*grins* All the assumptions and near misses are as much a treat to write as I hope they are to read. Jake finally meets his brother in this upcoming chapter, and that gets a new layer of mix-up that should be fun. Also, let's be honest - Adam lives for shenanigans. The fact that Hilde is often into it makes that friendship dynamic occasionallly fantastic. Though Jack might not agree when he realizes just WHO is camping out at his house. ...Poor Jack. Odin's determination to just run this out as long as he can get away with it (because he figures this 'family' thing is going to fall out from under him completely before long) is... not making anyone's life simple. Though it's certainly entertaining, especially because Jack just rolls with it.
Thanks for the condolences. It's finally settling out, emotionally or otherwise. My mom's scare was caught early enough to handle, one grandparent's funeral is passed, and the memorial for the other is upcoming next month. The other cancer scare... Well, chemo's a bitch, but it looks manageable so far.
