Yoongi reluctantly tears his eyes away from Jungkook to look at them. Seokjin and Hoseok both have trays with mugs on them, and Namjoon is trailing behind them with a strange expression on his face.
He looks almost worried, and that makes Yoongi feel bad again, because he doesn't want Namjoon to think he's having a bad time.
The looks that Jungkook keeps giving him are just making him nervous. Did he do something wrong? He knows some alphas are just territorial over their pack. Maybe it's that.
Maybe Jungkook feels uncomfortable having Yoongi in his home when they barely know each other. It starts making him anxious, and he stands from the couch just as Seokjin and Hoseok place the trays of mugs on the coffee table.
"Can- Can I go to the bathroom?"
"Of course you can, pup," Seokjin replies with a kind smile that effectively distracts Yoongi from the amused looks the other 5 men briefly exchange. "It's upstairs, 2nd door on your left."
Yoongi rushes up the stairs to lock himself in the bathroom, and he tries his best to calm down.
He doesn't know why he's so nervous. They're just regular people. Sure, Yoongi isn't used to being around so many other alphas in close proximity like this, but they're kind. They obviously like Yoongi, too.
Except for Jungkook. Yoongi can't tell what Jungkook feels about him, and that's scary.
The look on his face when Yoongi was sitting on the couch was scary. He's scary in general- looks like the type of alphas that used to bully Yoongi a lot in school when he was young.
Maybe that's why he's so uneasy. The look in the older man's eyes wasn't friendly, that's for sure.
Which is exactly why Jungkook starts getting lectured by his hyungs the moment that Yoongi is out of earshot.
"Hey, dumbass! You need to chill, you're freaking him out," Jimin hisses once Yoongi's footsteps have ascended the stairs, and Jungkook looks at him wide-eyed and confused.
"What did I do?!"
"You're looking at him like you want to fucking eat him. It's making him uncomfortable," Namjoon whispers back, then crosses his arms over his chest. "In fact, all 3 of you are laying it on way too fucking thick. I knew it was a mistake to let you meet him already."
"Woah, hey! He likes me," Taehyung argues defensively. "I've been normal."
"You and Jimin both are way too touchy already," Seokjin argues. "Seriously, not subtle at all trying to drown him in your scents."
"He likes it," Jimin argues, glancing back at the stairs. "Did you see him? He was practically fucking putty in my hands."
"We're trying to ease in, guys. Reign it in a little," Hoseok says sternly, and Jimin crosses his arms over his chest.
"Why, what's the point? He's getting kicked out of his house, right? Sounds to me like it'll be easy to have him."
"He's obviously very sensitive. Seems like a bit of a crybaby, honestly," Namjoon says lowly. "So fucking cool it before he bolts, seriously. Especially you, Kook."
"I didn't even do anything!" the young alpha pouts. "I've been nice! I gave him my coat!"
"You've also been eye-fucking him since we got back. I can smell you from here."
"Well... well can you blame me? I mean, what the fuck, hyung," Jungkook argues, glancing back at the stairs. "He's fucking... perfect. I've never seen an alpha like that before."
"Are you sure he is one?" Taehyung asks. "Maybe he's an omega and he's just lying."
"I don't care what he is, I want him," Jungkook insists. "I wanna go first. Wanna be the first knot he ever takes."
"No way in hell! You'll be last, if anything," Jimin scoffs. "You're the baby, remember?"
"For now!"
"Quiet!" Namjoon urges, and the young alphas fall silent. "He is an alpha, which means we can't just fucking spirit him away like the last one. We have to be smart and do this right, so have some fucking patience."
The toilet flushes upstairs.
"It'll be easier than you think, hyung," Jimin whispers, smiling confidently. "He's starved for attention and desperate to feel like he belongs somewhere. He's basically already ours. So stop stressing so much, yeah?"
"You were just as confident with the last one, Jimin."
"Yeah, well, he was an omega," Jimin rolls his eyes. "It was dumb of us to think he'd be able to handle six of us, anyway. Besides, now we know better how not to break our newest toy."
"I wanna break him," Jungkook says, staring at the staircase. "He must look so pretty crying."
"Have some fucking patience, Kook. Last warning you're gonna get," Hoseok says firmly, and Seokjin gives them all a silent command to shut up as the bathroom door creaks open again and soft footsteps descend the stairs.
Yoongi stops on the landing and fiddles with the hem of his sweater.
