Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

[Musutafu, July 11th 2316]

“Not all men are created equal”. Izuku Midoriya learned that at the age of 4, when he was diagnosed as Quirkless. In his world, humans have evolved with powers, called quirks. 80% of Earth’s population have it. But, he’s in the 20% of the population, the Quirkless. In a world where one’s worth is determined by their quirk, the Quirkless are viewed as a nobody. When it’s not much of a problem for the older generations, it’s quite a large problem for the younger ones, like Izuku Midoriya.

When he asked his mother if he could become a hero, his mother just broke down and continuously apologized to him. Izuku’s sobbing devolved into crying with his mother hugging him. He only wanted to hear his mother say “Yes, youcould.”, but what he got were apologies for the one thing they couldn’t control.

When Katsuki Bakugou’s quirk manifested, he was praised for his heroic quirk. He was a good friend of Izuku Midoriya, until he got his quirk. And he began bullying Izuku for his Quirklessness. He began calling him “Deku”, telling him that his dream is unrealistic, and exploding him with his quirk every time he stands up defending other kids he bullied.

He kept chasing his dream, he knows that he’ll need to try twice as hard as other people to achieve his dream, and he began to analyze heroes and villains, breaking down quirks, and eventually training his body. He taught himself how to defend himself, and studied for things over his age. His drive was what drives him to keep living. At least, until that day.

It was just another day of school for Izuku Midoriya, a 13-year-old junior high school student. He still dreams to be a hero, he’s still a scrawny, short kid with some muscles. Enough to defend himself, but he’s still froze up when Bakugou let off explosions near him.

He was still sore after defending a kid with a weak quirk that was being bullied by Bakugou and his lackeys. He probably doesn’t even see them as friends. So, he opted to eat his lunch in the classroom alone, while writing an entry on a new hero that just debuted; Kamui Woods

He just debuted a few days ago, getting famous for capturing numerous villains quickly. He already got quite a lot of notes on him, almost 1 and a half pages worth of observations in his “Hero Analysis for The Future Volume 12” notebook.

He was sitting on top of his school railing on a lunch break. Just finished his lunch, he checked some news on his phone to add more entries to his hero notebook. Or, for his classmates; “Stalker Notebook”. It was Kacchan’s idea to call it that, really. But he could care less, he has been bullied for 9 years. And if they want to keep doing it, at least All Might said anyone can be a hero.

Izuku then heard a stomping sound behind him. Deciding to not worry about it, he continues on writing his hero notebook. But, either it’s just his luck or he really is scared. Katsuki barged out of the door to the roof and startled him. Resulted in him falling down the rooftop into the ground below.

Izuku heard Kacchan called him by his derogatory nickname “Heh, even when in emergency he still calls me useless” he thought. Before he hit the ground, he heard several other screams, and then a bright mix of white and purple, and then… darkness and pain.

[Outside of London, March 16th 2016]

Soap was in his office, dealing with towers of paperwork. He does this job quite often, but he actually hates this part of the job more than the fighting part. He actually likes writing, but the problem is the amount of said paperwork. Heh, maybe he should ask Captain Price to give these to Macmillan.

Price… that old man. Operation Kingfish -the last mission he and Price have together- went really bad. They got information on Makarov’s plan, but of course that bastard had to put a goddamn C4 under the table. Luckily all of them managed to get out safely and ran to the extraction point… until he got injured by a nearby explosion and his team has to drag him into the heli. The operation made them lost an AC-130 and their captain. Price stayed behind to ensure their escape.

He eventually got out of that train of thought, continuing his work. But he got interrupted by his second-in-command. Simon “Ghost” Riley, he was doing some work in the security terminal when he noticed something happened near the airfield. From the looks of Ghost’s balaclava-covered face. It was quite urgent.

“What’s the problem, mate?” John “Soap” MacTavish asked. Ever since he’s promoted into captain, he was called by the name “MacTavish” instead of Soap.

“Sir, you need to come with me. It’s urgent!” Ghost said quickly and clearly. “Another anomaly is currently happening near the airfield.”

“Another bloody anomaly?” Soap asked back. Honestly, all of this started to feel like a weird dream involving the SCP foundation or something similar. “What kind of anomaly this one is?”

“You better see it for yourself, sir.” Ghost replied.

After they reached the airfield, they saw several 141 personnel already there. Some have armed themselves with assault rifles and submachine guns, Gary “Roach” Sanderson was holding a machine gun, some others have cameras and other instruments that the government gave to them in case of another anomaly happening near their base. They were aiming at a white and purple vortex floating on a patch of grass floating 5 meters in the air.

“Is this the government experiment that you talked about the other day?” Soap asked.

“No, sir.” Ghost replied with a shook. “They only managed to open a portal for a friction of a second before it collapsed again. They only have a small amount of data from that junk portal incident.”

“Roach, any contact from the portal?” Soap asked as he readied his M1911.

“Negative, sir.”
Before Soap can say anything else, the portal shone as bright as a flashbang and something -or rather someone- came out of the portal. The light was blinding the personnel briefly, the instant their sight recovered, they saw a boy in a Japanese middle school uniform with injuries from falling.

“Bloody hell. A boy!?” Soap, Ghost and other 141 members are in shock.

“He’s injured. Someone, get a medic!!” Soap barked. Ghost quickly check his pulse, when he felt his pulse, he’s somewhat relieved.

“His pulse is weak. We need to get him to the infirmary.” Ghost said to the medic that has arrived on the scene.

“Alright, let’s pick him up. The rest of you, send any valuable data to the higher ups. We’ll eventually need to bring him back to wherever he came from.” Soap said as he, Ghost, and several medic operators put him on a stretcher and about to bring him to the infirmary.

Roach along with other on-site 141 personnel echoed a “Yes sir!” just before they ran off to do their job.

They tended his injuries quickly, to say his injuries were bad was an understatement. His only saving was that he landed on a patch of grass, not a hard asphalt a few meters near it. he has several broken bones, cuts, bruises, burn marks (several were mysteriously shaped like hands), and a concussion.

[TF 141 HQ, March 20th 2016]

Izuku slowly opened his eyes. His eyes slowly adjusting to the brightness of the room he’s in. He saw the lamp above him. He felt the soft bed under him and the blanket that covered him, and the dull ache of an IV drip on his left arm. He rolled his eyes and saw the IV bag and a blood bag that were hanging on a metal pole, and an EKG machine near it.

He was confused, one second, he was at his school, and now he was in a hospital room. But he was thankful his fall wasn’t that high up.

He then slowly lifted his upper body to look around the room. It was different than a regular hospital room. But, overall, it’s the same. Then, he saw a calendar and focused at it. When he saw the year, his eyes widened in surprise.

“2016? That’s 300 years ago!” he said in surprise. He started to mumble about how he ended up 300 years in the past, and started to see the differences in the timeline as he looked out of the window.

“Inthehistoryofquirks,itwasstatedthatthefirstquirkswereappearedatthestartofthe21stcentury,meaningthe2000sandthatalsothestartofquirkwarswasinthe2010s.Ifthisisthepast,thentherewillbemorechaosthanitiscurrently.Ifthisisanalternateuniverse,thenitwouldmakesensethattheabsenceofquirkwillmakethisworldmorepeaceful.Andmuttermuttermuttermuttermutter…”

He was so focused on his muttering that he didn’t realize that people were entering his room at the start of his mutter storm.

One of the men coughed to gain his attention. He has a mohawk, his eyes were brown and he has a scar on his left eye. He was wearing a formal military uniform with badges on his left chest. “Ah, you’re finally awake.” He greeted.

Izuku tensed in reflex after seeing a bunch of men in military uniform. Especially when he saw one in a skull balaclava.

Seeing him tense, The Man wearing a Skull Balaclava comforted Izuku. “Calm down, my boy. We’re not here to hurt you, we just want to check on you, and maybe ask a few questions.”

Izuku was glad that he’s fluent in English. If not, he’d be more nervous than he is right now.

Izuku’s shoulders relaxed thanks to the reassurance. Then, he looked around him again, confused. “Where… am I? and… is it true that this is year 2016?”

“You’re in the Task Force 141 HQ, just outside London.” Soap replied. “And yes, this is year 2016.”

Izuku’s mood lowered after he got that confirmation. ‘How am I going to go back?’

“Before we ask another question, may I ask your name?”
“U-um… Iz-Izuku Midoriya, sir.” He answered nervously.

“Alright, Mr. Midoriya-,“ Soap got interrupted by Izuku before he could finish his sentence.
“Just I-Izuku is fine.”

“Alright, Izuku, we’ll introduce ourselves first. My name is John MacTavish. The captain of this Task Force. The old man over there is Director MacMillan, director of the UK Special Forces.” He said as he pointed to himself then to Mac.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, young man.” Macmillan nodded with a smile.

“The Russian on my left is Nikolai. Our ex-informant, our Pilot, Hacker, and Overall, The best operative in this unit.”

“Nice to meet you.”

“This mysterious bloke over there is Simon Riley. Also known as his nickname, Ghost. He’s my second-in-command.” Soap pointed at Ghost.

“Nice to meet you, mate.” Ghost said to Izuku. “Also, I saw you tensed when you looked at me. It’s because of my mask, isn’t it?” his uplifting tone masked his creepy appearance.

“Ye-Yeah…” he sheepishly smiled, scratching the back of his head for good measure.

Soap then asked him a few light questions. Some answers are just simple, but when he asked about his earlier muttering and quirks… his mouth just shifted into higher gear and he almost seemed to have infinite breath. But eventually, they got all of the important information.

“Alright, Izuku, we’ll try to get you back home. When you’re here, you’ll be on my care. And we’ll help you to achieve your dream. If the government can finish their Project in 2 years. If not, there’s still some other way, right?” Soap said to Izuku.

He never felt happier around strangers, but he couldn’t help for worrying about his mother.

(He Wonders what their Quirks are.)

Chapter Text

[A few days after Incident “Green Valley Anomaly”]

Izuku got accustomed to his new home pretty quickly. As the technology in this world is almost the same as the tech in his world. He also got to train with some 141 personnel, mainly with Soap, Roach and Ghost. which he was thankful about.

When he asked them about quirks, or if he refer to an older name; meta ability. He was shocked by their answer.

“This world doesn’t have quirks?!” he loudly said in disbelief.

“Um, yes?” Soap doesn’t exactly know what did Izuku meant by “Quirks”. “Actually, what are these ‘Quirks’ that you’re talking about so often?”

“It’s the most amazing thing humanity ever got. It’s a type of superpower that people have I their DNA. the first evidence of its existence was the glowing baby in China that was born in the early… 21st century… the exact year was… 2002. Which followed by Anti-Meta War in the 2010s… which this world seems to not have…” Izuku finally connected the dots of the final difference of this world and his. Which rooted the safety of his actions that won’t change the future of both universes, maybe.

“Yeah, we don’t have Meta powers or Quirks and the war that broke out due to that. Here we only have to worry about Russian Ultranationalists. The very reason this Task Force was formed.” He said to Izuku.

[4 Months Later]

They were relaxing on Jubilee’s Garden after they have a lunch. It was weekend, and Soap was on a break. So, they had the time to relax a bit after all of the things they have been through. For Soap it was more paperwork, training Izuku some hand-to-hand combat and a bit of gun wielding (Since Izuku told him that there are a lot of criminal activity where he came from), and other things he does in the base. For Izuku, it was school, getting British citizenship, information on his world, and training.

He also owed a favor for avoiding the government’s further questioning (namely the more sensitive ones that he didn’t want to answer, and several questionable tests). It was mostly not his fault, really. The person who was in charge of him when Soap was busy with his tasks were underestimating some things.

The result? If he was proficient and skilled enough, he will be enlisted to the 141 if the war broke out or if he asked. And his analytical mind was proven to be quite useful in the Task Force. It wasn’t really a problem for him, since if it means protecting innocent people, he will get through it.

Although Soap didn’t recommend him to ask to join 141. Since he’s still a child, and the fact that he was from another world.

“I was thinking about something, Soap.” He said to Soap. “Why did you all don’t really seem to be wary or careful around me? I mean, I could be someone with bad intent or a villain. So, why did you and the others seem so nonchalant about this?”

“There was someone else that were came from another world. But unlike you, he came by a different method, and from a different time. He said something about Meta-ability, and his in particular lets him travel to any place he desired the most. But the government chased him for questioning and tests.” Soap looked to the river as he said the following sentence. “He committed suicide after being chased down for weeks, cause of the stress that he was building up.”

“Meta-ability… he was from the quirk war era.”

Feeling the mood dropped, Soap decided to change the topic. “Speaking of quirks… do you know any uhm… pro heroes that have non-combative quirk but still proficient in their job?”

“AH! There are Eraserhead, who can deactivate someone else’s quirk except mutant-class. And there’s Rock Lock, who can freeze inanimate object in its location while keeping the object’s momentum. Sir Nighteye whose quirk is the ability to look at someone’s future. Although I still don’t know if it’s only a potential future or a likely future… Ah. There’s Power Loader as well… and also Ms. Joke…” Izuku kept rambling about heroes. Soap was really glad that Izuku was able to relax and forget about anything when he was talking about heroes.

Soap was aware about how Izuku interacts with new people, how he always scared of them like he was expecting for the worst to happen; a sign of bullying victim. So, they slowly changed Izuku to being less nervous around people. And he still had a little bit of that thought that he was useless from the fact that he was quirkless. It was buried quite deep, but the bullying that was going on for quite some time (About 9 years if he remembered Izuku said that).

After 4 months, his mental side was a lot better along with his physical side. And the Ultranationalists were silent as far as they know. But, knowing them, they were just waiting for the right time to strike. If it happened when Izuku is still here, he didn’t want Izuku to get roped into it as well. Or at the very least he would only be doing intelligence at most.

At the very least, he didn’t stutter when meeting someone new, or being passive aggressive at others when he’s not feeling too great around someone he knows. (Yes, he did that once to Ghost when he snuck up to him when he’s analyzing something). But his muttering habit is still there. Although it has reduced in volume into mere whispers at most.

His self-esteem also got improved after 4 months in this world.

This world wouldn’t turn into hell. Hopefully not too quickly.

[a few weeks later]

“I knew peace for this long is too good to be true…” Soap lamented as he looked at Izuku who was looking at a screen in their house.

“Yup… I think it’s the Russian terrorist organization. Ouch, I still need to remember that scar still hurts.” Izuku said after he listened to what had happened on his last trip to the Buckingham Palace. One moment he was there, another he was on a hospital.

They said that some terrorists attacked the place. Their weapons were Russian made, and apparently, he killed 5 of 8 terrorists there. He got a Victorian Cross medal for his bravery.

He didn’t take that very well at first. But, after Soap reassured him that if he didn’t react in time, more people would be killed in that fiasco.

“Makarov just started a fucking war.” Ghost said after Izuku concluded his analysis.

“Soap?”

“Yes?”

“I want to go fight with you as well.” Izuku looked at Soap. His eyes had that fire that Soap had seen multiple times in new recruits; Determination, Rage, and Hatred.

“Izuku, I think that’s not the best choice- “. Izuku interrupted Soap as he punched a wall next to him.
“They killed innocents, Soap. I won’t let him get away with this.” He said with venom in his voice as he mentioned Makarov.

He was originally planned to be an analytic for the 141 if the war ever broke out. But now, the main reason why he talked to Soap was to ask him to join them to work on the field. To find Makarov, and kill him.

All of the rage from his torment for nine years finally came out all at once. And all of it were directed at one person who was responsible for the death of hundreds of people in the Buckingham Palace. And probably will increase in time.

“Soap, do you still have a grudge on him?” Izuku asked Soap, who just nodded. “Because now I am too. For the families of those who got killed in the massacre, and for his next victims. We will find him, and kill him.” Izuku snarled the last sentence.  Turning then looking at Soap. Ferocity in his eyes.

Soap was left speechless. The boy, The Child, who was always so timid on around strangers, immediately   overcome with Righteous anger, A Hero that would truly do anything to protect their own people. Even if it costs their own wellbeing and life. But then again, Soap was reminded that the world Izuku came from was more dangerous than his. But he still worried about him.

After a few minutes of silence, Soap finally asked. “Izuku… are you really sure about this?”

“Yes. This is what I want- have to do.” Izuku nodded. “I’m not going to until they are stopped. No matter what.” Izuku says with absolute conviction.

Soap, defeated. Just sighed, not being able to change Izuku’s mind. “Well then, Izuku. We’ll see you on the battlefield with us.”

Chapter Text

[TF141 HQ, April 8th 2018, 06:00 AM]

Izuku was sleeping on his desk after pulling his 3rd all-nighterh to finish his stacks upon stacks of paperwork. He was sleeping so soundly that nobody wanted to wake him up. Especially after so much had happened to him during WW3. Soap and Roach’s deaths especially took a toll on him. But he’s getting better on managing his emotions.

But his drinking habit hasn’t really vanished yet. On Christmas he drank 4 bottles of vodka with the Russian Loyalists that joined the new 141 alongside Ghost, Price, and many others that are quite close to them.

And after that he was promoted to be the captain of the 141, he had been overworking himself too many times like the past 3 days. Most of the recent ones were the transfer files for his battalion that would be coming with him back to his universe. Their reasons are quite varied. Ranging from just wanting to follow their leader to not really having anywhere else to go.

Project: Meta-Portal was finished a few months before. But Izuku decided to finish his work in this world first before he went home. And that batch that he’d finished was the last ones he had to do before packing. In the time he’s finishing his work, scouts were sent to the other side and had picked a site to build their HQ. And around 100 people, 30 from the 141 and 70 from the Russian Loyalists took the hero licensing exam. Not for the quirk use permit part, but for the law enforcement and investigation part of the license since all of them are Quirkless.

It was all Izuku’s idea after he heard that his men want to follow him back to his home.

Izuku was woken up by the sound of gunshots and the door to his room creaking. “Good morning, Ghost.” He greeted the person on the door.

I thought you’re sleeping. Good morning, mate.” Ghost replied

I just woke up. I heard someone shooting their guns. I also heard you opened the door.”

You sound like an old man.” Ghost snarked as he sat on a chair in front of Izuku’s desk.

Yeah, sure, Ghost.” Izuku cracked his neck. “You know exactly why.” He said as he gestured at the pile of paperwork.

Ghost looked at the stack of paperwork on the finished pile. And the empty space that was the place for the unfinished pile.

I guess these are the final papers?”

Yeah. I just have to give these to the higher ups and go pack my stuff.” Izuku stood up to grab the paperwork, before Ghost stopped him.

Let me deliver this for you, Cap. You go and pack your belongings and sleep. You have a big day tomorrow.” Ghost said as he squeezed Izuku’s shoulder and packed the paperwork into a large box.

