    Thank you for the chapter. Hermione's behaviour is strange to say the least. If she hasn't been manipulated by the diary, why on earth would she go from adoring Harry and his company to hating him a couple of days for no good reason? And for Harry to grovel, and apologise again and again, even though he hasn't done anything particularly wrong is pretty weak of him. Stand up for yourself, man. Are you going to exclude all others from your company simply to appease Hermione's jealousy? That sounds both lonely and unreasonable.

    For a person who's fought the exact same troll before, he should know how to deal with it in an efficient manner without taking any damage at all, and yet things turned out worse than in canon. Harry didn't really impress at all in this chapter, did he? And after all the teachers had just proclaimed him the new Merlin.

    Anyhow, I'm looking forward to what happens next. Hopefully, Harry will get it together.

      Plot hint: Just because Hermione isn't being manipulated by the Diary doesn't mean that she isn't being manipulated.
      Maybe Harry's behaviour w.r.t Hermione could be construed as weak, but it's important to remember just how alone Harry feels. In every other fic I've read, Harry has told someone about his time travel/dimension travel and kept them as his confidante. Here, however, that is not going to happen, so he is waging a lone war against something that hasn't happened yet.
      And you got the point of the troll right; Harry isn't the new Merlin. He's beyond exceptional for an eleven-year-old and pretty damn good for a seventeen-year-old, but he is not invincible. You might have noticed that he did try to deal with the troll the same way right in the beginning. It didn't work because there was no sticking a wand up its nostril to distract it so that it wouldn't be holding onto its club tightly. Also, Voldemort may or may not have strengthened and enraged the troll when he silenced it and hid its smell.