"Your- Your home is really lovely," he mumbles softly, because it is. Their bathroom is huge. They have a giant bathtub. Yoongi briefly wonders if they must take baths together before he urgently shoves that thought away. "Thank you for letting me come visit."
"That sounds suspiciously like the start of a goodbye," Jimin pouts dramatically. "Don't tell me you're thinking of leaving already. Hyung just made us cocoa and everything."
"I just... don't want to intrude," Yoongi says, glancing briefly at Jungkook before looking back down at his socks.
"You're not intruding, Yoongi-ah. We're happy to have you. Stay as long as you'd like," Seokjin assures cheerily, then gestures to the mugs on the table. "Come drink your cocoa before it gets cold."
Yoongi's feet immediately start moving at the command.
He tries to ignore the way his heart starts racing as he gets closer to Jungkook again, and he curses himself for being so jumpy. The young alpha smiles warmly at him as he sits back down onto the couch, which makes Yoongi feel a little bit better. He smiles back before reaching for a mug.
"So what do you do for work?" Jungkook asks, and Yoongi frowns again.
"I work at a telecommunications company."
"That doesn't sound very fun."
"It isn't. But it pays well, and... that's what matters, I guess."
"What would your dream job be if money weren't a concern?" Taehyung asks.
Yoongi turns to him and takes a sip of his cocoa before answering to buy himself time. The warmth of the drink settles pleasantly in his stomach, and he tries to remind himself to stop freaking out. There's nothing to freak out over.
"Um... I'd- I'd love to be a pianist."
"You play the piano?" Taehyung asks excitedly, clapping his hands together. "That's so cool!"
"Well, I only have a keyboard at home... not a proper piano or anything," Yoongi corrects, blushing furiously. Hoseok and Namjoon exchange glances over his head. "But yes. I write music sometimes, too."
"That's so wonderful, Yoongi-ah," Jimin praises, and Yoongi's blush deepens. "I'd love to hear you play, sometime."
"I haven't played in front of other people in a long time. My parents said it's a useless skill and aren't supportive of it, so I usually just... play alone."
"Your parents don't sound like very nice people," Taehyung states, and Yoongi jumps in his seat when Namjoon growls lowly behind him.
It's barely a growl, really- more like a low rumble- but it instantly makes Yoongi go rigid.
"That's extremely rude, Taehyung," he warns, and Taehyung shrugs, unbothered.
"What? It's true. They're kicking you out, they don't support your passions... it sounds like they want you to be something you're not just to make them happy. Reminds me a lot of my own parents before I left home, is all."
"Your parents are traditional, too?" Yoongi asks.
"Yeah, big time. But I eventually realized I should surround myself with people who encourage me to be the person I want to be, so in the end, it all worked out okay. Now I'm part of a loving and supportive pack that I wouldn't trade for the world, even if it upsets my parents."
Yoongi can't imagine being so bold as to go against his parents’ expectations like that. The bubble of admiration that forms in his chest is probably a bad thing, he thinks.
His eyes are starry when he looks back at Taehyung.
"That's- That's really admirable, hyungie."
"You deserve to be happy, too, Yoongi-ah."
Yoongi looks down at his cocoa, but he shyly nods his head. "Thank you, hyung."
Taehyung raises a triumphant eyebrow at Namjoon, and Namjoon rolls his eyes. Yoongi looks up again when Jimin speaks.
"Enough serious stuff, let's watch a movie."
Jimin offers to let Yoongi pick the movie they watch, but he refuses again, only requesting that they don't watch anything scary.
"I don't like horror movies," Yoongi admits, blushing. Jimin expected as much, but it still affects him to hear it. To wonder what a terrified Yoongi must look like.
He wonders if the baby trembles and hides when he's scared, or if he's the type to cry if he's terrified enough. Seems like it.
Jungkook is going to have a field day with him, for sure. He's excited to see it, and to be the one who gets to piece Yoongi back together after Jungkook breaks him.
It appears that Jungkook is thinking the same thing, because that look is back in his eyes, like he wants to unhinge his jaw and swallow Yoongi whole. Jimin gets it, he really does.
Seokjin and Hoseok sit on either side of Yoongi to scroll through Netflix, and Namjoon shoots a stern glance at Jimin and Jungkook.