Thank you, Ghost.” Izuku yawned after he thanked his Lt.

“No problem mate, now go before you fall asleep again.” Ghost said before he went to deliver Izuku’s paperwork.

Izuku was at his house in Kennington Road, packing the rest of his belongings after he finished packing at TF141 HQ. a lot of memories were there in photos and objects. As looked at the attic, he found a photo that was torn from repeatedly throwing knives at it.

Shepherd. That bastard, he narrowly escaped from him and Ghost when they retrieved the DSM. He betrayed them, he killed Roach and shot Ghost on his stomach. It was a good thing that he managed to call the loyalists for help and track down Shepherd to Site Hotel Bravo -He got it from Price after he called Price and Soap while they were at the Boneyard. Good thing that he killed Shepherd.

He decided to burn the photo as he didn’t need a reminder of his face anywhere in his old home. But he kept the knife that he used to kill Shepherd.

After he went out of the attic, he took the photo of him, Price, Soap and Ghost together after their mission and placed it in his backpack.

Soap… I’ll go to my home now, I’ll become a hero. A hero who will become the symbol of hope for the people, and the symbol of terror for villains.” He said to himself, tearing up.

After he finished packing his belonging in his house, he decided to go to a café to get rid of his sleepiness for a few more hours. It was noon when he finished packing up, so he thought that he’d sleep later when the sun set or near sunset.

Welcome to Rhine Café- Hey, Zu!”

Olivia, long time no see. How are you doing?”

I’m good as usual, how about you, Zu?

I’m a little bit sleepy -okay maybe not just a little bit. I just want to visit my favorite café before I go home.” Izuku said to Olivia.

So, what’s your order, Mr. I come from another world?” she asked.

Just a black coffee. By the way, how are you holding up this past year?” Izuku said as he sat on a table near the counter.

I’m mostly okay, although the news about WW3 worried me, we’ve never got in between a fight here. And Margaret isn’t too concerned. Although Valerie was really concerned about you. Hearing that you were hiding somewhere really made her fiery personality really show itself.” Olivia giggled at the memory.

Olivia Silence was the owner of Rhine Café, she has chin length dark brown hair cut in a bob cut style with some strands that looked like feathers at first glance. She had light brown eyes and wore circular glasses. She was currently wearing a white shirt with an image of a great horned owl printed on it, a green knee-length skirt and an apron with the same great horned owl picture and then the café’s logo printed on.

When they finished their small talk, a girl around 3 or 4 years younger than Izuku came out with a black coffee. She had ash blonde hair that was tied in short twin ponytails. She wore a T-shirt that had the word “Ifrit” written on it in a fiery font. She also wore a patterned white, orange and black skirt with orange on the inside and white and black on the outside forming crossing rectangles pattern.

Izuku himself was currently wearing his usual white T-shirt with the word “T-Shirt” printed on it, he also wore a pair of jeans pants and his red high tops. He began to adopt Price’s style by wearing boonie hats occasionally and wearing utility belts. His hair now reached his shoulders and if not moved or combed his right eye would have been covered by his hair.

That eye that had a vertical scar from above his eyebrow to just above his cheek, almost touching it.

Hey there, Val. How’re you holding up? Still like to burn your projects?” Izuku greeted his friend. She slightly reminded him of Kac-Bakugou, but she’s not too brash. Just generally noisy. Other than that, she’s quite friendly if you know her.

Valerie pouted at Izuku’s snark. “I haven’t burnt any of my new builds thank you very much.”

Including that new flamethrower on your back?” Izuku snorted at the reminder of where Valerie got the nickname “Ifrit” from; Her hobby with anything flammable and her passion in chemistry and engineering, plus her clumsiness with all three of them combined. “I’m joking, I’m joking. Mostly…

On that, Valerie lightly punched Izuku’s shoulder that caused a small bit of his coffee to spill on his right hand.

Fuck. Ouch, that’s hot.” Izuku instinctively cursed. Which gave him a scolding from Olivia.

He apologized soon after. Forgetting for one moment that a child was still there.

At the time he finished his coffee and their small talk, it was almost sunset. So, he said goodbye to them and took a photo with them as a reminder.

They were two of the few civilian friends that he had there. Since he rarely went out of the HQ or his house. Hell, even his education was mostly online schooling.

He was wondering about his graduation paper though, would a paper from 2017 get accepted? (It would) Or would he have to go back to Aldera? Well, it’s a problem for future Izuku. After he arrived at his bedroom, he immediately let himself fall into the bed and immediately fell asleep.

Tomorrow would be a long day.

[The next day, 11:00 A.M]

Izuku was standing in front of a bulky looking gateway. With Ghost, Nikolai, Yuri and Kamarov by his side. He was facing the people who decided to stay there. As well as the personnel from the SAS, MI5 and MI6, and scientists who were overseeing the upgraded prototype of the portal device.

It was breathtaking for Izuku, he was finally able to go home, back to his mom, Auntie Mitsuki, Uncle Masaru, and Katsuki.

Katsuki… “Let’s see if you’ve changed after all of this time I’m missing.” He thought.

He watched the last batch of the new 141, his 141 went into the portal straight into the new 141 HQ that was just finished building the main building and the airfield around 2 months ago.

It’s been a long time for both of us. I felt so woeful to see you going back home.” Price said, Izuku could only give a teary smile.

I know, Price… It’s been an honor to fight alongside you. Dad.” Izuku replied, and then more tears flew out of his eyes. Not quite the Midoriya tears, far from it. but it’s still quite a lot. “And Soap… I’m sorry I couldn’t save him.

It’s okay, Evergreen. It’s alright, you don’t need to apologize.” Price squatted down and squeezed Izuku’s shoulder.

You have my deepest condolences, young man.” Macmillan added. A tone of sadness could be heard from him. “He’ll be remembered as a hero of both the former SAS and the 141

Thank you… I know that sometimes you can’t save everyone. But I’ll have to do my best to save as many people as I can.” Izuku said with sadness, then determination.

And Yuri… I know why you decided to come with me. You don’t need to do this, you already done us a good favor by helping clearing our names.” Izuku just received a nod from that. He saw a hint of guilt still plastered on Yuri’s face.

Ready to go, son?” Price asked as Izuku looked at the white-purple portal that was opened in the middle of the gateway.

Yeah… I’m just really happy to finally get home.” Izuku said as he wiped his eyes from tears.

Don’t be too reckless out there. And please try not to die this time.” Price pats Izuku’s fluffy hair for the last time as he stood up.

I won’t. You should worry about yourself, old man. You almost died more times than I had.” Izuku replied with a smile.

Izuku and his men walked into the portal. Before he went through, he tipped his boonie hat and said goodbye to Price.

Goodbye, Captain Price.

Goodbye, Captain Midoriya.” Price nodded.

Come visit sometimes if you can.”

Heh, I doubt they would allow me to. I have so many things to do.

[Musutafu, April 8th 2318. Somewhere near Dagobah Beach]

After Izuku, Ghost, Yuri, Nikolai, and Kamarov walked out of the portal, the portal vanished and left no trace of its existence. And now from this day Izuku is back in his old world. It’s time for him along with the rest of the 141 to continue their legacy here, now as a hero agency that operates more like a Private Military Company.

There will be a lot of work for Izuku to do, but he was reminded that he didn’t have to do it alone. Ghost and his friends were there with him.

They walked out of the hangar where the portal was in to their not-so-hidden base and looked around. Their base was near the sea on a pretty secluded area. Enough to not raise suspicion of a portal suddenly appearing and public enough for it to be known as a hero agency building.

If said hero agency had an airfield, hangars, docks, and everything a military company would need. It was afternoon at the moment and conveniently the same day as the day in Ghost’s universe. They found out that their portal’s time calibration device was calibrated to the same time as this universe’s London. So that means that he still had 10 more months before the U.A entrance exam.

They met some of his men in front of a campfire near the runway to warm themselves up and have some time to see the night sky. The men they met then stood up and saluted them as they saw them, and Izuku returned the gesture.

As they walked to the main building, which has barracks, armory and command center in it, they were greeted by an energetic music that was sung by Sabaton.

Wait, Sabaton hadn’t released any song about Bismarck.

Ah… about that, some Russians messed with the time calibration and browsed the internet in year 2020. Some songs that existed in the 2010s there don’t exist here.” An American 141 soldier on the campfire said.

Izuku just facepalmed at that. “I swear if they do another unsupervised experiment again, I’ll make them clean the bathrooms for an entire month.

Also, Sergeant, it’s quite a nice base you got here.” Izuku looked around to see the rest of the base with a smile.

Yes, it is. We can even make our own ammunitions and weapons in this base. The Russian scientist wannabes you have here already made 2 new ammo types.” The soldier said.

For bloody real?” Ghost said in astonishment. Someone whistled in the background. “They really invested a lot after that war, huh?

Well, this is mostly from all of us, since this is our new start to continue our job as the 141. Also, we’ll start a new life here.” An Australian Staff Sergeant said.

They continued their walk to the command center to discuss their work in the “Quirkyverse” as they call it.

As they arrived, they each sat on their respective seats with Izuku in the Captain position.

So, for starters, we’ll work as a “hero agency”. So, as far as I know, containment is prioritized over killing. But we also function like a PMC. At least from what I’ve heard. So, we’ll have less paperwork if we set a dangerous target as “Kill on Sight”. Like the Hero Killer for example. Ghost here already negotiated with the police force, the government and JSDF and he managed to avoid any unneeded attention from the HPSC to let us operate independently.”

Also, where’s this base built exactly?” He said as he looked at the map.

North of Dagobah Municipal Beach, Mustafar.” A French soldier said. He received a glare from Izuku, which combined with his battle scars looked quite scary even for hardened soldiers. “Uhm… Are you okay, Cap?

First, It’s Musutafu, second, that’s close to my old home.” Izuku stated flatly. “No wonder I could smell a faint hint of junk.

So, anything else you need to tell me? Oh yeah. What about the new ammunition types?” Izuku asked not to a specific person.

Ah, one is a cryogenic bullet, called “Helheim” bullets. The other one is an amped up incendiary bullets called “Pyrotheum” bullets.” Viktor said. He was one of the people who suggested the creation of those bullets. One for detaining. . .difficult villains. And the other was for taking criminals with regenerative quirks.

Other than that, nothing more than checking out everything at our disposal, Captain Midoriya.” Viktor added. Izuku and Ghost nodded in return.

Alright, get back to work, comrades.” Izuku said in a stern tone as he stood up from his chair. “Looks like most of you have some work to do.”

A choir of “Yes, sir.” Echoed in the room, then the room emptied and only Izuku and Ghost are left.

Are you alright, Mate?” Ghost asked as he noticed the distant look on Izuku’s face.

Yeah, I just miss my mom. I originally planning on continue working overnight. But, after hearing that we’re in Musutafu, I have to visit her or even move there.” Izuku replied.

Ghost offered him to do the paperwork for him, and let Izuku take some rest for at least a week. Izuku was surprised by the offer, and asked Ghost if he’s sure about it.

A-are you sure, mate? I don’t really want to burden you.”

I’m sure, Cap. You need to take it easier, you’re the youngest member here. I can handle most of the work.”

Thank you, Ghost.”  Izuku said quietly. And then silence filled the room.

So, you said your home is in Musutafu, right?” Ghost broke the silence.

Да. Why?” Izuku replied weakly.

I can take you to your home, if you could show me the way.” Ghost patted Izuku’s shoulder as he suggested it.

Sounds like a plan.” Izuku agreed with a nod.

[Midoriya Residence, Same Night]

Inko was having a dinner with the Bakugous. Since Izuku was missing, Katsuki began to visit Inko often and help her whenever he could. With his parents coming a few times like tonight.

He was reluctant at first, but as Izuku’s missing case went cold, he became devoted to change for the better and be the hero Izuku want him to be. Coming to Inko’s apartment was a routine for him at this point.

When he told Inko that he bullied Izuku ever since they were 4 almost 5, Inko forgave him for at least trying to atone for what he had done. And if Izuku ever came back, he has- will apologize to him. But she didn’t specify when, so he would apologize when he was comfortable with it.

It also leaded to his therapy sessions and later on his whole family, as he found out that his mother’s behavior is not normal and is almost considered abusive and violent.

The dinner was silent. It was originally planned as a distraction for Inko from feeling devastated that his baby boy was possibly dead. After his case went cold after just under a year of him missing, Inko started stress eating again, and it made Mitsuki worried.

They ate in silence for a while, and then Inko started a conversation by asking Katsuki. “So, Katsuki, you want to go to U.A?”

“Yeah, I am. I will be a hero that the nerd Izu want me to be. The greatest hero ever. The hero that saved everyone with a smile.” Katsuki answered. He never called Izuku “Deku” after he apologized to Inko. It was quite hard to do, but it was easier to do than not calling his mother “Hag”.

“Welp, there goes the distraction plan Mitsuki thought.

As Inko opened her mouth to say something, the doorbell rang, interrupting their conversation.

“I’ll get the door.” Katsuki said as he stood up from his chair to get whoever the fuck interrupted their dinner.

Katsuki opened the door to reveal the person- er, people- standing in front of the door. One was a scary fucker wearing a skull mask and a sunglass at night and headphones on his head. He was wearing a military themed jacket with ziplines on the arms. And his pants had a winter camo pattern. He also wore what definitely looks like a bulletproof vest.

And the other person, who was standing in front of the man… Katsuki was surprised to see him. He wore the same jacket and vest as Skull Face, but he wore a black combat T-shirt under all of that and his pants were white. He also wore a boonie hat and a pair of red combat shoes.

But the face of said person was the most surprising of it all. It was D-Izuku.

"So... You're not dead." Katsuki said, not sure how to start their conversation.

"... wish I was." Izuku replied, also not knowing what to say. He wasn’t expecting Katsuki to be in his mom’s apartment.

"What happened, Izu?" Katsuki asked. Then silence loomed the atmosphere. It was quite uncomfortable, and awkward.

"T-that felt weird."

"You're making it feel weird. Nerd." Katsuki said, he was totally not holding his tears. Not at all, he got dust on his eyes. He also didn’t notice that Izuku was smiling at him.

As they’re having their awkward conversation, the parents are waiting for Katsuki to come back and tell them who’s on the door.

“What’s taking him so long?” Mitsuki said. “He hasn’t usually taken this long to answer someone at the door, he usually just opens the door and yells at me.”

As Mitsuki said that, Katsuki called Inko to come to the door. Saying that someone important was asking for her. Inko looked at Mitsuki and Masaru, the former gestured her head to the door’s direction.

When Inko saw who’s on the door, especially the one who was right in front of Katsuki. She hugged Izuku like he’d vanish as soon as she released him.

“IZUKU!! I missed you so much! Are you okay? Where have you been? How did you return?” Inko asked Izuku, and more questions escaped her mouth until Izuku returned the hug. His hug was powerful, but also soft and warm.

“Don’t worry, mom. I am here.” Izuku soothed his crying mom, while he’s also shedding tears. Although he didn’t cry as much anymore since his induction to the 141.

After his mother calmed down, which taking a lot quicker than he’d expected, he released his hug and turned to Inko then to Ghost.

“Um, mom. I want to introduce you to someone. This is Simon Riley, but please call him Ghost.” Izuku pointed his hand at Ghost.

“Nice to meet you, ma’am. I see that Captain Midoriya has such a lovely mother.” Ghost said in Japanese with his British accent still apparent.

“Captain Midoriya?” Inko thought as she wondered why a new hero who worked both at underground and spotlight called her son “Captain”. She stored that question for later as Izuku talked to Ghost like someone who was talking to their older sibling. A smile formed on her face.

“Say, Ghost-san-.”

“Please, drop the honorific. Don’t need to be formal with me.”

“Alright then. Ghost, would you like to eat dinner with us?” Inko asked. Bakugou already left them a while ago as he thought that he wasn’t needed there.

Ghost threw a wordless question to Izuku. He just smiled and oh goddamnit, it’s the same smile as the one he used when he declared that Ghost is a part of his family.

“Just accept it, we still have plenty of times. Besides, Mom would go into Mama Bear mode when she learned anything about your past.” Izuku said, with the last sentence in English. Probably so Inko wouldn’t catch any of it. But oh boy did he underestimated Inko’s motherly instinct and her language skill.

As they got in with Izuku’s backpack and luggage in tow, Inko went ahead of them to prepare more food for Izuku and Ghost.

Inko had just finished preparing their dinner when the two put down Izuku’s belongings on the door to his room. There were exactly 6 chairs on the dining table, enough for all of them to eat dinner. Izuku sat opposite of Inko and beside Ghost.

Izuku saw Ghost hesitated for a bit, before he took deep breathes and took off his headgears. Slowly but surely, he took off his balaclava after his sunglasses and headphone. As Ghost finished taking off his skull balaclava, Izuku gave him a smile.

For the record, I still won’t just take off my mask around strangers. But this is an exception.” Ghost muttered to Izuku. who just shrugged at it and said “You’ll eventually get used to it, Ghost. Your mask is quite suspicious for people who don’t know you. They’d think you’re a villain.

Ghost just gave Izuku his okay-sure thing looks, and they ate their diner in silence until Katsuki broke the ice by asking Izuku. “Hey nerd. Where’d you gone to?”

Izuku tensed for a split second and then relaxed immediately. Already reminded himself about Katsuki changing for the better and him had went through worse. Began his explanation. “Before I explain my… situation. Let me introduce my friend. His name is Simon Riley, but as you’ve probably heard from me, he usually called Ghost. He’s one of the people who took care of me when I’m gone. He’s a soldier of Task Force 141 as a Lieutenant. Also, any and all information that will be said here will not come out of this room.”

Inko, Mitsuki, Masaru and Katsuki all nodded in agreement. Izuku smiled in satisfaction

“As for where I was in this past almost two years. I was sent to London, England, by a portal quirk. Not only has it sent me all the way to the other side of the Earth, I was sent to the year 2016 of another world. A world where instead of quirks existing to cause a hundred-year long war, there was an ultranationalist party emerging in Russia that sparked WW3.”

Izuku moved on and explained how he was initially a strategist for the 141 in exchange for his trans dimensional refugee status (a made-up status) and for all of his paperwork and light training with the 141. But then because of an unfortunate circumstance he volunteered to become a field combatant to help them more directly. And their battle against the terrorist party when they’re basically a PMC and Wanted criminals in the eyes of the government, until the clearance of their names and Izuku’s therapy following the end of the war.

“So, that’s basically it.” Izuku said after he explained his story. It took him more than 10 minutes to explain everything to them. “I’ve had quite a lot of PTSD-induced panic attacks since then but now I have less and less episodes. Now, it’s only triggered in a very specific circumstance.”

