Jason throws his hands up. “Goddammit, Tim,” he snaps. The green tinge in his eyes spreads, eclipsing the blue. “Don’t you get it? I’m not fucking good enough for you. I never was, and I never fucking will be."
The words hurt. It hurts Tim that Jason still thinks that way, that whatever Bruce said triggered this all over again. He weaves steel into his voice as he steps into Jason’s space and says, “You don’t get to decide that. I do. And I choose you, Jason.”