"Why don't you go get us some snacks?" he suggests, but the look in his eyes makes it clear that it isn't a suggestion. Jimin bounces up out of his seat and reaches for Jungkook, who pouts up at him.
"Why do I have to come too?"
"Because I said so," Jimin retorts, pinching Jungkook's ear to start dragging him out of his seat and toward the kitchen.
"Fuck! Ow! Alright, shit, I'm coming!"
Yoongi giggles as he watches Jimin herd Jungkook around the corner and out of sight presumably to go to their kitchen, and he considers asking if they want help, but Seokjin gently turns his head back toward the television with a light grip on his chin.
"They can handle it themselves, they're big boys," he assures, like he can read Yoongi's mind. "Why don't we watch this one, kit? Doesn't look scary."
Yoongi blushes and can't get words out, because... because he feels like a total baby. God, that's embarrassing. Still, he nods.
Once they're out of eyesight, Jimin shoves Jungkook into the kitchen, and the younger alpha growls at him.
"Stop pushing me!"
"Stop getting so worked up, you're fucking with my head!" Jimin hisses back. "Hyung is gonna kill us both if you scare Yoongi off."
"I'm trying!"
"Try harder."
Jungkook huffs and leans against the counter, dragging his hands down his face.
"I'm just- just-" Jungkook cuts himself off, but Jimin gets it. He steps closer and crowds into the younger alpha's space.
"Yeah, me too," he empathizes, running his fingers down Jungkook's chest to his waist.
"Hyung..."
"It'll be quick."
"They're gonna kill us if they find us-"
"It'll be quick," Jimin repeats, popping the button on Jungkook’s jeans open. "Just be quiet."
"This is a bad idea," Jungkook argues again, but he still shifts his hips forward when Jimin slides his hand into his pants.
"I know," he agrees, wrapping his fingers around Jungkook’s cock. "But you're going to end up doing something stupid otherwise. A hand job in the kitchen is the lesser of two evils."
"You're not gonna suck me off?"
“No, you spoiled little brat. I'm not your fucking call boy."
Jungkook growls low in his chest.
"Careful. Really not in the mood for your attitude right now," he warns, but he still rests his head in the crook of Jimin's neck as he begins stroking.
"Behave yourself and maybe you'll have the pretty baby on his knees for you sooner than later, hm?"
"His eyes are so pretty. Wanna see him cry so bad."
"Me too. Want to watch you bitch him," Jimin whispers, and heat washes over Jungkook’s body as he imagines forcing Yoongi down onto his hands and knees to present to him. Crying and trembling all over. Screaming at the top of his lungs when Jungkook shoves his cock inside.
"He's so little, Jungkookie. Gonna look so pretty stuck on your knot." Jimin's hand tightens around his cock and his knees tremble.
"F-Faster."
"You gonna play rough with the little kitty for your hyungs?" Jimin murmurs, brushing his fingers gently through Jungkook’s hair. "Make him scream and put on a good show for us, yeah?"
"Yeah, yeah-"
"He isn't an omega, Kookie. Gonna have to train him how to cum on a knot."
Jungkook pictures that, too- the poor thing whining and crying and begging to cum, little cock hard and twitching with his knot all swelled up. Telling him "No, kitty- if you want to cum you have to be a good bitch and do it on hyung’s knot."
"I- hyung, I'm-"
Jimin speeds up again.
"Shh, quiet down."
"Tr-Trying."
"You can bite me."
Jungkook doesn't hesitate to wrap his teeth around the meat of Jimin's shoulder over his shirt and bite down hard, hard enough to make the older alpha wince. Panic prickles at his scalp when he hears footsteps approaching.
He feels like he's going to fucking kill someone if Jimin stops right now.
"Sorry to interrupt. Carry on," Taehyung's voice laughs softly, and Jungkook blinks his eyes open to see the older alpha leaning on one of the counters with his chin in his hand looking very amused. Jimin doesn't falter.
He closes his eyes again as his knot starts to swell, and Jimin wraps his other hand around it and squeezes tight.
"C'mon, Kookie- baby is gonna wonder what's taking so long."
"He's snuggled up in Hoseok-hyung's lap right now," Taehyung chimes in. "Such a docile little pet already."
The image pops into Jungkook's head of Yoongi crawling around their house on his hands and knees. Wearing a collar, fluffy kitty ears, and a tail to match. His little cock all locked up, too, so he can't rub himself on their furniture.
He cums all over their kitchen floor.