Everyone on the small dining table grimaced a bit when they hear Izuku was an active combatant, but there was also relief that he was still alive and with them now. Then, everyone went silent again as they don’t know what to say to lift the mood.

The rest of the night was as uneventful as expected. Other than some small talk between them and Katsuki being curious on what Izuku brought with him, everything was as normal as it could be. Ghost went back to the base shortly after the dinner. The Bakugous followed shortly after.

Izuku went to unpack his belongings in his bedroom, he had told Ghost that he’s okay with unpacking it himself. besides, the work in the base was still a lot. And Izuku don’t want to give his Lieutenant even more work. He took in the sight of his room for the first time in almost two years.

“Wow… I was a huge fanboy, wasn’t I?” He said as he dropped the first duffle bag near his wardrobe. Realizing that his All Might posters are a bit… underwhelming for him now.

After he saw and experienced the horror of WW3.

He decided to not delve into that mess now, and chosen to focus on unpacking instead. As Izuku unpacked his clothes, Inko went into his bedroom. “Izuku, do you need any help?” Inko asked.

“Sure, mom. I’d appreciate it, but leave that large rectangular green crate to me.” Izuku said without stopping his unpacking. He was done when his mother moved the last bag sans the aforementioned green crate.

He also carefully removed most of his All Might posters, keeping the collector’s edition and other hero posters that he liked. And he replaced some of the posters with his after-mission photos and posters of guns and blueprints of this world’s support item plans. He also installed a gun rack on a wall near his bed.

Inko also finished helping Izuku unpacked his belongings, and all that’s left were the green crate that Izuku specifically said to not touch.

“Um… right. Mom, before I tell you what’s in that crate, promise me you won’t freak out, okay?” Izuku nervously scratched the back of his head.

“If you say so, Izuku…” his mom said, uncertain with what to expect just by his nervous stature and voice.

He nodded and brought in his green crate. It was quite a large crate, and heavy as well. He placed it near his bed where he installed the gun racks for easy access. And looked at his mom again before he unlocked the two clips at the front side of the crate and flipped it open.

As he opened it, Inko almost freaked out if Izuku didn’t convince her tell her to calm down again and he explained that he has a reason to have it with him. “Mom, I’m a captain, and it won’t hurt to be too cautious. Besides, I always have at least my 5-7 with me.”

Inside the crate was an M4A1 complete with SOPMOD kit and four extra magazines and a crate of ammunition. Under the rifle compartment was another compartment with a Glock 18, a flashlight and a box of 9mm ammo.

After he had explained thoroughly (again) why exactly he needs two (four, if you include the FN Five-seven and combat knife on his belt) weapons with him, he was left alone to have some privacy.

His bedroom, that once was an All Might shrine, now has transformed into a mix of a hero otaku’s and a hardened soldier’s room. Well, the soldier part is minor but it’s still there.

He looked at the night sky from his bedroom window. The sky only had the brightest of stars that shone through the light pollution of the city. At least it was a bit better than London, considering Musutafu was a less populated area that was remnants of the Dawn of Quirks era that hadn’t gotten any renovation ever since.

He wasn’t even that tired yet because time zones are a thing and it messes with his perception of time. Especially since it was probably still afternoon in England. Because of that, Izuku just decided to boot up his laptop that was surely counted as ancient era tech that somehow still worked better than most gaming laptops from this world.

And thanks to the Russian’s idea to separate their actual portal and the “entertainment” device, Izuku had collected quite a lot of games and music from the 2020 of the MWverse.

Most if not all of them were thankfully singleplayer so there wouldn’t be any terrible repercussion from it.

Hopefully

Izuku got out of his musing by a research complete notification from his game. Just in time, he really needed a dyson sphere for his next plan. Then, he got interrupted by a phone call from one of his men from the Loyalist army.

Looking at the name, he picked up the call and put it on speaker. And he picked up the call with one of his ‘I’m too occupied on something’ voice. “Что блять?”

Ah, captain. I was wondering if you’re already sleeping or not.” The loyalist said.

No, I’m not that sleepy yet, thanks to the caffeine you gave me a few hours ago. What do you need, Boris?” Izuku replied, eyes still glued to his game.

.

.

.

.

.

Sure…

Grea-

If you want to clean 100m2 of the beach around the base by yourself.” Izuku quickly interrupted. He doesn’t want anyone unqualified to work with genes and quirks before they properly learn about them. He didn’t want another lab disaster happening anytime soon. No, ever.

He actually planned to clean the beach, since the smell was bothering him ever since he stepped out of the portal. But since the first people who got there almost a year early were the Russians, they know about the location better, and know well how many trashes there were.

He can almost feel the engineer’s itch to reuse the free parts.

Izuku put his phone back down after he hung up the call, and tried to sleep more. Thanks to the caffeine wearing down he actually can go to sleep now.

Deep down, his hero nerd self that he still preserved until now was excited on the premise of meeting a hero.

Chapter Text

Early Sunday morning has arrived on Musutafu, Japan. The birds had awoken from their sleep long before Izuku’s alarm turned on. Izuku woke up with the tune of “красная армия всех сильней” by Lyube, he managed to program his other alarm that’s not an All Might alarm to play that song every 5 A.M. Izuku groaned as he popped his joints and only gave a flat smile to the new day.

Yes, he’s excited to meet Snipe and getting a gun license before he even get his provisional license. But… he also was not looking forward to possibly deal with his almost 3 centuries old middle school graduation documents, and then the possibility of having to attend Aldera again.

Nope, he’d rather try to beat Nezu in chess than being surrounded by quirkist kids again. And yes, he knew its weird calling people his age “kids”. But eh, they’re all still children nonetheless.

He looked at his computer screen near his bed to check on his E-mail. And he was greeted by the sight of an E-mail from U.A, which the contents said that his 2017 graduation certificate is somehow still eligible for registering at U.A. So, thankfully no Aldera for him. He just needed to officially drop out of that hellhole of a school sometime next week.

Izuku finally went out of his bedroom to the kitchen to brew a cup of coffee. After a couple of days trying to adjust back to Japan’s time, he finally got a really good night’s sleep without having to be sleep deprived to fall asleep at night (day for England).

“Oh, Izuku, Good Morning.” Inko greeted him as he entered the kitchen, smiling to him.

“Good morning, mom.” Izuku returned the smile.

“You seem happier than yesterday. Did you have enough sleep?”

“Yeah… thankfully. Hopefully today won’t be as bad as yesterday.”

“Izu dear, since when did you have that scar on your right eye?” Inko stopped her cooking to check her son’s eye. He just shaved his hair the day after his return. Including his bangs, and now his shrapnel scar is completely out in the open.

Izuku instinctively covered his right eye with his hand. “That day we got betrayed by Shepherd.” He explained as short as possible. Not wanting to have another restless night again.

Maybe this is the reason he had a bad mood these past 3 days… he wasn’t so sure. There were more important things he had to do. Getting his gun license until he got his provisional license and a carry license for everyday use.

After Izuku made his coffee, he helped his mom to prepare for breakfast and told his mom that he’ll go to his base to take a gun license along with the non-combatant people in his battalion.

“Izuku… are, are you sure you need this?” Inko asked Izuku with worry.

Izuku knows that his mother will worry about him, especially about his safety. Even though he already told her that he’s now practically a war veteran and probably has more battlefield experience than most heroes. But he kept his sigh internal. “Mom, I’m the leader of a battalion-sized military unit that turned into a hero agency now. I need to be able to use my self-defense weapon legally.” He then looked to the floor, just realized how different his world is compared to the world he’d left. “There’s nowhere truly safe. Just given the fact that we’re training what basically counts as child soldiers. Since there are so many super powered criminals out there.” Izuku said matter-of-factly.

“Besides… I don’t know if I can do other jobs as good as being a soldier. Or being a hero, for the closest comparison.” Izuku then looked at his mom with a small smile. “At least I can do is to protect you with my battle knowledge.”

“Okay, if it makes you happy.” Inko sighed. Even though she fears for her son’s safety like any good parent, his happiness is more important for her.

“Thanks, mom.”

[Same day, 10:25 AM. TF141 HQ]

Izuku arrived at his (It’s still unreal for him, having his own “hero” team even before becoming a hero) headquarter complex. This complex is the most complete one in terms of buildings and areas out of the other bases like the one in Hosu or Yokohama. Some small-time local heroes with ranged offensive quirks also sometimes use the training ground here that’s called “The Pit”.

Izuku went straight to The Pit and he immediately saw the 141’s support engineers and field medics are gathering there with Snipe already on the viewing area of The Pit.

“Oh, captain. You’re here.” Boris said as he noticed Izuku walking towards them.

“As I promised. So, is everyone here? I see that we have some unfamiliar faces.” Izuku said as he looked around him. Just as he’d said, there were some personnel with visible indicators of quirks. Meaning that they had just received some new personnel from this world.

One of them is a woman with wavy green hair that reaches her crocodile tail. She has yellow eyes that have reptile-like pupils and she has elf-like pointy ears instead of human ears. She currently wore the standard medic’s uniform with the 141 armband on her left arm. Above her right breast pocket, she has a name tag with her name “Mizumi Tokage” embroidered on it. (Note 1)

Izuku walked towards the viewing area and called in English at Ghost. “Ghost! Is everything set?

Everything is set, operational, and ready for testing, Captain. You can go ahead and show them how to do it.” Ghost answered with a thumb up.

Snipe double checked the system for the customized firearm license exam program for people who will be using it in public areas without being a hero, a police officer or being in the military. Granted, the 141 is one of the few dozen hero agencies in the world that also doubles as a private military company. But some of the non-combatant and most of the medic units that they employ also works as a field combatant from time to time in some especially dangerous situation. Thus, the need of a gun license for each and every one of them.

Then he heard a child’s voice called out to Ghost, who was currently standing on his right. “Ghost! Is everything set?

He was surprised on how a kid (That’s definitely a kid’s voice, right?) got into this place before Ghost answered the kid’s question. Then he got even more confused. “Why did Ghost call him Cap?” Snipe thought.

Curiosity took the better of him, and he looked at the person who asked Ghost earlier. He analyzed the kid. His assumption was correct. It’s a boy. Likely supposedly in 15 to 16 years old. Middle School Student.

“Hey, Ghost, why’d ya call the kid earlier Captain?” Snipe asked. He can see Ghost quirk an eyebrow to him before he gestured his hand at the kid and him. Seemingly having a silent conversation.

After the kid gave Ghost a nod and went to The Pit’s starting position, Ghost explained that the kid is the captain of the Task Force 141 and the actual leader of the PM-HA, while Ghost is acting as the owner of the hero agency.

[S.S.D.D]

“Alright, Captain, you can choose your weapon from the crates over there. And after you’re ready, you can run past the gate to start the timer.”

“We’ve modified this arena to fit the requirement for this exam. There are 24 enemies and 6 civilians, and some of the enemy targets are moving. It is possible for a round to pierce something behind the target, so position yourself right to make sure you don’t hit any civilian behind the target. You’ll pass when you can finish the test within 45 seconds and not hit a civilian.”

“Thanks for the explanation, Ghost.” Izuku exclaimed as he grabbed an M4A1 and an M18 from the crates. They weren’t his favorite weapons but he used his P90 in The Pit 2 years ago. He wanted a new challenge.

He seamlessly drifted into a running stance. Pistol fully loaded and readied on his right hip. His rifle at the ready.

Izuku jogged into the first area. 3 targets immediately appeared and he immediately shot one behind the barrel, then the next one behind the wooden window prop and he sidestepped to the third one on the center of the 1st area.

As he entered the 2nd area 3 more targets immediately popped up. “One civilian on the left moving to the center, 2 targets on the right.” He mumbled under his breath as he quickly shot the target on the center twice. One on the head and one on the stomach area. and the rightmost target was hit by a burst fire of 3 bullets from Izuku’s rifle. (Note 2)

After running through the rest of the course (and throwing a few flash bangs) Izuku had ended up with 18.26 seconds. Matching Soap’s best time with his M1911, the only difference was he used a rifle and pistol instead of just using a pistol.

“Hell yeah. That’s how you do it. Amazing work, captain.” Ghost’s sidekick who was tasked to man The Pit’s mechanisms said.

Izuku walked out of the Pit to watch the rest of his men take the exam was met by Snipe. His face was covered behind his mask but the verdette had a guess on why he wanted to talk with him.

“So… I heard from Ghost that yer the capn.”

“Yes, why?” Izuku raised his eyebrow in curiosity.

“Why didn’t ya just take the hero license exam immediately instead? I see yer more proficient at handling a weapon than other most older heroes with their quirks.”

Izuku was taken aback by that, but he quickly covered it with an explanation with a sigh. “Snipe sir, I maybe more experienced than most low-ranking Pro Heroes. But I’m more battle oriented than the more important matters; saving civilians, comforting them after apprehending villains, self-restraint, and so on. I still need education on that matter. Also, doesn’t the hero license exam have an age limit?”

The cowboy hero seemed to accept his reason. “Well, it’s true in most cases. But, don’t cha still need to be an active combat personnel on the field?” he asked back.

It’s true, there are some cases where someone who were just a teenager attended a full hero license exam, but all of them are mostly people with a complex intelligence quirk that also affected their mental age progression.

“If my team is needed, yes.”

“Then, I think it’s safer for ya to at least to take a provisional hero license exam. There’s one in June, and yer agency can register you for it. Usually only hero high schools who can register their class for it, but sometimes a pro hero or a pro hero agency can register someone with a… special case. Such as a child with a much-needed quirk to help heroes. Or someone who needs other people’s quirks for their own quirk to function properly. I think yer case can be included as such.” Snipe explained.

Izuku mulled over the choice in silence (save for the gunshot noises in the background.) After a few moments, he chose to take the license exam in June.

On the end of the day, he left the HQ with Brian and his engineering team to the trash beach. He already has his public gun license ready to be merged with his provisional license later on at June. Now, the things he needed to do were only to train his body further, study for U.A, and clean that beach. Thankfully he’s not alone on the last matter.

“You see anything of use in here?” Izuku asked to his favorite engineer.

“Almost everything, Captain. All of us can recycle the metal pieces here. The rest can go to the junkyard. And buy new materials.” Brian answered enthusiastically.

Seriously, he already thinking that everyone in the support department is a bunch of lunatics.

Izuku rolled up his shirt’s sleeves and jumped to climb the first trash pile he saw. “Come on, boys. Everything here is up for grabs!” He said as he climbed the junk mountain arriving at the top. The sun setting behind him.

This was his first true step to become the “First” truly quirkless hero in his world.

Chapter Text

It had been a slow week for Izuku.

Between some light paperwork, supervising the elemental bullet creation, supervising Boris when he’s experimenting with the Cryotheum formula to fill a grenade, cleaning up that trash-filled beach, and training for the provisional license exam, it was overall quite boring. Especially when there were no other YouTube videos to listen to besides hero related videos.

Past him would be listening to an All Might playlist, but past him wouldn’t have a lot of paperwork to fill to begin with… or having diminished hero-worship into just a regular hero nerd who has less time to analyze heroes.

Unfortunately, he had something else to do today.

He was currently walking to Aldera Middle School, the one place he despised as much- or even more than Favela. Mostly because of how much quirk and hereditary mutations related types of discrimination happened in there. He once witnessed a girl with a quirk that morphed her body into an anthropomorphic tiger, which got her bullied for having said quirk. And for the Quirkless, Izuku witnessed them all firsthand.

He didn’t even know why he was still a student in Aldera even after he went missing for 2 years, his mom probably didn’t know that Aldera had been one of the many factors that lead to Katsuki’s ego which bled into his overall personality.

Izuku’s walk was interrupted by a roadblock caused by a rampaging with a size-related quirk causing a massive amount of property damage on a railway. From what people said he was a purse snatcher who was running away from the heroes who were pursuing him.

Death Arms had caught a fallen part of the electric railway, while Backdraft put a barricade between the fight and the watching civilians. Izuku watched the fight from the edge of Backdraft’s barricade.

“Seriously? Purse snatching?” He internally cringed. He then heard Kamui Wood’s dramatically talking about ultimate evil, which is a bit dramatic for a purse snatcher. Izuku grabbed his notebook from… somewhere, and his mind raced a mile per minute while his mouth quietly spewed out a coherent strategy on how the three heroes could defeat the villain.

“You seem to know a lot about heroes, kid. Are you a hero-taku?” A person with star-like spikes on his head asked.

“Eh… kind of. I just like analyzing.” Izuku answered shortly.

“Canyon Cannon!”

As Kamui wound his super move another Hero interrupted Kamui Woods and then a gigantic woman suddenly appeared and drop kicked the giant purse snatcher. . . which led to him dropping on the ground destroying the railway even further.

Izuku noted down some of his real-time analysis about the debuting heroine Mt. Lady in his notebook. Noting that she needs more control and less brute force to lower the risk of harming nearby civilians. He also wrote some of his theories on her quirk, and the extent of all possibilities available to them.

All of the male spectators were awestruck by Mt. Lady’s appearance. Mt. Lady successfully captured the villain (by stealing Kamui’s spotlight) and basked in all the attention she received. All while Izuku finished his notes on Mt. Lady. “If she’d have been a bit more careful there would have been less property damage.” He mumbled.

He continued to walk towards Aldera middle school as the road was cleared. He hoped that at least he could get some fun scaring his past classmates.

09:12:51 Aldera High

Apparently, the headmaster wasn’t available until later. So, here he was. Stuck inside his old classroom with a bunch of kids who haven’t seen the worst the world could have offered. He could just go to the roof and wait there. But he wanted to mess with his past classmates first. Does this mean he’s petty? Hell yes. Does he care? Hell no. He calmly opened his hero notebook and refined his on-the-fly analysis.

One of Katsuki’s lackeys noticed him in the classroom not wearing the school uniform. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a small “Combat Shirt” text in kanji printed on his left pec. He also wore dark grey pants with a belt around his waist that had some pouches attached to it. They assumed that they contained tools, little did he know, they also contain two cryo grenades (The early “Beta” version), 1 mag each of cryo and capture ammo for his FN 5-7, and a pack of cigars. He also brought his FN 5-7 on a holster on his right leg, concealed under a belt pouch.

“Hey, Deku. You’re back, eh? I heard you’ve come back home a week ago. You fuckin scared of coming here?”

It causes the majority of the students to look at the now filled desk. And murmurs began to fill the classroom.

