Every time I get to this part, where Barricade asks "what now?" I just... I expect him to say "Alright, you can kill me now." Because that's what he expects from Autobots, isn't it? Sure, they made nice, like Autobots do. They assured him that the hatchlings would be safe and gave him a full fuel tank. Very Autobot thing to do to a prisoner. And then they can feel justified when they tell the hatchlings that they did everything they could for him, right? it just breaks my heart. So much sympathy for First Aid here - he has to deal with all of Barricade's hurt by himself, pretty much, and there's just so much there. They're all so hurt. And Aid can't even say Barricade's fear is unjustified. Weh! I just wanna wrap them all up in a big hug!
Yeah, Barricade expects the worst - he has no reason not to. First Aid can emanate niceness and trust at him all he wants; some things are going to take a lot longer to heal. And First Aid knows he can't fix everything right away either, as much as he might want to - that Barricade's fears are based on some solid evidence, and he maybe hasn't coped himself quite as well as he likes to think. Everyone needs big hugs, exactly!
