   Yearning for something you already have, wow, that's intense, and totally makes sense for Tsumiki. It's absolutely not selfish to want to be loved, but also to be filled with this endless want and not able to accept it when it's given... Yeah.

      For someone who has never been genuinely loved by anyone who isn't trying to manipulate or extort her, I imagine it would be hard for her to actually tell when she's found someone true. She's been lied to before after all, so I imagine it would take a long time until she stops waiting for the other shoe to drop. For her to realize that "oh. No this actually is real."

      But I fully believe that Ibuki would be patient enough to help her heal. 🥹

   Friend, the idea came across perfectly. A woman who has starved will never miss a meal or morsel. Even if she eats regularly for the rest of her life, some part of her may always stress: she doesn't know when she'll get to eat again. If that doesn't describe Mikan, I don't know what could. And if anyone can sate this insatiable need, it's Ibuki. Capturing this in 100 words is no easy task. Well done. Thanks for sharing this~

      I had a few ships I was considering for this prompt, but when I remembered mikan/ibuki I knew I had to give this one to them. Mikan's, as you've described, hunger for any form of affection and positive connection is so pervasive in every part of her character that her asking for love from someone who undoubtedly does love her really struck me :')
      And Ibuki is absolutely capable and emotionally intelligent enough to rehabilitate this battered shelter dog that is Mikan.

   Oh, this is both sweet and a little heartbreaking... Ibuki obviously does love Mikan, but she can't seem to come to terms with that!

      Mikan needs some time and lots and lots of love and affirmation to get her out of "hypervigilant survival mode", but they'd get there in time I'm sure :')

   Mikan genuinely not comprehending nor believing that she deserves such kindness breaks my heart ong. Her still yearning for kindness that she already has cause she is just used to cruelty is very bittersweet

      This sweet girl has been done wrong too many times. But at least she isn't rejecting the care, and I think with that Ibuki will eventually convince her that she deserves to be loved like this, and that this isn't fake.

      They are such a soft pairing for me, regardless of what canon tries to convince me about their characters.