Izuku blinked at the slight annoyance. He wore his best annoyed/intimidating face and slowly glanced at “Fingers” straight in the eyes. The scar on his right eye plus the look of someone who has seen a lot of horrible things combined made the results more effective. Also considering that the average middle schoolers haven’t experienced the receiving end of a villain attack or in his case, a world war. Fingers took a step back while another lackey beside him slowly started shaking. While the rest of the class had quieted down.

He internally smiled at the reaction he got. He then answered flatly with a slightly gravelly voice. “No, I’m just busy.” And continued his revision.

“D…Deku, you look… different.”  Fingers stuttered out.

“Thanks, it’s the Trauma™”

“The w-what? What trauma could y-you possibly had gone th-“ Another more intense glare came from Izuku.

“You don’t want to know en” Izuku said ominously. Fingers were about to ask him what he meant but then Starting bell rang.

He was “saved” by the teacher coming into the classroom. Well, not really saved. Just a little breathing room in between being the center of attention. He went back to opening his notebook and revising his analysis. While the teacher started to talk about their future careers.

“But I’m sure all of you want to be heroes, right?” The supposedly professional adult who taught the class threw the papers that he brought with him all over the front of the classroom and scattered them around the floor.

Chaos erupted, almost everyone showed off their quirks. From the mundane ones to the slightly flashier ones, and from the “normal” ones to the outright creepy ones. All except two people, one who didn’t even have one, and the other one was Katsuki.

“Yes yes settle down, all of you have amazing quirks. But using it on the school grounds is prohibited.” The teacher said, he actually didn’t really care about quirk usage laws.

“Hey, teach. Don’t lump me with all of these extras- “

Click-Clack.

The class suddenly went silent. All of the eyes initially looking at the teacher slowly turned their heads to the source of the noise. They saw Izuku calmly tucking something into a pouch on his belt.

Realizing the silence and the attention he gained, he scanned the room to see that everyone is looking at him. Then he returned to his relaxed position. “What?”

The entire classroom slowly turned their attention towards the person standing on the podium. Feeling frightened about what did he brought that made that noise. All except Katsuki, because he damn well knew what made that all too familiar noise.

Damnit nerd, why do you bring that thing here?

“Oh, right. Midoriya is here. You haven’t filled this future plan pamphlet, and you need to catch up. But I doubt that you can do it in less than a year.” The teacher cockily said to Izuku.

He was about to answer his Teacher, but he was once again saved by another different interruption. This time it’s the principal. “Would Izuku Midoriya please come to my office?” The principal’s voice came out of a nearby intercom.

“Ah, sorry. I have an appointment with the principal.” Izuku stood up from his desk and went out of the classroom to meet the principal. As he closed the classroom door, he slowly let himself smirk. Damn the sensation of revenge felt better than shooting any kind of gun.

Izuku sat down in front of the principal. The sloth quirked man was still glued to his computer screen. From the reflection on his glasses, he was splitting the screen between actual principal work and social media. His cursor was on the social media window.

“Ah, Midoriya. May I know why you want to talk with me?” He said as he averted his eyes from the screen to Izuku. Izuku coughed, bringing the ashes, soot, and dusts his respiratory system filtered from all his time in the gun range and engineering lab out before speaking, voice clearer than before. “I want to drop out of this school.”

Izuku was expecting him to ask questions on why he wanted to drop out, or something else a principal would do in this situation. But instead, the man had the gall to smile. “Perfect.” He said as he searched for the required document.

Normally this kind of document requires a guardian’s signature. But by the look of things, he was eager to get rid of Izuku from the school. So, he didn’t really care about it.

Izuku filled the document and excused himself to exit the room. He was going to go to the HQ, but he decided that he’d grab food from the cafeteria and go to the roof instead. He sent a message to Katsuki and his hero agency.

Bakugou Katsuki – Private Message

Izuku “Evergreen” Midoriya: Hey, Blasty. If you need me, I’m on the school roof.

Best PMC in the Multiverse

Cpt. Midoriya:   I’m still at Aldera Jr. High. Going to have some time alone on the roof. I’ll be going to the HQ later in the afternoon. @Kemist Boris, please don’t burn/freeze half of the chemistry lab again.

Kemist:             Don’t worry капитан. I’m not going to build another elemental grenade until you test the Beta version of the Cryo Grenade.

Izuku sighed after reading the last sentence. “Right, I still need to do a field test on those. Why did I agree to this?” he said as he switched the app to a hero news website.

He opened his notebook again to do a throughout analysis of the heroes he found online. Not only heroes, but he also analyzed some villains that appeared on the news, both the captured ones and the ones still roaming around freely. The difference between his hero analysis and villain analysis is the “Improvement” section is replaced by “Other Weaknesses”. Then, after a few minutes of writing, Izuku fell asleep.

15:36:05, Aldera High

The last school hour just finished. Katsuki was about to go home before he was reminded that D-the nerd went to the school roof a few hours ago. He hadn’t received any update from him, so he turned to the stairway going to the roof.

“Katsuki, where are you going?” he was stopped by one of his lackeys.

“I’m going to check on Midoriya.” He answered. “Calling him Midoriya feels really weird.”

“Deku? Why do you care about him? He’s still the quirkless loser, doesn’t matter how s-scary he got.” Fingers said to him.

“Yeah, yeah. Whatever.” Katsuki dismissed them and went up the stairs to the roof. Which was unlocked, from the fact that Izuku can access it easily.

As he opened the door to the roof, the very same roof where Izuku fell from and went missing almost 2 years ago. He was greeted by the sight of Izuku resting on the roof railing. Some dark yellow-gray smoke periodically appeared around him.

Wait, smoke?

He scooted closer to the left of Izuku, and his hunch is correct. After seeing his fingers smoking near him (and immediately swatted it out of his hand as soon he noticed) he knew what it was.

“Oi, Nerd. Why are you smoking?”

Izuku exhaled a puff of smoke away from him as he sighed. Then he glanced at Katsuki. “Stress relief. I know it’s bad for health and a minor shouldn’t smoke. But someone would develop several habits they shouldn’t when stressed. Especially in a war.”

“Still, wouldn’t people notice your smell? Even though your school records don’t have underage smoking in them.” Katsuki questioned.

“Aw, you actually care about me.” Izuku said in a slightly mocking tone.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!”

“I’m joking, kind of. For why I’m still doing it, I’m actually abusing my power thanks to my dad.” Izuku explained. “Even though I don’t have a quirk, I do have the required secondary powers of both mom and dad. This one I’m abusing, in particular, is the Pollution Filtering aspect of my dad’s quirk. I don’t know if I have a fire-resistant mouth, but I sure as hell won’t test that soon.”

“You can go ahead, Kat. I’ll finish this first.” Izuku waved off Katsuki to go home first.

Izuku was walking towards the 141 HQ using an alternate path. Whilst also reading a message from Ghost about a new case they’d handle.

The case was about Trigger; a quirk enhancing drug that revolved and was distributed around the underground. Their undercover informants from the underground in Yokohama and Nikolai on Hosu had found a known large distributor of trigger. While their chemical engineering team was assigned to learn the compound and try to reverse its effect to instead quickly weaken the quirk of a villain.

As he entered an underpass, he felt something bad would happen. He immediately pocketed his phone and un-clasped his sidearm and pressed himself against the wall. After a few moments, he heard a fluid moving at a very high speed. He grabbed one of the cryo grenades -the smaller pipe bomb design one- and pulled the pin with his other hand, ready to be thrown.

A mass of green sludge oozed out of the manhole cover in the middle of the underpass, the more that oozed out the faster its eyes and mouth formed on his “head” as the mass of sludge said, “I need to get a disguise, quickly He’s chasing after me-.”

Izuku kicked a rock at the sludge villain’s eye. He cockily smirked.

“OH! YOU BRAT! Let’s see if you’re still smirking as I choke the life out of ya! ” He grinned at Izuku. His sharp yellow teeth were revealed. And he shot several tendrils at Izuku.

Izuku dodged the tendrils as he threw the pipe cryo grenade at the floor near the villain. The ice spread as quickly as the light of a flashbang and encased the villain in a thick layer of dirty ice. The ice was still vibrating, thankfully meaning that the villain was still alive.

“Hm, this one is great for capturing large or medium fluid-type mutants or transformation quirks” He muttered. “I’ll just wait for whoever chasing him.”

Just as he finished talking, someone else came out of the manhole. Izuku grabbed his pistol and aimed it at the manhole. When he saw who it was, He quickly hid away his firearm as his fanboy side shot out again and smiled widely.

The man that emerged from the covering was the Number 1 hero of Japan. The symbol of peace, whose mere presence terrified villains back into hiding. This man. His name was. . .

“All Might!”

Don’t worry, citizen. Because I Am HERE!

“Ah, were you the one chasing this villain?” Izuku pointed at the frozen sludge.

Yes, I am. Thank you for assistance young…

“Midoriya, Izuku Midoriya.”

Thank you, young Midoriya. Usually, public quirk usage is prohibited, but because this is self-defense, I can let this slide.” All Might said as he captured the villain in a large coke bottle. Most of it was still frozen, so he crushed the ice first before inserting it.

“Actually… I don’t have a quirk.” Izuku blurted out. “It’s actually the result of a support item my friend had made. He wanted me to test it at Dagobah beach.” He showed All Might the other cryo grenade. “Do you think a skilled enough quirkless kid like me can become a hero?” he asked his idol.

No, I. . .don’t think they can.” All Might answered in a dark tone. He then showed Izuku his scar to emphasize his answer. ”Gross, right? I got this scar from a battle with a dangerous villain 5 years ago.” He didn’t realize that the child in front of him now has the look of someone who has seen the worst of humanity, and it was the person in front of him.

Being a hero is a dangerous job. They have to be ready to face a potentially deadly encounter every day. And someone powerless doesn’t have the means to go through it alive. So, no, I don’t think they can. But there are other ways of being a hero. Policemen, Firemen, Doctors. And other jobs.

All Might about to jump away, before Izuku called out to him. “Is it as dangerous as participating in a war that could result in a nuclear war? How about the early quirkless vigilantes in the dawn of quirk era? Do you think that quirks are everything, All Might? Just because you almost died from a villain that doesn’t mean you know everything.” Izuku then left All Might alone in the underpass with the slowly melting villain in a bottle.

All Might watched Izuku left, after a few moments he jumped away. Just then he remembered that the boy had a gun in his hand. And the printed image of a skull on top of a dagger with a laurel wreath surrounding it, and the text “TF141” near the image on his belt buckle.

“Oh, shit“ All Might coughed. He then landed on a rooftop and deflated into a skeletal-looking man. “I ran out of time. ”

His day was quite a rollercoaster. First, he got his revenge on his classmates, and he dropped out of the hellhole of a school. But then he dreamed of the possibility of Ghost dying if he’s not there back in the safe house- he shook himself for thinking about that. And after that, he got his mood back up a bit. But his mood plummeted down again after the sludge villain attack and All Might’s words.

His hand started to reach into the pouch that contained his cigars but then decided against it. “Not now, I can have a drink at the HQ or home.” He thought.

An explosion sound suddenly came from the way he’d go to. His instinct told him to go there, so he ran there as fast as he could. Just because he hadn’t got his provisional license doesn’t mean he won’t help anyone in need.

As he got closer, he could see Mt. Lady just standing there doing nothing. He then went through the crowd to see what’s happening.

It was bad, there were explosions and fire everywhere. Most of the heroes there did nothing but standing there being useless. He also saw a very thin person with the exact same clothes as All Might earlier. “So, this is your real form, huh, All Might. Ironic.” He then looked at the source of the explosion. There were the sludge villain and another person. It seems that he had a hostage.

Another explosion revealed who the person was. Bakugou was held hostage and it seems that the sludge villain was trying to make it into his body. His eyes screamed help, but no heroes were doing anything. All Might was out of commission, and Backdraft is busy creating a barrier and extinguishing the fire.

“GET OUT OF THE WAY!” Izuku screamed as he reached for his pistol. He ran straight into the scene as soon as the civilians parted like the red sea. He loaded his pistol with a full mag of Cryotheum bullets and fired two shots at the villain’s eyes and blinded him, froze his facial area, and it also released Katsuki out of his grasp a little bit. He paid the wails of the villain and the heroes and police shouting at him no mind. There’s a more important thing to do.

“What the fuck are you doing, nerd?” Katsuki shouted in shock. His question was answered by a tug on his arms. Katsuki was freed.

Izuku wasn’t done. He grabbed the larger cryo grenade and threw it inside the sludge villain as soon as he pulled the pin. “Fire in the hole!” he shouted as he threw the grenade.

The difference between Katsuki’s shouts and Izuku’s was they got people away from the blast zone.

After a few seconds, the entire alleyway where the sludge villain was got encased in ice. Most of the surrounding flames died, and there were no sounds of something attempting to break out of the ice.

The sludge villain got frozen to death.

Izuku walked towards the traumatized police while calmly dragging the still shocked Katsuki. “What the hell, captain?” one of the officers asked Izuku in a hushed tone. “The villain is dead, sir. I didn’t intend to kill him.” Izuku half-lied, dismissing the police’s question. He would absolutely kill the villain if any civilians died there. “Forward the documents regarding this to 141 HQ, I’ll be there shortly.” Izuku whispered to them.

“And all of you!” Izuku yelled at the heroes walking towards him, his rage halting them on their way. “Why did all of you do nothing when there was a student’s life on the line? Death Arms, you could have thrown something to the villain’s eye to loosen his grab, and then pull the captive from him. Kamui, you could have coated your tendrils in water, and that way you could get fewer burns while pulling the Hostage out of the villain.” he then looked at Backdraft who was shifting uncomfortably. “you were busy extinguishing the fire, you have an excuse. But you, Mt. Lady, you’re the fastest one here. If you’re that worried about your quirk being incompatible you could at least have gotten another hero over here quicker.” He then power-walked out of the scene. He didn’t even glance at All Might, who was about to jump in to save both of them.

“Hey, at least we didn’t kill the villain!” Mt. Lady and Death Arms yelled after they came out of their shock. Unfortunately, Izuku was nowhere to be found.

“What the hell was that kid… He’s too scary and he just murdered a villain with a blank face.” Kamui Woods mumbled.

Izuku stomped his way to his home. His anger at the heroes who did nothing to save a civilian was still there. Sure, if they tried, he wouldn’t be as angry as he was right now. But they didn’t even do anything back there.

He’d visited the HQ earlier for a few minutes to grab some paperwork and another mag of ammo before going home. He also told Boris about the results of the two cryo grenades. The Russian just cackled at the fact that the large one froze a larger area than he expected, not listening to Izuku about the villain he “accidentally” killed.

He was about to light another cigar. Then suddenly a gust of wind followed by a loud “I Am Here” blew the fire of his lighter out. He quickly put his cigar back inside a belt pouch to not get any questions.

Fucking hell, All Might.” Izuku thought, while his mouth said, “What do you want, All Might?”. He saw how All Might’s face looked strained. He then told All Might to drop his transformation.

A puff of cold steam erupted from All Might followed by a cough. “How do you know that young Midoriya? I never showed you this form when I show you my scar.”

“You still wearing the same outfit, your voice sounded about the same, your hair, and your height is the same,” Izuku explained. “You also transformed in the alley near Task Force 141 HQ several times, but I don’t know if you knew there are CCTV cameras there.” Izuku mumbled.

All Might coughed out blood and sighed. “I suppose I don’t need to explain anything, then. For why I’m here, I want to apologize. I was wrong when I said that you can’t be a hero. Though I did not approve of you killing another. What you did earlier was heroic. All top heroes also have stories of their childhood, in most of their stories there’s this one thing in common; their body moved on their own before they could think. Young man, tell me what you thought when you saw that earlier.”

“I didn’t think of anything except he’d die if I didn’t do anything. The rest is instinct.” Izuku answered flatly. “Anyone would do it.”

“Now, that’s where you’re wrong. Not everyone would do even half the feat you did. And I think you can be a hero! I deem you the one worthy to inherit my quirk.” All Might said not so quietly.

“… Huh?” was all Izuku could say. His face morphed to a confused expression more fitting on Katsuki’s face.

All Might then told him all about his quirk, One for All. How it’s been passed through generations of vigilantes and heroes and saying that he’d chosen Izuku to be the 9th user.

“So, will you accept this offer, young Midoriya?”

“No.”

“Excell- what?”

“I refuse. I don’t need a quirk to be a hero. Your quirk’s overwhelming power lacks the precision that I’ll need. And I almost always use firearms in fights.” Izuku said as he walked away from All Might. “Oh yeah, I have some advice for you. Next time, don’t tell someone your biggest secret loudly in the middle of a residential area.

Inko Midoriya was worried.

On one hand, she was happy that her son looked happier than he was before. And he now that he could actually become a hero, albeit probably wouldn’t be a very popular one. On the other hand, she wanted her son to be safe. Even though it’s probably too late now since she could see some fleeting glimpses of stress on his face. And the battle scars that he had.

And also, the fact that Izuku occasionally smokes and drinks. Which didn’t ease up her worries at all. She wanted him to stop completely, but she knew how difficult it is. Especially for someone who can abuse their power for things like that. But at least she wanted him to stop drinking. Hisashi’s secondary power is pollution filter, not Alcohol Poisoning Immunity damnit.

How did she know that Izuku had inherited Hisashi’s secondary power? Easy, there were ashes and smoke that came out of Izuku’s mouth and nose that landed on the floor during the afternoon when she and her son saw the news about the support department of the 141 catch on fire from a failed experiment came out minutes after he came home.

Then she was taken out of her thoughts by the sound of the front door opening and Izuku saying “I’m home.”

“Welcome home, Izu. How’s your day?” She greeted Izuku. But then she frowned a little bit when she saw Izuku’s expression. “What’s wrong, son?”

“Spotlight heroes being idiots and being attacked by a villain, twice.” Izuku answered her, and then he sat down in front of her on the couch.

He then explained everything that happened, at the same time that a news program replaying the events that happened up to him yelling at the heroes that then abruptly got cut to a reporter asking All Might some questions before he also went away.

“So… yeah. That’s all that happened.” Izuku finished his explanation, leaving out the part where All Might offered him One for All.

She observed Izuku took another long inhale of his cigar, and the smoke he exhaled. It reminded her of Hisashi’s smokey breath whenever he’s agitated but slightly darker.

“Izuku, are you planning to stop?” Inko asked. “Stop smoking and drinking, I mean.”

“I actually am planning to stop drinking since the therapy had been helping. But for smoking… I don’t think I will. I mean, I know it’s bad, and dad’s secondary power won’t completely stop the side effects. But since Shepherd’s betrayal, I’ve been smoking to calm myself before or after a mission. It also serves as a reminder, of both Soap -my mentor and brother figure, and dad, even though I never really remember him very well before his death when I was 3. At least I can know I have something else from him apart from my appearance and use it.” Izuku explained.

