Neither Beau nor Jenny wanted to get up or move, and prayed they wouldn’t get called in on a case since this blizzard was a pretty bad one. “Glad I moved in with you in a real house because I don’t even want to imagine what this would be like in a trailer,” he murmured to his girlfriend. “God, I miss Texas.”
She snorted. “I will willingly go with you to Texas after this clears up, Arlen. Fuck this.” Jenny snuggled in closer next to Beau so there wasn’t an inch of space between them.
Beau beamed and gave her a quick peck on the lips. “Are you hungry? Want to make something?”
“Don’t move,” she whined.
He laughed. “We’re going to have to leave this bed at some point, Hoyt. Might as well get up now so we don’t starve.”
“Fine,” Jenny grumbled. The two of them reluctantly uncovered themselves and headed to the kitchen to start breakfast. She handed him some bread for toast and then wrapped her arms around him from behind.
“A man could get used to this,” Beau informed her as he cracked an egg to scramble it.
“So could a woman,” she shot back with a laugh. Jenny plugged in the toaster and then put the bread in herself since Beau was busy with the eggs.
They sat down to eat about five minutes later and happily dug into their breakfast. “Good?”
“Fantastic,” Jenny assured him. “This is so good I’d marry it.”
“Marry me,” Beau challenged, a glint in his eye.
She gaped at him before hastily swallowing her toast. “Are you serious?” When he nodded, Jenny responded quickly. “Fuck it, let’s do this thing.”
He stood up, grabbed a box out of his pocket, and then slid the ring onto her finger.
