This is a wonderful story. It makes me sad with happy and contentment mixed in there.
Yor at the end of the story in happier then I am, but reading this has enriched me.

Twilight and Yor have in each other someone they have exposed themselves to and cares for (loves) them still. No judgment, just trying to understand or be there for them. Someone they can really talk to and figure out who they are with.
To be known and loved is a happy ending, the lack of togetherness is twisting me up.
I'm feeling sad for Twilight, but i think he learned to live in the moment and enjoy the time he had with Yor.
I think he will be more than a working machine for the rest of his life, but I don't think he will really enjoy what he has experienced until he gets to talk about it with Yor.
I think he might gain a hobby of studying the occult and supernatural, WISE will think he has lost it, there could be wacky/weird adventures and he could fund his retirement with writing adventure/mystery/supernatural novels with happy endings for the side characters and the main character ruminating occasionally on what his mysterious love interest will think about this or that when they meet again.
Am I commenting my way to a happier ending for my tastes? Don't judge me too harshly, would I be enjoying fanfiction if I didn't want a happy ending? This is just self medicating.
Such a gentleman Twilight is, so polite to his hallucination while worrying for his mental health. (I assume he would be worried, he worries about everything else, but so ironic if he didn't worry he was losing his mind.)
Yor enjoying what she can of her afterlife haunting Twilight. (For Nightfall's sake, I hope she never learns of it.)
The ways Yor and Twilight take care of each other, so sweet and building up to my sadness in their parting.
Considering how much death is a part of their way of life it's sweet they learned to enjoy experiencing life together. The togetherness making it sweet. Even if Twilight was analyzing it to death.
This was a great story to read on Halloween, I applaud your timing on this.