“Okay, I… can accept that.” She said after a minute.

“Thanks, mom.” Izuku smiled. He then excused himself to his room to finish the paperwork that he had grabbed from the HQ.

Notes:

Sorry if this chapter is a bit all over the place or kinda doesn't makes sense

Got too many things in my mind, and not even related to IRL stuff (Exam has already passed)

Headcanon notes:
-Quirkless that born from quirked parents still have secondary aspect of their parents
-Hisashi was a regular civilian
-Hisashi's quirk has a side effect of making his breath smokey when agitated or beginning to combust
-Telekinesis heightens someone's mind and respiratory fire quirk gives pollution resistance (stuffs from imperfect combustion and some others)
-Private Military Hero Agency is more lenient on villain death casualties but more strict on their formation and recruitment (especially for combat hero/sidekick) than regular hero agencies.

Chapter 6: Chapter 6

Notes:

This is the first time I write anything remotely romantic. Sorry if the quality dropped like a rock falling down a cliff. Also, My Co-Writer is in radio-silence since his computer is broken. So this only got a re-read from me and Grammarly.

This is technically not a filler and more of an “I want to fully establish this before moving it into the background”.

Chapter Text

A few Months Before U.A. Entrance Exam

“You know, most people your age doesn’t read ‘Memoirs of Kazdel’ and ‘Children of Ursus’. They’re not your usual hero story.”

“Eh, I don’t really care. I’m more interested in these unusual heroism stories.” Izuku said as the cashier scanned his novels.

“Hey, Anna, are you done? Rada has finished cooking dinner.” A female voice was heard from the backdoor of the bookstore. Izuku recognized the voice but can’t really put where he’d heard it.

“In a moment, Sonya,” Anna called loudly.

“Is this everything?”

“Yes.”

“So, that’ll be 1300 yen.”

“Here,” Izuku said as he pulled the money out of his wallet. He then remembered the trigger drug cartel that his team and some other heroes successfully raided back in August. “Was that Winter General Hero: Zima?” he received a nod from Anna.

“Tell her that Bravo-6 gives his thanks for the help back in August. He wasn’t able to back then.” He told Anna just before he left the bookstore. He hated that he had to lie about his identity, but the public couldn’t know that Bravo-6/Evergreen is him, not yet.

It was a quiet night, sans the sound of winter breeze. It was pretty cold, and he was wearing the merchandise version of the TF141 jacket instead of his official one since his jacket has his team number as Bravo-6. And the insulation is worse than his official jacket.

He was going home from his afternoon walk that ended up lasting until night. At least he managed to thank Zima -who he found out was Sonya Rostova- through Anna for her help in the trigger raid.

He and his team went out of the scene as soon as the mission ended. Because they had a meeting with the JSDF soon after. Causing him unable to regard his thanks to the other heroes who appeared just at the right time; Zima and Rosa -the author of Children of Ursus, Natalya Andreyevna Rostova.

He was about to put on his earphones when he suddenly heard a cry for help in English. He focused on his hearing to pinpoint where it came from. And immediately ran to where he assumed it came from.

As he got closer to an alleyway, he began hearing the voices of different people. And the occasional whimpers of a girl’s voice. Izuku readied his trusty FN 5-7 and screwed on a suppressor on it.

Izuku peeked into the alleyway. There were 4 people in the alley, 1 girl that seems to be his age cornered on a wall, and 3 older men, most likely around 20 years old. “Villains…” he thought.

One of them has a knife-like protrusion from their knuckles. The other two are still unknown. No visible mutation, either transformation or emitter. Quirkless is a possibility.” He formulated a plan to quickly neutralize them and save the girl.

Note: In this one JP and EN is inverted (normal is English, formatted is Japanese)

It was supposed to be a quick trip to the bookstore. Get the book she wanted and go back home immediately. But the area seems to be not as safe as she initially thought. She was currently being cornered by a group of thugs.

She’d screamed for help a few moments ago, and she now just hoped that someone would save her. Especially since she doesn’t understand what the thugs are demanding from her. One of them just used his knife quirk to keep her attention on him.

Clack-clack-clack

The three thugs suddenly dropped unconscious right after the clicking sound. She slumped to the ground relieved that someone saved her. ”Are you alright?” she heard a boy’s voice asked her as a hand softly grabbed her shoulder. “Are you alright?” He asked again, this time in English.

She looked up to see who saved her. Her blue eyes met green ones. The boy had green hair in the same shade as his eyes, his face is round with diamond-shaped freckles on his cheeks. His most notable feature is the long vertical scar on his right eye.

“Yeah… I’m alright.” She managed to answer his question after several long breaths. The boy assisted her to stand up by pulling her arm.

“thank god…” he sighed in relief. “I already called the police earlier. We should wait here so you can give your statement.” He explained.

“Can you speak Japanese?” he asked. She then explained that she can, but only the basics. So, he decided to stick to English instead.  “Do you mind if I accompany you waiting here?” he asked her as he pocketed his phone.

“It’s okay, I don’t mind.”

“Thank you, um…”
“Pony Tsunotori. But you can call me Pony.”

“Thank you, Pony. I’m Izuku Midoriya.” Midoriya then proceeded to sit down on her left.

He seemed to be in deep thought, while his hand drumming one of his belt pouches. Seemed to be in deep thought.

“Can I ask you a question, if you don’t mind?” he suddenly asked.

“Oh, I don’t mind. Ask away.”

“Why do you come to Japan? You know, since the laws here, especially on quirk usage and what is classified as villains and things like that are more outdated compared to say… USA.”

“Oh, that’s because I want to go to U.A. High School.” Pony answered with a smile. Midoriya’s smile brightened when he heard that.

“U.A? That’s awesome. I’m planning to go there as well.”

True to his word, a police car came into view not too long after he finished talking.

They were questioned by the police officer and gave their statements after the unconscious villains got transferred into the police car. She had some difficulty answering some of them since her Japanese is just enough to understand formal Japanese, but not so much on the day-to-day ones. But thankfully Midoriya was there to help her.

(back to normal formatting)

Izuku explained everything that happened from his side truthfully. And thankfully the officers that came were the ones who were familiar with him. So, there’s no need to show them his license.

After the polices left, he turned to the equine-like girl and asked if she needs an escort. She shyly rejected his offer with a slight chuckle. And both of them went on their own way afterward.

After he came to the general area of his apartment complex, he let his inner emotions leak a bit. He let out a sigh-chuckle combination as he thought about the events that happened earlier.

“Oh goodness… that was nerve-wracking.” He said to himself.

Even though he’d interacted with many people of opposing gender, he still wasn’t used to talking to a girl his age so casually outside of buying things and professional situations. And he sometimes still stuttered even when he’s finishing his middle school back in 2017-2018. Especially when communicating with his female classmates.

He thought that being a soldier will erase that side of him, but that seemed to not be the case. He was a nervous wreck on the inside at the end of his conversation with Pony. Especially the one when he offered Pony an escort. “Why the hell did I ask her that?

He successfully buried that train of thought as he entered his apartment. But unfortunately, that train of thought came back at full force just after he laid down on his bed.

Several days later

Izuku went to the Musutafu Library to learn more about quirk history and other school subjects that didn’t exist in a quirkless world. Sure, he could read from the internet, but he enjoyed reading a book more than sitting in front of his desk reading a wall of text on a screen for 4+ hours.

As he went to read a book of hero history he just grabbed, Izuku saw the girl he saved a few days ago on a table nearby, seeming to have a hard time studying from a book. After several minutes of thinking about what he’d do, he decided to help her study.

Izuku sat down across from Pony, and then greeted her.

“Hi, Midoriya.” Pony greeted back.

“Do you need help?” He asked her.

“Um, yes. I’m still a bit confused on this part; especially on the rise of hero agencies and the amalgamation of early hero agencies and military organizations, such as the still-standing Rhodes Islands Hero Association.” Pony explained.

(Let’s just say their relationship grew from here)

1 Month Before U.A, afternoon

Izuku wasn’t so sure how to handle this situation. Pony had asked him about what he hid from her for so long, and he already promised there are no secrets between them when they got closer. But well… About him being the captain of 141… He doesn’t know how he should explain it to her. Especially since her opinion on PM-HA, especially Rhodes Islands Hero Association, was not positive. And there’s also the fact that he smokes.

Then his phone rang with the tone he set as the default ringtone. He looked at who’s calling him and sighed silently. It was Pony. Izuku picked up his phone and answered the call.

“Izu… when you said there are no secrets between us… do you really-“

“I’ll tell you everything. I’ve been thinking about how I should tell you.” Izuku interjected. Then he told her to meet him at Dagobah beach. He then ended the call after Pony said she’ll be there.

Izuku arrived at the beach early. And decided to prepare himself to spill his secret to his girlfriend. After a few minutes passed, he got a little bit bored. Then he decided to play chess on his phone while waiting on a bench while smoking.

Just after he finished his 1st game, he heard footsteps on the sand and a girl’s voice. “Izuku, are you… smoking?” he pocketed his phone and took his cig from his mouth as he faced Pony.

“Yes, but that’s not what I’m hiding from you. You would find out this little habit of mine nonetheless.” Izuku explained. “The thing I’m hiding from you has a connection with my question to you way back in the Musutafu Library.”

Pony then tried to remember what exactly he’s talking about, then she realized it. “It’s the one about Private Military-Hero Agency, right?” Izuku answered her with a nod. “You said that you don’t like them.

To tell you the truth, I’m actually the leader of Task Force 141, not just a part-time analyst.” Izuku paused for a moment, then continued. “For why I’m keeping this as a secret, It’s not just because of your answer back then. The public, most heroes, and the HPSC also don’t know this. Imagine the uproar that’d happen if the public knows that a quirkless middle schooler leads the largest PM-HA in Japan.

He told her everything from how he fell into a portal that transported him into a world without quirks. How he got enlisted into Task Force 141 when it was still a part of the British army. And how he got betrayed by his general until the end of WW3, up to now.

Izuku turned his gaze to the ocean. “So, that’s my explanation.” He braced himself for her response. But he wasn’t expecting Pony to hug him from the back instead. “You silly, I don’t hate PM-HA personnel, I only hate the system set by Rhodes Islands. You know, indiscriminate target and all.” She said to Izuku.

“Although… I have a question. Why are you smoking? It’s bad for your health, you know…” she asked him, switching to Japanese. Izuku answered  Pony’s question with the same answer as his answer to his mother’s question. “But I usually smoke when I’m alone or in my room. I don’t want anyone else to suffer from secondhand smoking.” He added.

After some more questions from Pony about his bad habit and reassurances from Izuku that yes, he’s not completely immune but no, it won’t kill him early and he had inhaled something worse in the pastnote and came out relatively okay. Pony relented and  They watched the setting sun together.

“Izu-dear?”

“Hm?”

“You said you don’t smoke when other people are nearby, right?” Pony asked, but her tone was slightly teasing.

Izuku opened his mouth to say something, but he then stopped midway and closed his mouth again to think about what she’s implying. He then extinguished his cigar and threw it into a nearby trash can. “Alright, I get it, I’ll stop it.” Izuku said to pony with a chuckle.

Notes:

Note: The deadly gas grenade in MW3, it affected him but not as quickly (really slowly) as a normal person. he just reacted mildly 24 seconds after he and his group went out of the room.

Chapter Text

U.A. Entrance Gate.

It’s finally the day of the UA’s  entrance exam. Izuku had already been up since 4:20 A.M and did his daily morning routines. He brought his equipment from the HQ such as several ammunition for the M203 attachment for his M4A1, some extra ammo for his Rifle and FN 5-7 pistol, with 5 total magazines for each gun, and 3 more Pyroclasm grenades if the situation calls for it.

Izuku was currently walking to U.A. with Pony. She was wearing her middle school uniform, a jacket and a scarf to protect her from the relatively chilling temperature of spring. Izuku on the other hand was wearing TF141’s official non-combat uniform (The British Army No. 2 Service Dress but colored black with light gray buttons and embroideries) minus the hat, he was also wearing his utility belt that he always wore just about everywhere. And this time he actually checked and ensured they were very much in use. He also wore a backpack that’s large enough to store all of his support equipment for the practical exam.

“Izuku, you said your position in TF141 was a secret, right? Why are you wearing it now?” Pony suddenly asked. Since he still has his rank insignia on.

Well… I don’t have any other outfits that isn’t a “Shirt” shirt. And most people would assume that my uniform is just a military wannabe, or a nice-looking suit.” Pony nodded at Izuku’s explanation, and they continued to walk in comfortable silence.

When they finally arrived at UA High, they looked at the main building in awe. Their dream hero school is finally within their reach. Now, they only need to pass the entrance exam and then they’d officially be UA students.

“Are you two gonna stand there and block the way or what?” Bakugou asked from behind them with his ever present scowl on his face.

“Well… not really?” Izuku said as he bashfully rubbed the back of his neck. He walked through the gate shortly after Katsuki passed the two of them, with Pony slightly behind him. “Good morning, KaaAAAT!?”

He tripped on a slightly lifted brick. But when he was about to prepare either his tripped leg or his hand to land safely to prevent his face to meet the ground, someone grabbed the back of his collar and prevented him from falling face first.

“Careful there, Zuku. It’d be bad luck if you faceplanted before the exam started.” Pony said after she released his collar.

“Thanks, Pony.” The green haired boy replied.

A moment later, the bell suddenly rang. And the couple rushed into their respective room to take the written test.

Overall, the written test was easier than Izuku thought it’d be. The only difficult things about it were the wide variety of the questions (and some of the more obscure hero-related questions that weren’t early PM-HA history related, but those were simply bonus points).

At lunch, he’d asked Pony about how she was doing in her exam. In which she answered that she had little to no trouble understanding it, but the wide variety of the questions slightly overwhelmed her.

“Zuku, how was your written test?”

“Pretty much the same as yours.” Izuku shrugged.

Then hr heard his phone pinged. He checked that it was from Liz, his friend from BSW. She told him that her team would be assigned to assist the 141 in their commission from Rhodes.

Reminded of said commission, Izuku then also checked the private UNHC network in his phone just in case that the joint operation that Rhodes gave to TF141 and BSW got an update.

So far, the only lead that they have is the TF141 spec ops team’s objective is on an abandoned pyrite mine somewhere in Republic of China. While BSW team’s objective is in one of the many former CCP’s nuclear launch facility.

It was originally going to be a job only for TF141, but because most of his teams, especially his Bravo Team had their own business to do, Rhodes also contacted BSW to complete the teams needed. Since Rhodes also has their own priority mission. Namely their war with the European Neo MLA – or more accurately MSA.

I’ll need to check whether Alpha and Charlie team are available within the upcoming week. I also need to tell Alexei to improve the quirk inhibitor compound to work without needing to have the target to use Trigger first. And then. . . “ Izuku trailed off muttering in an incomprehensible mix of Russian and English.

“-Zuku, Izuku… Earth to Zu-chan.” Pony tried to get Izuku’s attention. Which immediately brought him back from his mutter spree

“Wha? Oh, did I start rambling again?” Izuku asked as he pocketed his phone.

“Hehe, yeah. Don’t you usually think silently?” his girlfriend asked with a giggle.

“Well… I usually do, but I always mumbled my thought process when I’m strategizing or reading an important information near my fellow members, or my trustworthy friends and families.” The 141 leader rubbed the back of his neck in slight embarrassment with how he emphasized “families”.

Pony blushed slightly at that remark. But she quickly recovered. “Will you tell the pro heroes here?”

“Yes, but if I’m surrounded by other students, I’d just tell them indirectly. They seem trustworthy enough to me. I just don’t want the HPSC to butt in to matters where they really shouldn’t, legal PMC matters are one of them.” Izuku paused to take a sip of water, then he continued. “I’m probably just overly cautious, but I still have some trust issues because of that.”

He was glad that they were one of the early ones to be in the cafeteria.

They ate their lunch in comfortable silence as the rest of the test participants entered the cafeteria.

“Can I get a HEY!” Present Mic the Voice Hero exclaimed, only to receive silence from the auditorium.

“Sheesh, Tough crowd.” He mumbled.

It’s probably because all of us are nervous as heck.” The green haired boy muttered in Russian, although several participants around him can hear him, even though they don’t understand a what he had just grumbled .

“ALRIGHTY!, I will start to explain the practical exam, so try to listen carefully, YEAH?”

Izuku gave Present Mic a visible hand motion as a signal of a compromise of responding to him while not screaming on top of his lungs.

Then, Present Mic explained the practical exam’s rules and system. But Izuku felt that they left out something on purpose.

“Looks like they put us in different areas.” Izuku noted after he took a glance at Katsuki’s examinee card.

“Don’t want anybody start stealing kills now would we?”

I wouldn’t have to Katsuki.” He teased.

“Damn it Nerd! Would you stop saying shit in Russian!” Katsuki yelled at Izuku, visibly irritated.

Нет.

“Fuck you!”

Izuku just smirked at Katsuki’s annoyance. They turned their attention back to Present Mic, since he was about to explain the fourth robot after a slightly long explanation on the other 3 robots.
“Excuse me. In this pamphlet it says that there are four robots while you only showed three. If this is a misprint, UA should be ashamed of such a small mistake!” A boy that with blue hair and stiff posture stood up and exclaimed loudly as his hand chopped the air repeatedly. “And you there! the one with green hair. Stop your mumbling, it’s quite distracting and disturbing the other examinees. And where’s your middle school uniform? You should be embarrassed of this miscon-“

Dumbass, I was homeschooled. I don’t have a middle school uniform. And if muttering could distract you then you should learn to focus on more important things! Hero work is full of 'distractions'.” Izuku yelled to him for cutting Present Mic’s explanation on why the detail was left out.

Slowly Present Mic  diffused the tense atmosphere by explaining that the 4th robot is a was simply a gimmick and worth 0 points.

Izuku squinted his eyes at the silhouette with a 0 on it. Slightly suspicious of the proportions were being shown on the screen.

The examinees had varying reactions when they saw the size of the artificial city that served as their exam site. but most of them were “Wow, that’s huge” and “As expected of U.A.”. but it quickly faded as their nervousness once again hit most of them at full force.

Meanwhile, a curly green haired boy wearing a light military gear was preparing his weapons. Most of the other examinees there gave him were quite concerned that UA let a relatively short boy bring in a Grenade launcher attached to a gun. As well as even MORE guns.

As he was doing his final checkups on the M203, he felt a hand grab his shoulder. Izuku saw that it’s the stuck-up guy that he yelled at back in the auditorium.

“Hmm? What do you want?”

