Martyn looked up from his phone and found Jimmy sitting on one of the chairs in the dining room. The younger blond waved at his brother.

"How," Martyn demanded more than asked as he walked down from the stairs.

Jimmy just grinned. "Couldn't sleep."

"You act like it's normal to not be able to sleep." Martyn sighed and started to make himself some cereal.

"Well, it technically is." Jimmy walked towards Martyn.

Martyn gave him a side-eye. "Have you ate?"

"Don't feel like it." Jimmy decided that looking at food will be enough to satiate him. "Also it's 'have you eaten'."

"Fine, whatever." Martyn rolled his eyes and brought the cereal back to the table.

Jimmy playfully whined. "You love-"

"Nope, I don't. Now shut up and eat atleast a banana."

Jimmy pouted. "I was going to say Ren but..."

"Stop lying. Shut up. Eat banana." Martyn glared at him and continued eating his cereal.

Jimmy pouted again but did what was told nonetheless.

Martyn sighed and continued to eat his food, before Grian and Pearl came, squabbling over a random thing again. Martyn zoned out there, not really wanting to hear their shouts.

His three siblings slowly settled on random seats in the dining room, but not before Grian teased Jimmy, and then the fists got out. The poor banana Jimmy was eating got mushed. Martyn sighed for the umpteenth time in that morning alone, picked up his bowl, and brought it and the banana to the kitchen. He discarded the banana in the trashbin, and mindlessly washed the bowl. Uncaringly throwing the bowl into the drying rack, he got back to the dining room.

"If you people don't finish your breakfast at 6.48, I'm not bringing you to school," Martyn threathened, causing all his siblings to quickly, and quietly, eat their food again.

"Scott!" Pearl shouted, instantly going over to hug the scottish man, nearly knocking over Xornoth. They huffed and left the two best friends.

"Hey, Pearl-" Scott struggled to breathe. "...stop suffocating me-"

"Oop sorry." Pearl hopped backwards, hug gone in mere seconds.

Scott playfully glared at her, before letting out a huff. "I keep forgetting how strong you and Gem are."

"Girls can be strong too-!"

"Not my point, and I know you know it isn't." Scott bonked his friend on her head, getting a yelp back.

"PEARL HOW QUICK ARE YOU REALLY?!" They both turned their head towards Grian. The shorter man was running, catching his breath.

"Somewhat fast?" Pearl tilted her head, genuinely being confused.

"Wh- 'somewhat'? SOMEWHAT?!" Pearl and Scott flinched a bit from Grian's shout.

"Yeah....?" Pearl blinked.

Grian let out a 'tsk'. "Then, explain to me, HOW YOU GOT HERE WAY QUICKER THAN I DID?"

"You didn't use the quick route, simple," Pearl stated like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Jimmy already entered class too."

"WHAT-"

"Hey I think you need'a shut up because these people are looking at us weirdly right now." Scott covered Grian's mouth like he was a kidnapper, and, with Pearl, brought him into their school.

"There, now we're at class!" Pearl exclaimed happily as Scott placed him down infront of HC-10. "Thanks Scott!"

"I'm going to bite you two." Grian growled as Scott waved and walked away.

Jimmy hummed a random tune he didn't know as he and Lizzie walked the halls towards the auditorium. The girl was happily talking about her newest date with Joel. She, as always when a girl has a crush on someone else, kept saying about how Joel was so cute. Jimmy thought to himself that Joel wouldn't enjoy being called cute, but they were a cute couple anyways so he couldn't care less.

Then their conversation drifted into another random subject: the event. Lizzie did try her best to not touch any sensitive parts, leaving out most of the event last year. Jimmy was so very thankful of her and thought of her as a sister he never had.

"Pearl is your sister, y'know?" Jimmy flushed red at Lizzie's sentence, both from the fact that Lizzie was correct, and that he said his thoughts out loud. Lizzie just chuckled.

A ping came from his phone, and he was very thankful it did.

Scott looked up from his phone to see Cleo smiling. He smiled back, knowing full well that Cleo knew about his relationship with Jimmy. Pearl also smirked at him, a knowing look in her eyes.

"Hm.... Pearl?" The brunette's expression turned to one of curiosity as she looked at Scott. "Did you tell your siblings about me, Jimmy, and Tango?"

Pearl shrugged. "Nope, Grian read Jimmy's phone. I didn't say a thing before he told me and Martyn."

"Good, good." Scott smiled.

"Hey, shut up," Cleo suddenly said. "The thingy's about to start. I wanna know who I'm teamed with."

"Ugh, fine, mom." Pearl half heartedly glared at the ginger.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our annual Week of Unity!" Most of the crowd clapped as the announcer entered the stage. Scott did notice that quite a large amount of people did not clap, though kept that to himself. "This event is here to celebrate unity, as the name suggests. If you haven't read the information group, as I'm sure some of you haven't," some people chuckled, with the announcer joining in, "Today's event will be the "Team Challenge". Everyone will get a team picked randomly by the school staff, and will have to do challenges as quickly as possible. The final 10 teams will compete with eachother in this room, with 20 different challenges scattered around. The team with the most completed challenges at the end will win a trophy."

"Now I see how people almost died," a girl with blue hair and a headpiece resembling bunny ears whispered to their friend. Scott scoffed at how even he could hear that whisper, though didn't say any comments.

"Now, are we all ready for the teams?!" the announcer exitedly exclaimed, earning a collective shout of agreements. "Let's go, then! Everyone who is called, please go to the stage to meet your teammates."

Scott somewhat zoned out afterwards, only paying attention to his friends' teams. Most of the people from the random friend group got atleast one person from LS-6, somehow, with only Impulse, Skizz, and Tango as the exception. Though, that's only because the three got in a team with another one of their close friends and someone from HC-10, Zed. Scott would bet that atleast one of them did some illegal stuff to be in the same team.

The teal haired was still waiting for his turn when the announcer pricked up his ears. "For the twenty fourth team, we have Pili Cat, Mythical J. Sausage, Zam Prince, and James Solidarity. Please come to the stage."

Scott frowned as that meant he and Jimmy weren't in the same team. Still, he watched as Pili, Sausage, and someone he guessed was Zam go to the stage. Everything felt silent as Scott searched the crowd for his poppy, only to not find him.

"James Solidarity, please come to the stage," the announcer tried again, only to be met with silence once again.

"He did say he was coming, right?" Pearl wondered, trying to search for her brother, coming out empty handed. "I mean, he wouldn't just leave-"

Someone pushed a bruised Jimmy into the room, a collective gasp coming from most of the students.

Scott couldn't help himself but shout, "JIMMY!"
