I simply love fic that deals with teenage Sam being attracted to Dean and being possessive about Dean and basically confusing the hell out of Dean by pushing at him with contradictory behaviour until Dean finally realises that he wants Sam too. So your excellent fic hit ALL my buttons :D
Huge kudos for writing such a wonderful Bobby who stays true to his Canon self but also shows the softer side of his personality. Bobby made a great Father in this AU, his parenting style hit just the right tone: practical, from a place of love, a bit clumsy but always sincere and genuine in wanting to do the best thing.
Teenage Sam, wow, what a handful - he'd exasperate the patience of a saint lol. But you didn't write him in such a way that he came across as a brat, you showed why he was acting out and why he felt the way he did. It made him nicely realistic.
Teenage Dean was just wonderfully clueless and sort of innocent and that was really nice to read him having a good, happy home life, particularly given how tough Canon!Dean's young life was on the road with John. Your Dean wasn't massively different to his Canon self, he just had slightly changed priorities because he had a different life than his Canon self. He was still loyal, protective, caring, self-sacrificing, and cheeky. He was adorable.
Great AU. I really love it when you pose (and then answer) 'What if' questions :D
I'm terribly fond of an exasperating Sam, but I'm sure that's so obvious! *G* And writing Bobby was a lot of fun, too. I'm so glad that you liked Bobby. He'd been reviewed elsewhere as being awfully hand-wavy, but it's a little hard for him not to be, in a story like this. :)
'What if' is the best question in the world when it comes to fanfic, yes?
Thank you so much for all your lovely, very thoughtful comments!