“Why have you brought in a gun? On the public page it was stated that firearms, unless needed or related to a person’s quirk. That they were forbidden past UA. Even if was allowed, you’re clearly under the age gun licenses could be possibly obtained. Do you even have the necessary paperwork to even be using those weapons?!” His hands chopped each time a word exited his mouth.

“1 and 2, Underaged teens can have a gun license if they’re either has a quirk related to it or a quirkless person that can safely use said firearms. 3rd, my guns are technically support items. And last, I’ve registered every single one of my weapons. ” Izuku explained to the guy. He also noticed that Present Mic was already on the tower overlooking them, and the gate to the testing area was opening slowly.

“Anyways, the exam is going to start. And it seems you’re the one disturbing everyone else. Good luck to you all.” After that Izuku quickly slid into combat mode seamlessly.

“And GO!” Present Mic’s yell was enhanced by his quirk as the gate fully opened. Almost all of the examinees stared at the voice hero. While a certain green bush was already running into the faux city, shooting robots left and right.

“There’s no count down in real fights! That guy has the right idea- Wow he’s really going at it!” The Voice Hero told the examinees that were still standing. And chaos ensued as the dozens of examinees ran into the faux city to hunt down the robots that hasn’t gotten shot down by the boy.

Izuku was having a blast. The robots’ weak points were obvious enough to notice if you had good eyes. And the eyes of the robots were just target for his gun. He has 5 mags each for his pistol and his rifle. And he just emptied his 1st rifle mag pocketing it to bring it home later. “Alright, that’s about 32 points.”

He continued his robot massacre while also helping the other examinees who were cornered by the robots.

He then saw a faux parking building full of 1-pointer and several 2-pointers. The boy sprinted into the wall near the entrance and assessed the situation.

They seem to be waiting here until most of the robots outside got destroyed.” He thought as he sneaked into the building and hid behind a car near the window about ten meters from the door.

He saw a tightly packed group of robots near him. He grinned like a madman as a crazy idea appeared in his mind. Izuku loaded his M203 with an HE round, aimed it to land somewhere in the center of the cluster of robots, after quadruple checking nobody was there he aimed and shot the grenade as he yelled loudly.

“Fire in the hole!”

It gave him the desired effect. As the robots were distracted by his yell, the flying high explosive went unnoticed. And the robots that were near the grenade’s stopping position got destroyed. He at least got three more points from that.

Since the villain-bots are now focused on him, Izuku readied his M4A1 and set it to full auto. Still grinning like a madman, he uttered this sentence. “It’s time for full auto in building.”

First, he aimed his gun at the nearest group of robots consisting of one 2-pointer and four 1-pointers. He sprayed the 2-pointer at the center of its head once, then twice. It shut down soon after from the damage it suffered from the API bullets. Then he shot the 1-pointers next with each shut down from one shot to its eye.

He quickly ran through his ammo reserve by rinsing and repeating the process to each of the robot groups. Quickly earning 7 more kills and increasing.

In a dark room dimly lit by the monitors connected to the cameras viewing the exam sites, the U.A staff – especially the ones in charge of the hero courses – were observing the exam.

“In this practical exam, the examinees don’t get information about the amount of the villain bots in their area. Their time is limited and placed in a wide area. they have to find the villains themselves.” A high-pitched voice explained.

“The ability to gather information quickly.” The main screen switched to a boy with six arms.

“The ability to move quickly in the field.” The screen switched to a boy with dark blue hair and thick blocky calves.

“The ability to stay calm in all situations.” Then it switched again to a blonde boy that had a laser beam shooting from his stomach.

“And pure combat ability.” The screen switched to Bakugou, who was standing in the center of broken robots with his hands smoking. He then proceeded to blast another robot who was about to ambush an unsuspecting examinee.

“What about the boy with a full combat gear there?” Another voice, this time was a gruff, tired almost-never-sleep voice.

The screen switched to Izuku. he has his M4A1 in his right hand while his left hand was holding a broken piece of metal railing that had a sharp tip.

Izuku had just cleaned the parking building of robots. The second floor was empty, so he assumed that the ones he destroyed were the ones originally on the 2nd floor.

He figured out that the robots’ plates were thin enough to be stabbed with a sharp enough weapon if the wielder has enough strength.

And luckily, the strength required is just about equal of the strength of a 15-year-old war veteran. So, he conserved some ammo by using the makeshift spear and his knife that probably became even more blunt now.

Izuku was about to run to his rough approximation of the city center. But then he saw a boy with wild violet hair that looked like he’d been blown away by a strong wind.

Instinct took over, and he ran to the 3-pointer with a war cry, startling the other boy. The green haired boy slung his AR to his back and held the makeshift spear tightly, pulling back the arm holding it.

He jumped over the purple haired boy from a debris and threw the railing point-blank straight into the 3-pointer’s head. The piece of metal struck its electrical component inside the head and deactivated it.

“Are you okay?” he asked to the still shocked boy who just nodded in confirmation.

“What’s your name and quirk? Or if you’re not comfortable with it, is it combat oriented, or no?” Izuku asked. The second question was more for a confirmation on his prediction than anything.

“Hitoshi Shinsou. No, and my quirk only works on humans.” He answered.

So, I was right.” Izuku thought as he gave Shinsou the makeshift spear. “Here, if you’re strong enough, you can damage them using this.”

“Why don’t you give me your gun, then?” he asked dryly. He felt that it was almost an insult on his scrawny body.

“If someone is injured or killed because you misfired, it’s on you.” Izuku stated as he shot a 3-pointer that was approaching them with his pistol. “Also, trying to use a knife to stab them is even harder.” He then left Shinsou and ran to the most active part of the city.

“Izuku Midoriya. Quirk: N/A.” the gruff voice read Izuku’s registry aloud. “Registered support items are an M4A1 with M203 grenade launcher attachment, an FN 5-7, and a combat knife.” He was unsure that giving a quirkless kid a gun is a good idea. He felt a headache slowly coming up.

“Does he even have a gun license?” A feminine voice asked

“Relax, Midnight, Eraserhead. I personally supervised his licensing exam 10 months ago. He’s one of the best damn marksmen I’ve seen. That’s counting the people with gun or ranged weapon related quirks who I’ve supervised.” Snipe commented.

Then they heard Midnight snickered. At the same time the on the screen was a clear image of Izuku’s pistol grip, which was colored purple and had a picture of a recognizable anime girl on it. (Yes, he has a custom Akemi Homura grip decal)

“Anyway… There’s about 2 minutes left of the exam. Let’s see how they deal with this.” A person pushed their finger on a big red button.

Izuku was busy helping the other examinees from the flying debris from a bunch of careless teens getting too excited destroying the robots without looking at their surroundings. He’d lost count of his points since his full auto rampage in the parking

building.

He had two extra mags remaining including the one currently loaded on his rifle, and he only used 4 shots out of the 10 grenades he brought. While his pistol was left on its 2nd mag.

Suddenly, the ground shook. Buildings around the city center had some of their walls crumbling down. He had to quickly pull a green haired girl with large eyes from an incoming debris. And from the dust cloud emerged a giant robot with multiple eyes – the zero pointer.

Everyone was panicking and running away from the bot. Izuku was also about to run away, but a scream gained his attention stopped him.

As he looked behind him, he saw flashes of what happened in Prague, Czech – their failed assassination mission – and froze for a few moments. Before his vision changed back into a giant robot – the zero-pointer – tearing through the city, with no care that a person was stuck under a rubble.

Izuku ran straight to the robot’s path, ignoring the others’ shout and warnings on the way, fully focused on a girl was stuck under a rubble on the zero-pointer’s path.

“Are you hurt?’ Izuku asked as he tested the weight of the rubble. It was way too heavy for him to lift. As he looked closer to the girl, it was the same girl that floated several two and three pointers earlier.

“I-I think my ankle is broken. And my quirk is exhausted.” She explained with a strained voice.

Oh god damnit.” Izuku muttered, quickly formed a plan to stop the robot by himself. Since the other examinees were already too far to hear his voice. Maybe except that same blue haired glasses guy if he chased him here.

Izuku explained his plan to the brown-haired girl. He moved the remaining grenades for his grenade launcher to some easier to access place and loaded one into the launcher.

It’d be hard for the girl- Oh, right. I haven’t gotten your name.” Izuku rubbed his face.

“O-Ochako Uraraka.”

“Izuku Midoriya.”

"It’d be hard on Uraraka’s stomach, but it’s better than risking being crushed by a giant freaking robot."

As Ochako touched him with all of her fingers, he jumped into the air with only his equipment weighing him down. He got to the same height as the 0-pointer’s head and began furiously barraging its head by dumping the rest of his rifle magazine, all of his launchable grenades, and finally the Pyro grenades.

The grenades exploded inside its head. Destroying various parts of that was left of its internal machinery. It stopped moving and began to start internally exploding as well.

Izuku got blown away by the shockwave. His only saving grace from being splattered on the ground is his attempt at deceleration using the recoil of his rifle and the apparently semi-telekinetic nature of Ochako’s quirk.

“R-release…” Ochako tapped all of her fingertips and deactivated her quirk. Since she overused her quirk so much and it upset her stomach, she then proceeded to vomit… rainbows.

Huh, a side effect of her quirk, perhaps.” Izuku grabbed a fairly long metal plate that was dropped from the 0-pointer explosion and walked to Ochako. He ignored the puddle of rainbow that also strangely smelled like rain and raised the large piece of rubble that pinned Ochako down by using the metal plate like a lever.

Ochako held Izuku’s free hand while crawling and got dragged out of her position carefully. When she got close enough to the green haired boy, she heard him muttering something about how most of them don’t even have the drive to help others currently in need.

“I think your ankle is just sprained, thankfully it’s not broken like you thought it was.” The green-haired boy said, taking his time to check up her ankle.

“Wait, how about your points? There’s still a little bit of time left.”

“What’s one more point compared to a person’s wellbeing?” Izuku said as the horn signaling the exam’s end.

“Time’s UP!”

“Uraraka-san, I can bring you to the infirmary if you want to.” Izuku said as he clicking all of his weapons to safety mode and holstering them.

Izuku brought her to the faux city gate, Recovery Girl quickly taking notice and was now walking towards them.

“Is anyone else hurt deary?” She asked the green haired boy.

Izuku pointed at Uraraka. “Not that I know of, but she is.”

Izuku gladly accepted Recovery Girl’s energy-dense gummies, as he still had some stuff to do in the main HQ’s lab before heading home.

Or most likely accompany Pony and teach her some more casual day-to-day Japanese as well as some higher-level Japanese. Or maybe Russian if she wanted to.

Well… problem for future him.

As he left the exam site, he saw the same wild violet hair – Shinsou – and took notice of his disappointed face.

“You look gloomy, what’s wrong?”

“I only got 5 points… the one-pointers always stay in group, the two pointers are too agile, and the three pointers’ weak point is too hard to reach.” Shinsou explained.

“Well, you just need to train that weak body of yours. In hero work your quirk wouldn’t always work, so don’t be too reliant to it.” Izuku squeezed his shoulder as a comforting gesture. “by the way, I’m quirkless.” Izuku suddenly dropped as he ran towards the school gate.

“WHA?” Shinsou asked dumbly, too shocked to actually move.

Izuku was assaulted by his girlfriend as he was approaching the gate.

“Izu!” she jumped onto Izuku’s back. His bag was on his right hand.

Hi Honey.” He said with a small smile.

“Uh, what?” Pony asked as she climbed down from Izuku’s back.

“Nothing, I can teach you Russian if you want. You seem to enjoy talking to the Russians when we’re training.” Izuku offered. “How did your exam go?”

“It was fun. It’s really easy to disable the robots by impaling its eyes. Even then the robots’ armor is thin enough for my horns to shoo through one layer.” She grinned. “I think I got 55 points.” Then her smile fell into a frown. “But there’s this one guy that keeps on ogling me every time I’m in his vision. He also said something that I think is degrading after I saved him from a 3-pointer.”

Izuku’s smile turned into a small frown. Whoever this guy is definitely didn’t get any education about proper decency. He would talk to the boy if he got into the hero course. Or at least U.A.

Then Pony asked Izuku about his part of the practical exam to temporarily distract themselves from that spiral.

Izuku then explained his side of the exam to pony. She listened closely on his recount and praised him on his score of maybe possibly over 60 points, and for also saving a lot of people as well

“Can we get some ice cream before we go home?” She asked.

“Sure.”

“Yay!”

Chapter Text

“Thank you Eraserhead for agreeing to join us in this mission. I’m sure you have several questions but please save that for the end.” A figure wearing a full body combat gear said. Their face was hidden behind their balaclava and NV goggles. Their voice absolutely distorted to be more similar to an A.I. than an actual human voice.

“This mission is a commission from the Rhode Island Hero Association who had noticed a spike in activity in an abandoned pyrite mine in Yunfu and a nuclear launch facility in Jiuquan. We’re assigned to clear the Yunfu mine and disarm a villain with a remote detonation quirk.” They explained the main objective of the mission. “The target has a signal booster on their back to ensure they won’t lose the missile once it has launched.”

“The pyrite mine has an abundance of sniper nests and traps after a quick scan from a drone. Which were not there when our informant supposedly went there. So, proceed with caution.” The screen behind the person explaining the mission switched into a map of the mine, it was dated 20 years ago, overlayed with new information from the drone. “There’s a hub in the center of the mine that connects to the entrance, several checkpoints and branching mineshafts. Officer Ch’en – our informant – told us about the expansion of the shafts into the mazes with outposts and armories. While the hub itself has been divided into several areas that served as the main base of operation."

“Also, this is information for the sidekicks in team Alpha, Charlie, and Eraserhead’s group. This mission is not an ordinary villain base raid mission. This mission is a commission from a nation’s military force. Treat this as a military operation. The main goal of this villain organization is to spark a war. And they have the means to do so at any moment.” They finished the briefing on a grave note. Making some of the attendees grimaced.

“Any questions?” the short person – now that they were standing, it’s clear that they were quite short – asked as they reduced the synthetic voice filter on their mask.

Eraserhead spoke up “Why did you request me for this kind of mission? I don’t even have an international hero license.”

“We have the permission from the higher-ups to temporarily recruit an underground hero into this mission. And your quirk is a safer alternative for the quirk suppressant compound that requires trigger to take effect.” Another person answered. He was wearing a skull balaclava with sunglasses that covers his eyes and a headset on his head.

“Thanks for answering Ghost. I can’t explain it as clearly as you do.” The short man – or possibly a teenage boy from their voice – said. “Any other question?”

A man wearing a warm Ushanka raised his hand. “Rules of engagement, sir?”

“Crew Expendable. All of them are equal to class-A villains. S+ if any survive going through with their plan.”

After a moment of silence, Bravo-6 concluded the meeting with saying that further information will be received straight from the RoC’s defense force and a suggestion to the operators who patrolled at night to take a rest for the day. Since they will depart tomorrow early afternoon.

After Eraserhead left the room, Bravo-6 took of his balaclava and inactive night vision goggles. Revealing his curly green hair and viridian eyes.

“God… that was so stressful.” Izuku muttered as he lit his cigar. “Tomorrow I’m also going to receive my letter from U.A. I hope I get in without trouble.”

“Didn’t you say that you’re confident on your score?” Ghost asked.

“That’s not what I’m concerned about.” The green haired soldier waved his cigar idly. At the same time his personal phone rang with its default ringtone.

Izuku took his phone and tapped at the new notification. It was a message from an unknown number.

[Unknown Number]: You do not need to worry about it, as long as you keep it to yourself. I already know your second identity.  Speaking of which, you can announce it to the rest of the faculty the day after tomorrow.

                                -U.A Principal

“That damn stoat.” Izuku shook his head with a slight amusement. “I guess that means I got accepted then.”

“What was that Cap?” Simon Riley noticed the amused look of his captain.

“Nezu – the U.A. principal – overheard my conversation with Pony. And then I think he hacked into the CCTVs on my neighborhood and saw me smoking after he looked at my documents.” Izuku explained after he exhaled a plume of smoke.

The 141 Lieutenant nodded his head. Then he also departed from the room to start his patrol. The alpha team leader knows that his captain prefers that he take a full rest. But he reasoned that his patrol will be shorter than usual.

Izuku also left the meeting room as the place is now empty, save for the janitor. As he wore his jacket as the night air was quite cold.

[The Next Day, TF141 HQ Airfield]

“Remember, this is a military operation, not an ordinary villain base raid. I want all of you in your best condition. Yes, including you, Eraserhead. You’re with us now. Also, Ghost, I’m counting on you as the mission leader.” Bravo-6 said as 25 people prepared to enter the airplane.

“You got it, Cap.” Ghost saluted as he entered the airplane.

The personnel transport then took off as the last person board it and closed the door. Leaving Izuku with several on-site airfield operators.

A few moments later, he got a call from Pony. He pulled his phone to his ear and answered it.

“Hello, My Little Pony, what’s up.”

“Izu, have you received your U.A. letter? I’ve received mine.” Her voice was a mix of nervousness and excitement.

“I’m going to check my mail, but I’m still at the HQ right now. I’m going to go home now and see if it has arrived.” Izuku replied. “Do you want to open it together?”

“Of course. Then if we’re both accepted, we can celebrate together.”

“Alright, I’ll wait there.” Izuku said before he heard several heavy footsteps and the call ended.

Izuku just shook his head at his girlfriend’s antics. And continued to walk home.

[Midoriya Residence]

Izuku was just about to put down the tea he prepared for him and Pony when a knock came from the front door. Izuku put down the tea on the table near the sofa and walked towards the door.

He opened the door and greeted his girlfriend, and then Pony immediately dragged him to the couch. “Hey, hey. Relax, we’re not in a hurry.” Izuku said in amusement of his girlfriend’s excitement.

“I’m sure she’ll be nervous enough to ask me to open mine first.” Izuku thought.

He followed her to the table and excused himself to go get his letter from his room. It only took a minute, and he can already see the nervous excitement on Pony’s face.

Izuku put his envelope down on the table and poured the Darjeeling tea for the two of them. Meanwhile, Pony is looking at her envelope, then Izuku’s face, and then his U.A envelope that’s suspiciously a little bit thicker than hers.

“Well, ladies first.” Izuku teasingly said. His smile got wider as she pouted. They kept their eye contact for a while, until the equine girl relented and proceed to open her letter.

Inside was a student ID card, a letter and a… small disc?

They silently wondered about the disc and then they saw a small holo-projector lens on the “top” side of it.

Then suddenly it turned on with a loud “Booyah!” booming from its speaker. It startled them and she dropped the tiny projector to the table. Thankfully, it landed safely right-side-up.

