   Summary

   Vulcan gets destroyed by a vengeful Romulan terrorist, leaving Carol Marcus dead and Jim with a son to raise. Sarek can no longer reasonably care for Saavik, and so persuades Spock to adopt her.

   David wants a real family. Saavik wants Spock to be happy. Together they come up with a plan.