The hologram showed All Might in an eye-grating yellow striped tuxedo with his signature smile.

“Young Tsunotori, I am here to tell you that you passed the exam with flying colors. You have passed your written exam with an 85% score! More than enough to get into general education.” The screen switched to the general written exam scoreboard. It also showed that Pony is in the top 10.

“As your practical exam, you gathered in total of 55 points. That is enough to enter the hero course, but! There’s another point system that added later, THE RESCUE POINTS!” All Might’s then showed the recordings of Pony rescuing and pushing away fellow examinees from the falling debris. Even as far as running back and forth on all fours to evacuate everyone who are too exhausted to run away from the zero-pointer’s path.

“What kind of hero school that doesn’t look at their potential student’s heroic actions?” The screen switched back to All Might. His voice booming even with the volume set to 50%. “For this, the examiners granted you 40 rescue points. You have a total of 95 points! Pony Tsunotori, this is your hero academia.”

The two teenagers sat there in shock. The scoreboard screen showed that Pony is in the 2nd place, with her unusually high score, thanks to the intense training they did in the 10 months preparation.

Izuku was also in shock. Because he immediately sees that the person in the 1st place is him. Not wanting to waste time, he immediately snatched his letter and opened it. Inside of it was almost the same as Pony’s, but there are 2 UA security cards in it; Student ID and a black card with TF141’s logo on the back of it.

Ah, right. The security system upgrade contract

The video inside the Holo-projector is pretty much the same as Pony’s. But there are some differences like his score that hit the top 3 in the combined course written exam, a video of Ochako asking Mic to give him her score, and he got 64 villain points and 50 rescue points in the hero practical exam.

He gathered in total of 114 points with only his experience, 2 guns, several magazines, and several grenades.

And he’s the first quirkless student that entered UA’s hero course.

“You did it, Izu-kun! You did it.” Pony tackled Izuku and got him out of his shock.

We did it, Pony. We’re accepted into UA.” Izuku said happily. He returned his girlfriend’s sudden hug and teared up in joy.

After they calmed down and finished their tea, the front door was opened and an “I’m home” was heard by the two teenagers.

Inko had just finished her work. Since Izuku has his own job, she can cut down her workload to almost half of her usual.

“Welcome home, mom. Can you come here?” Izuku greeted his mother and rewind the acceptance letter recording to the final scoreboard.

“What’s up, Izuku? oh, hello Pony.”

Izuku showed her the scoreboard, and immediately the patented Midoriya Waterworks came out of Inko’s eyes. She hugged her son tightly in tears of joy.

[1 day later, 08:00 AM. UA High School]

“Why does Nezu ask us to have a meeting this early…” a female voice yawned as she trudged on the hallway towards the meeting room.

She has long white hair tied into a ponytail and a pair of horse ears on her head. Her eyes are gold with visible eye pockets from working overtime. She currently wears her hero costume that consists of a white sideless shirt, a white Assassin Union cloak and a pair of white shorts with a TF141 belt. She also wielded a heavy compound bow that was slightly shorter than her height.

“Seriously, why does Eraserhead have such a long patrol route? That man is the embodiment of illogical logic. If he wants to have a rest before his daytime job, he should just shorten his patrol time. There are enough underground heroes to cover his current patrol route just about 5 times over anyway. The 141 has more than enough of them.” She mumbled. Her sleepy voice was low enough to be only heard by herself.

She entered the meeting room and immediately sat on the nearest empty chair and rested her head on the table.

Noticing the filled seat beside him, Snipe greeted the second year ranged weapon/quirk instructor. “Good morning, Kazimiera-san.”

“Hmh… morning.” Kazimiera replied sleepily.

“You still have your Assassin Bow on you.”

“I know, I’m too lazy to put it away. Before you ask, three words: Eraser’s patrol route.” She explained. “Haah… I need a raise.”

When she was sleepily ranting, the door opened without any noise. And a synthetic voice commented on Kazimiera’s explanation. “So, THAT’s why he always seems tired.”

Bravo-6’s sudden entrance made the Polish pegasian hero jolted from her slumped position to a straight posture.

“I’m awake, sir!” she exclaimed, body posture tense.

“Don’t worry about it, Platinum. You’re technically on a break right now.” Izuku dismissed Kazimiera’s attempt at being fully awake, letting her to relax.

Izuku sat on the remaining empty seat and greeted Nezu who returned the greeting.

They had a brief silent dialogue, and then the currently masked Izuku stood up and introduced himself and the reason why he is there.

“Good morning, everyone. All of you probably know me as Bravo-6.” Then he put off his helmet, NV googles and balaclava, revealing his face. “My real name on the other hand, only those in police force, some trustworthy governmental body and paramilitary organizations know. My name is Izuku Midoriya, 15 years old. My official rank is technically general, but it opens up a bad memory. So, I’m still a Captain.”

“I’m here to discuss the security upgrade that Nezu requested, and while I’m here, I also want to reveal my identity to the staffs – mainly the teachers – first so if I’m needed for something related to hero or military work, you’ll know why. Or maybe if you caught me smoking in an empty room after a stressful workday.” Izuku explained. With the last part in Russian.

Only Nezu and Platinum understood the last part. Izuku then sat back down.

After several minutes of back-and-forth discussion with most of the staff, it was decided that they’d upgrade the security in the main building first in the week before the first school day, and the rest of UA in the upcoming weeks after. Since the equipment to cover area as vast as UA was currently unavailable since it was sold primarily for military bases. And the Hosu branch wanted to build a secondary base with their own airfield in the near future.

“Tadi iku pacarmu Kapten?” someone suddenly asked. When Izuku looked at the source, it was a man that was clearly Asian but not from Japan.
“Yes, Lupo. why do you ask?” Izuku said as he pocketed his phone and tucked his balaclava away.
“Sampeyan bli langsung kawin bae? Kowe wong loro wis kaya suami istri.” He said as he slowly backed away and holding his laugh.
“Ngarang bae. SMA bae durung wis ngomongi kawin. Aja lari woi asu!” The green haired boy yelled as he ran away.

Chapter Text

Today is the first day he’s officially a student of U.A High School. The number one school in Asia for heroics, and number three overall if not for ASEAN’s SEA Union High and RoC’s Lungmen Public High School.

He’s happy that he was finally able to attend school and learn the full extent of heroics for three years. At least, he hoped that is the case. Since out of every active combat operator of TF141, he’s the only one not getting a heroics crash course because of the amount of paperwork he had to fill and his own decision shortly after.

Thanks for pushing everything to me, Ghost.

He got up from his bed and prepared himself for the day ahead of him. Izuku prepared his conceal carry Glock 21 and its extra magazines that he took last night after finishing his paperwork.

Izuku then headed out of their small apartment to go to school, but then Inko stopped him just before he reached the door.

“I’m so proud of you, Izuku.” she hugged her son dearly. “I’m also sorry that I doubted your dream… I should’ve supported you back then. And now you proved me wrong by becoming a hero. Even if it’s in another world.” Inko held her tears as much as she could to prevent herself from staining Izuku’s uniform.

Izuku reassured his mother that she didn’t need to apologize since she just wants him to be safe just like other good mothers do. But how she handled it could be better. Alas, the past is in the past, and they should focus on the present and prepare for the future.

“Um… mom, I have to go to school.” Izuku gently clapped her mom’s back.

Inko released her hug and wished Izuku to have a nice day. Izuku nodded and jogged to the train station heading to U.A.

Izuku sighed as he passed the complicated halls of U.A. he already knew where he had to go since he supervised the installation of the main building’s security system 3 days ago, but it was still a long walk from the entrance.

He got some curious glances from other students, especially the 2nd and 3rd years. But he paid them no mind, his military belt and its pouches are an unusual sight. He silently thanked God for them not noticing the Hero of Russian Federation medal that Nedzu asked him to wear.

You really like to mess with humans, huh.” Izuku thought as the exchange between him and Nedzu 3 days ago went into his mind briefly.

After another minute of short-ish walk, he arrived at 1-A’s giant door. He was amazed by it when he first saw it. He was still amazed, but not as much. He’d expect the feeling to wear out after a few times seeing it.

The deadliest bush in UA opened the door to only be greeted by Katsuki’s loud and aggressive voice and the blue-haired stuck-up guy arguing over Katsuki’s feet on top of his desk.

“Put your feet down! It’s unbecoming of you to disrespect the desk your upperclassmen used and disrespecting the maker!” The blue-haired boy exclaimed.

Katsuki just increased his voice’s volume and mocked the other boy as an extra. Typical of him.

Izuku mentally facepalmed but letting his sigh be audible. He put on his “Drill Instructor” face and straightened his posture.

“Katsuki, put your feet down. And stop antagonizing people.”

Said bomberanian put his feet down to their proper place with a tongue click. Izuku changed back to his “new” usual self; a neutral-faced teen who also looked like he had enough with the world.

“Thanks for your understanding, Kat-chan.” Izuku said with a smile that looked similar to his pre-war smile but it’s not the same as he passed Kat-chan towards his seat… right behind the personalization of BM-13’s loudness.

Izuku sat down in a relaxed position; his right leg crossing his left with his knee resting on the desk’s edge but not peeking over the desk.

Izuku saw the blue-haired boy stiffly walked towards him. He didn’t want to make any assumptions, but his defensive reflex betrayed his calm face.

“Hello, my name is Tenya Iida. From Somei Middle School.” He introduced himself. “I must say I didn’t expect a hidden part of the exam. Did you figure it out from the beginning?”

Izuku raised an eyebrow at Tenya’s question. Isn’t that what heroes should do in the first place? Or All Might’s power and his position conveyed a wrong message that a strong quirk makes a hero?

Izuku mentally shook his head to get his mind back on track.  “I’m Izuku Midoriya. Nice to meet you again.” Izuku nodded as he introduced himself to Tenya properly now, without being in a tense situation. “And for that question of yours, no I didn’t know about rescue score. I just did what heroes do.”

He then heard a faint running noise from outside of the classroom. No, it wasn’t a normal running sound, it sounded like hooves. Just a second after his internal monologue ended the door was opened by an exhausted Pony who was carrying the girl that he saved from the 0P bot – Ochako Uraraka, his mind supplied.

“Hey Pony, why did you look exhausted? Oh…” Izuku said as he looked at the wall clock.

“We…re… in time…” Pony said with a heavy breath. Ochako climbed down from Pony’s back, she looked slightly less exhausted than Pony, but the remnants of quickly searching for this classroom on that maze-like hallway were still evident on her face.

“Fucking Hell.”

He also noticed the bright yellow sleeping bag that wasn’t there 30 seconds ago. Right after the last two people entered the classroom.

“Pony, Uraraka, you might want to get seated quickly. There’s a chance that our homeroom teacher is here.” Izuku informed the two girls.

Everyone who was chatting to each other was alerted by Izuku’s words. They then just realized there’s a yellow caterpillar on the door. So, they did what students do, scramble to their assigned seats.

“Only one of you noticed me immediately. We need to work on that.” The sleeping bag opened and Eraserhead emerged out of it. he glanced over the students and refocused at the whole class. Only focusing on Izuku for a split second.

Ah, right, he was on a joint operation when I reveal my identity here.” Izuku mused.

“My name is Shota Aizawa. I’m your homeroom teacher. Put these on and meet me on the field.” He pulled a PE uniform out of his sleeping bag and left the class.

Izuku mentally sighed. “Your hero persona is better than this, Eraser. Who the hell left superpowered kids to their own devices?” Izuku stood up from his seat and took one PE uniform that has his name on its packaging. “Come on. You don’t want to be on his bad side. He expelled the entire 1-A last year.”

That set everyone else scrambling for the uniform and exit the classroom.

On the field behind UA’s main building, Aizawa was waiting for the students to come. He heard some footsteps approaching his general direction. The tired underground hero looked at the source, expecting one of his students. But instead, he saw a woman in a white outfit with both Assassin Union and TF141 logo on it walking towards a nearby tree.

“Don’t mind me, Eraser. I just want to take a rest away from those kids at orientation.” Kazimiera waved her hand and hopped onto a large branch. “I’ll watch your assessment test. Oh, also, take a small rest yourself. You look like you can fall asleep any minute.”

After two more minutes of waiting, all 20 students of class 1-A are present on the field.

“You all took 5 minutes to change. Heroes don’t have that luxury.” Aizawa said dryly to the class.

Izuku rolled his eyes. The actual changing took less than 2 minutes, the rest of the time was taken by the time it took to search for the changing room (and for convincing them he knows the general location to said changing room).

“We’ll do an assessment test to see what we have to work with.” Aizawa gruffly explained.

“But what about orientation?” Ochako asked.

Aizawa focused on Ochako for a few seconds before turning back to the whole class. “UA runs on an emphasis on freedom, that also includes the teachers’ teaching methods. Heroes don’t have the luxury to waste time on orientation.”

Izuku glanced at a nearby tree where Kazimiera was sitting. He asked her a silent question about Aizawa’s words about orientation being useless.

Kazimiera affirmed it by using polish sign language. “It’s Principal Nedzu’s cryptic speech. Nobody can understand him.”

Izuku gave her a small nod and focused back on Aizawa.

“From here on out, your lesson would include quirk training. The Ministry of Education must be procrastinating when they limit the quirked individuals to promote ‘Equality’. It’s illogical.”

“Midoriya, you scored first on the entrance exam, how far was your ball throw in middle school?”

Izuku looked up for a few seconds, then he answered honestly that the last time he did that test was 2 years ago, and it was 45 meters.

“Now you try it with whatever you have. I’m aware that you’re quirkless but I recognize concealed weapon when I see it.” Aizawa threw him a modified softball. It has the same weight as a regular softball, but it has a tougher shell and a GPS tracker in it.

“Way to announce my quirk status, sensei.” Izuku commented dryly.

The class, especially Iida was shocked that Izuku was carrying a gun on his person this whole time.

“Midoriya. A student shouldn’t have a gun!” Iida exclaimed with his hand chopping.

“Iida, Izu-kun already has permission for his conceal carry.” Pony explained. “He has a gun permit from Snipe’s agency. And he’s allowed to bring it anywhere he goes in case of emergency.”

Iida still looked unsure, but then Izuku convinced him to not think about it too much as he prepared to throw the ball.

“Besides…” Izuku did a perfect high throw. He then proceeds to take his handgun and followed the ball’s trajectory. As it reached its peak, the green marksman shot the ball with a rubber round. Rocketing it further. “I think I’m more qualified to handle heavy weaponry than Aizawa sensei here.” Izuku holstered his gun back and pointed at Eraserhead.

“Sure thing.” Aizawa said. Noting that Izuku’s handgun has TF141’s mark on it. Totally ignoring his experience with an enemy’s Dragunov.

“If it’s any reassurance, I only have rubber bullets on me. Other kinds of ammo are stored in 2nd year’s weapon range.” Izuku added.

It didn’t reassure them.

Aizawa’s phone pinged as the ball finally stopped moving. Aizawa didn’t bother saying the number out loud, so he showed it to the class directly. It showed 141 meters.

“We can use our quirks?! This is going to be fun!” Mina exclaimed. But then her excitement was repressed by Aizawa’s cold gaze.

“Fun, you say? Alright, how about this; the person who scored last will be expelled.” Aizawa announced.

Almost everyone except Momo and Izuku was shocked at the sudden declaration.

One was expecting it to be a ruse, and the other wasn’t pleased by it.

This is an assessment test, not a great filter.” Izuku muttered in Russian.

“But that’s not fair!” Izuku heard Ochako exclaimed.

“The world is full of unfairness. Villain attacks, natural disasters-“

Aizawa started a lecture about unfairness, but Izuku interrupted him by adding a few more points. “Dead friends, being framed for something you didn’t do, war, famine. There, that’s probably most of them. Yeah, this world is full of unfairness, but expelling someone who has already proved they’re capable of entering is stupid. What if they turned into vigilantism or villainy hm? Or worse, suicide.” Izuku challenged Aizawa’s declaration.

“You’ll live with the knowledge that you indirectly caused someone to fall through the crack. Even drill sergeants can work with the lowest-performing person and shape them up.”

Aizawa looked at Izuku with an unreadable face. But Izuku noticed a slight hint that his speech triggered a bit of bad memory.

Oops, didn’t expect that.” Izuku thought. As his bad memories rearing its ugly head before he forced it to retreat back.

“You’ll do the typical tests in PE classes, but this time you’re allowed to use your quirks or tools at your disposal,” Aizawa explained. He decided to store his thought on Izuku’s speech for later.

The first test was a 50-meter sprint. Everyone who has quirks that can boost their speed got time far above “excellent” for quirkless people, while the others whose quirk is near useless for this, or in Izuku’s case, none, are performing around average to excellent for said measurement. The captain himself got 6 seconds for his time.

Overall, Izuku was placed at the top of every test relative to those who have their quirk unsuitable for that specific type of test.

And Ochako got Infinity on the ball throw.

Except for the endurance running test. It was clear that if not for Tenya’s and Shoko’s quirk and Momo’s electric bike, the three of them would be at least on equal standing to him. He was currently the only one who’s not using any mobility quirk that was still on the track.

After several more minutes, Aizawa stopped the three remaining students on the track and then tallied the score.

Izuku saw his name located at the lower top-10 of the scoreboard, while Katsuki is in 3rd place. He also saw his girlfriend ranked just above him since she did better than him in the lower body test except endurance running since she hasn’t got used to running for that long yet.

And then he saw the no. 20 on the scoreboard, Minoru Mineta. He looked at the trembling midget who was crying about getting expelled and can’t see any girls.

He’ll be a tough one if Eraser changed his mind.” Izuku thought. “Fucking hell, I want to send him to Chernobyl, but I’ve seen people worse than him getting better.” He muttered with slight disgust in Russian.

“Also, I thought about it again, nobody is going to be expelled. It was supposed to be a ruse.” Aizawa looked at Izuku.

“What can I say? I saw too many teenagers died that way, once with my own hand. I don’t want to kill any more teenager villains that once wanted to be a hero.” Izuku said with an unfittingly neutral tone for the topic he's talking about.

“I’m just an intern, why do people make me do such difficult choices.” Izuku decided to drop a metaphorical bomb on them, so he didn’t need to explain it multiple times, as Nedzu suggested for his cover story.

It’s easier on his heart to take a half-truth than outright lying anyway. At least he brought up that he’s with a hero agency already.

That specific case was a villain killing people for happy chemicals. And he was too dangerous to be left alone, quirks are bullshit and things like that.

Aizawa silently exhaled. “We’ve wasted enough time here, dismissed. Your syllabus is on your table. And Mineta, if you don’t fix your attitude until Sports Festival, you’ll be transferred to Gen Ed.” He announced before he walked away from the class.

As the class went back to their classroom, Momo asked Izuku which hero he’s interning to. Izuku thought it wouldn’t hurt to tell them truthfully, and he answered with Ghost, TF141.

“Man, you already do an internship before you enter U.A? That’s manly!” The red-haired boy said as he hardened his fists.

“Kirishima, there’s nothing manly about it. I got the nickname [Green Death] because of that, not my proudest moment.” Izuku explained.

“Oh…” Eijiro muttered.

“It’s okay, not everyone knows that side of heroics. And it’s rare that you’ll ever get into that situation.” Izuku tried to console the teen.

God, I’m really messed up in the head, aren’t I?” Izuku thought as a desire to let off some steam entered his mind.

Chapter Text

Izuku grumbled as he heard a commotion on a dark alleyway near the street he’s walking on. Musutafu isn’t littered with crimes thanks to its distance to U.A, but when night crimes do happen, they’re usually the craftier types.

Even though he expected to encounter a crime on his night walk, it still mildly infuriated him that it happened.

Izuku put the cigar he was just about to lit back to his 3rd right belt pouch and readied his revolver filled with tranquilizer darts.

He peeked from the wall leading to the alley to see what’s making all the noises. From the way that the people in there were fighting, it seemed like that they are in a disagreement. After a brief examination of their appearance, he concluded that they’re villains.

One of them are, the rest were still unclear.

Just before he stepped in to ambush them, something rolled towards his feet.

By the look of things, they’re doing a drug deal, huh. An unsuccessful one at that.” Izuku thought before he continued with his plan.

Izuku fired at the large man attacking the other two first. He used two doses just to be sure he’ll fall asleep quickly.

It’s really difficult to overdose on Blacksteel’s Somnium compound. So, Izuku didn’t worry about the villain overdosing on it.

Seeing that the other two were too beaten up to move far, Izuku instead pulled his phone and checked on the three’s face using the Hero Network just to be sure that his memory was accurate.

“Hm, those beaten-up ones are just started on illegal Trigger dealing. While that brute… are you serious.” Izuku immediately soured at what he found. But his face remained neutral.

Izuku calmly loaded a 350 gr JHP bullet and shot the brute in the head once. Killing him instantly.

“What the fuck…” Izuku heard Aizawa’s voice behind him.

“Eraserhead.” Izuku nodded at the erasure hero. “I see you’re back on patrol. I just encountered Gangway by coincidence.”

Eraserhead looked like he’s about to say something. But another person spoke first.

“Green, I’ll take over from here. I’ve called the police.” The person said as they walked towards Izuku. “You can go home, kid. The others can sort out your paperwork.”

“Thanks, Ghost.” Izuku said at the hero with a smile.

“No problem, Green.” He replied as Izuku walked past him.

[The Next Day]

UA was… almost like what Izuku expected. A high school with normal school things outside of heroic lessons. Since that basically what a high school is from his observation in the other world; general educations with course-specific lessons added in. What is unusual however, is the fact that pro heroes are the ones teaching.

And it seemed that Aizawa’s overly harsh sink or swim method in teaching is an outlier, not a norm.

After a few hours of “First day of class” on different subjects, lunch finally came. Izuku not so subtly power walked to the cafeteria to get Lunch Rush’s signature quickly.

After he got his food and the signature, he went to an empty table and started eating his food. After a while, he heard a sound of hooves walking towards him.

Do you get Lunch Rush’s signature?” Pony asked as she sat down across of Izuku.

“Am I really that obvious?” Izuku asked her with a single chuckle.

For others, probably no. But not for me, mr ‘I can hear Ghost’s silent walk’.” Pony stated.

The two of them then descended into meaningless chatting while they’re eating lunch.

After lunch was over, they returned to 1-A classroom to wait for their heroic lesson teacher.

“I wonder who’s our teacher.” Someone asked. Izuku hadn’t really had the time to properly remember everyone’s names, but he won’t do a Katsuki and giving everyone strange nicknames.

“I sure hope it’s not Eraser.” Izuku said. And several people agreed with him. “Even with how useful his quirk would be in this job, he’s too trigger happy on expelling students. We’re here to learn, damnit.” Izuku added with using English on his last sentence.

He left out how he just killed Eraser’s first day-one expel last night. no need to traumatize these teenagers yet.

Then, a series of thundering footsteps could be heard by the class. At once, the class went silent. And a lot of the students became excited. Save for Izuku, who still have some dislikes towards him, but he can’t ignore All Might is a good hero.

“I AM… COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!” All Might said as he entered the classroom abnormally.

After a brief moment of silence, the classroom bar Izuku who just sighed inwardly erupted into cheers after they found out that All Might is their heroics teacher.

“No way, it’s All Might!”

“He really teaches here? Wow.”

“That’s his Silver Age costume, isn’t it? So retro.”

“Greetings, students. I’m here as your foundational heroics teacher.” All Might boomed. “All of you will learn the basics of heroics with me, All Might. And today, we will be doing…” All Might said with a slightly quieter voice after he noticed one student was uncomfortable with his loud voice.

“Battle Trial!” he boomed as he pulled out a card from… somewhere. “But before that, you’ll need your equipment!”

Soon after All Might whipped out a remote, 20 suitcases of varying sizes popped out of the wall at the back of the classroom.

“Wear your costume and meet me in Ground β.” All Might wore his signature smile as he went out of the classroom. Leaving the students to their own devices.

That’s what usually happen if the teacher isn’t the number 1 hero. Instead, the entire class 1-A quickly grabbed their suitcase. Izuku’s is rather large, but still far from the largest. Tenya had the largest one.

Izuku ended up being the last one to arrive at Ground β, despite being the first one to finish changing. “Sorry I’m late, All Might-Sensei. I just grabbed some extra mags from Kazimiera-Sensei’s classroom.” Izuku said, solidifying his reasoning by showing a rubber bullet filled P90 magazine.

Izuku showed up just 5 seconds after the rest of 1-A gathered around All Might. He then joined the rest of the class to listen to All Might’s explanation.

“You look good, Pony.” Izuku commented just before All Might started his explanation.

“You too, Green.” Pony returned the compliment.

“Since everyone’s already here, I’ll explain the exercise.” All Might announced. He then reached into a hidden pocket on his costume and read a note he stored there.

“At least he’s trying.” Izuku thought.

“Villains have planted a bomb that has to be guarded in the building. And two heroes have to stop the villains from detonating it by either touching the bomb or capturing the two villains in fifteen minutes.” All Might explained.

Izuku immediately noticed the reference to the mission that Aizawa did before the first day of class. Two villains guarding the bomb is similar to the villains guarding the detonator villain. And the 15 minutes mark is the time it took for the 141 to kill the detonator.

Or it could be a coincidence.

Before he can continue, Iida raised his hand and asked a question. “Sir, how would we determine the teams?”

“I was getting there, young Iida. We will decide the teams by drawing lots.” All Might said as he presented two boxes, each labeled “Team” and “Side” respectively.

“It’s decided randomly, then.” Iida said.

“It makes sense. While hero teams can choose who they’re working with when they begin their patrol, impromptu team-up happens quite often in the field.” Izuku said, answering Iida’s question before Iida could ask.

“Thank you for the explanation, Young Midoriya. Now, since we don’t have infinite time, let’s begin.” All Might said.

After a while, the teams had been determined. Izuku was a bit disappointed that Pony got a different team. And then he asked loudly on who has an “A” ball

“Hey, Nine!” Katsuki yelled as Izuku was looking for his paired teammate.

Nine?” Izuku thought as he approached Katsuki. “I assume you’re my teammate, then. I hope you can cooperate with me without problem.” Izuku said, trying to warn him if he went back to his old “I’m the best” mindset.

“Whatever.” Katsuki replied without any bite to it.

Before Izuku can question him about the nickname, All Might announced that the first battle would be between Team A and team C. With his team being the hero and team C being the villain. He also gave communicators to both team that only linked to All Might’s and each other’s teammate.

“The villain team have 5 minutes to prepare. And Young Midoriya, Young Bakugou, be careful with your weapons, alright?” All Might said before he and the rest of them went to the control room.

After everyone went away, Izuku and Katsuki started to talk.

“Nine, huh?”

“Tch, do you still want to be called Deku?” Katsuki replied.

“I’m not complaining. Anyway, do you have a plan?” Izuku asked as he formed his own plan.

Katsuki nodded and explained how he would quickly check the rooms one by one from floor 1 to 6 with Izuku helping and prepare for a possibility of Momo reinforcing the door using her quirk.

“With the speed I’m moving, I’ll sweat more, and I can fill this support equipment faster. Then if the door to the room that High Class and Grape is locked and reinforced, I can blast it away with this. And then we’ll capture both of them. I’m sure High Class can reinforce a door with a quirk that can make a fucking cannon.” Katsuki explained as well as explaining the function of his massive grenade gauntlets.

Izuku was surprised that Katsuki didn’t plan to go unga bunga and just form one when he needs one. Outwardly, he just raised his right eyebrow.

“Huh, I have the same idea as you, minus the support equipment parts. Alright, we’ll use your plan.” Izuku said as he pulled out a box from one of his pouches.

Katsuki was about to snatch it up from Izuku’s hands. But then he read what the text in front of the small box and stopped himself.

“What? I’m not stupid enough to smoke in school.” Izuku said before he bit one pocky stick. But he himself doubt that statement.

Meanwhile, the villain team was currently setting up their room and the fake bomb on the 5th floor.

Well, Momo was. Minoru was busy ogling at Momo and psyching himself up.

Momo can only sigh at her teammate’s inability to do what he had to. Or at the very least keeping his perverseness to himself.

After 5 minutes has passed, All Might gave the 1st teams a go on the exercise. Katsuki began to run and check every room on the 1st floor and every other odd numbered floor, while Izuku check on the even numbered ones.

Eventually, Katsuki came across a reinforced door on the 5th floor while Izuku was combing through the 4th floor.

“Hey, Nine. I found the fucking door.”

“Roger, Kat. Don’t breach it before I arrive.” Izuku replied as he ran to the stairs with his P-90 on hand.

After he informed Izuku, Katsuki only needed to wait for less than a minute for Izuku to arrive and positioned himself away from the blast zone.

“After I say breaching, blast the door.” Izuku said to Katsuki. He nodded and aimed his right gauntlet to the reinforced door, while his left was on the pin.

“Ready to breach.”

Roger that. 3, 2, 1… BREACHING!”

On cue, Katsuki released the pin from its place and detonated all of the nitroglycerin sweat in it. The door itself still holds on to the frame, but the entire wall around the doorframe broke apart and the door fell with a heavy thud.

“Flashbang out!” Izuku quickly grabbed a flashbang and threw it into the room to make sure Momo and Minoru were disoriented.

After it detonated, the duo entered the room and focused on the villain, so if the villain team made a fake bomb, they can still win the exercise.

Izuku zeroed on Minoru and fired two 5.7mm tranq on him. The compound acted quickly, and he fell asleep in 10 seconds. Izuku then tied his arms with capture tape to officially take him out of the exercise, while in real world scenario he usually just leaves his targets as is, since they’re usually dead anyway.

Katsuki meanwhile blew himself straight at Momo who was still disoriented from the breach blast and the flashbang.

Momo noticed Katsuki’s attack and dodged to the best of her currently disoriented self can. His attack only managed to get a glanced hit on her hair.

Momo hastily form a small shield and a metal pole to try to attack Katsuki, but he’s relentless on his attack. He unleashed one explosion every half a second to break through her defense.

Izuku, who was finished tying Minoru, looked at the fierce battle between offense and defense, noticed that Momo was currently too fixated on Katsuki’s assault that she didn’t notice him. So, he aimed his P-90 at her and shot a tranq bullet.

The bullet hit its mark on her neck, and she immediately collapsed. Katsuki wasn’t too happy about it.

“Hey, that’s my kill.”

Izuku just shrugged off Katsuki’s complain. “If there’s an opening, I’ll take it.”

Right before Katsuki can say more things, All Might announced that they’re the winner. And they were to join the rest on the control center while the bots would be called to tend the villain team.

Izuku informed All Might that there’s no need to do that. Since the drug will wear off in a minute. True to his word, Momo and Minoru both woke up before Izuku exited the building. The two were told that they’ve lost the exercise and required to exit the building.

After everyone has arrived on the control center, All Might asked the class who’s the MVP.

Class 1-A can’t decide on who’s the MVP between Katsuki and Izuku, since when it was Katsuki who planned everything, Izuku also executed the plan really well. And their battle was performed quickly and efficiently. Especially Izuku, the way he fought looks professional.

Too professional” All Might thought. And since in reality he was on the same page as the class he’s teaching, he decided to give the MVP title to the hero team in general instead to one person only.

The rest of the teams did their exercise like how most normal teenagers do; some has teamwork, some outright accidentally sabotaged each other. Izuku congratulated Pony and Ochako on their victory against the hero team.
It wasn’t really that difficult, Yuuga and Mina weren’t used to be on the offensive and watching each other in case of a friendly fire happening again.
After everyone had finished their exercise, All Might gathered the class outside of the control building.

“ALRIGHT, CLASS. THAT’S ALL FOR TODAY. BUT, BEFORE I LEAVE, THERE IS ONE MORE THING A HERO MUST KNOW. A HEROIC EXIT!~” All Might said as he ran away.

Class 1-A can only watch their teacher’s dust trail silently. Then unexpectedly, Izuku snorted.

“He’s probably going to finish his work for the day as fast as possible.” Izuku commented just before he headed to the changing room.

“You’re the one to talk.” Pony said nonchalantly.

The class walked towards the changing room silently. And the girls went into their separate room. Before the boys entered theirs, though. Izuku crouched and put his hands on Minoru’s shoulders.

“I just want to make this clear. If you keep a lid on your perverseness, I won’t be as watchful as I am to you. Look at Kaminari there, I’m not as harsh to him compared to you, even though I know he read some secret codes.” Izuku ominously said to Minoru.

“Also, if you’re not serious about being a hero, I think you should quit before you get killed or take someone else’s life.” Izuku added before he went into the changing room.

Chapter 11: Chapter 11

Notes:

Sorry for the long delay. This is what happens when your writing style is "Let's see what'll happen after I set the rules of this world"

I had a plan for this fic, but that went out of the window after the entrance exam.
Also, I won't change Platinum's name. it's a really minor thing and I'm too lazy to do it

Chapter Text

“Ugh… I hate the press.” Izuku grumbled as he saw the crowd near UA main gate.

He could hear them shouting all the way from where they stood, approximately 100 meters away from the main gate. He couldn’t hear what they were saying that clearly, but from what he can hear, it was apparent that they were harassing the students for information about All Might’s sudden shift to teaching UA.

“I guess we have to go through them, then,” Pony said, “Yeah, after seeing that, I can see why you hate them, Izu.”

“I just hope that they won’t make me into a news material.” Izuku said as he clapped the pouch that was put above his pistol holster.

Pony nodded in agreement and didn’t talk about it as they were getting closer to the wall of reporters trying to get any information from students. Most of the ones that were spared were Gen-ed students. The rest of them, not so much.

Suddenly, a reporter thrusted their mic to Izuku’s face and asked him the same question they’ve been asking to every student passing the gate.

“How do you feel about All Might teaching you?” they asked.

“No comment.” Izuku said as he pushed the mic away.

“Also… it’d be bad… if someone saw this as an opportunity to flame the rest of you.” Pony added, her voice was slightly louder than needed as she said it. Her eyes weren’t fully focused on the vulture in front of her, but she’s more focused on someone else who’s not participating in the blockade. Said reporter was furiously writing after they heard Pony.

The reporter in front of them immediately scurried away. Thankfully, no one else approached them as they walked pass the school gate. Passing Aizawa who was just arrived at the gate.

“I hate those vultures…” Aizawa said as he entered the classroom.

“I’ve watched your heroic class video yesterday. And I have some things to say; Bakugou, Midoriya, you two has a better cooperation than I expected. Mineta, be more cooperative with your teammate. That was a team exercise and Yaoyorozu’s work only count as half of the total team effort. Kaminari, work on figuring out how to do low powered attacks. You can’t be a sitting duck in the middle of a fight. The rest of you, I honestly expected this. Work on your overall performance more.”

“Yes, Aizawa-sensei.” The class said as one. With some being less enthusiastic compared to others.

“Now that’s out of the way, there’s something that’ll affect your future.” Aizawa paused for dramatic effect. From the reaction of the students, it worked. “You need to choose a class representative.”

“That’s a regular class activity.” The entire class thought in relief. Then, the class was filled with shouts of someone wanting to be the class rep.

“Everyone, please calm down!” Tenya exclaimed, “class representative position is not something you just take on a whim. It requires great responsibility and trust from others, so I say we do a vote!”

“You’re the one who raised your hand the highest.” Everyone commented. Some said it out loud, while others kept silent.

“Wouldn’t everyone just vote for themselves, though?” Tsuyu asked

“Then, the one with the most multiple votes will be chosen as the class rep. What do you think, sensei?” Tenya ignored the comments and instead answered Tsuyu’s question and asking Aizawa’s opinion.

“Do what you want as long as it’s not a battle royale, I’m going to get some sleep.” Aizawa said as he zipped up his bright yellow sleeping bag.

“I want to say something,” Izuku said as he raised his right hand, “I’m abstaining.”

That surprised some of his classmates who saw his battle trial closely, and especially for Ochako, his action in the entrance exam. But there were 2 people who knew exactly what his reason was. Those two being his girlfriend and his explosive friend.

Pony then explained briefly that the most exhausting part of hero work, in Izuku’s opinion, is the paperwork. Which considering how the difference between normal heroic and a double organization PMC + HA’s paperwork consists of. Mainly the high explosives, military-grade armory, and more “killed villain” paperwork which normal hero agencies don’t have, the amounts added up.

While yes, interns do fill paperwork to experience the less exhausting version of the real thing, Izuku is not an intern. And no other people in the classroom knew it.

They nodded in understanding and began the voting. With Izuku out of the poll, Momo Yaoyorozu was chosen as the class rep.

Aizawa woke up at the same time as the polling ended. Coincidentally, it was almost the time for his homeroom time to end. So, the assumption that he never slept in the first place was less credible.

After he acknowledged the poll result, he exited the classroom as the loudest land-dwelling hero in Japan opened the door.

After the first few morning classes, lunch time has arrived. And class 1-A along with other students were eating their lunch at the cafeteria while having a chat with their friends.

Well, most of them are. One of them is a bit busy rereading the message from the R&D department head.

“What’s wrong, Izu?” Pony asked as she saw Izuku massaging his nose bridge.

“I feel like my lifespan has been shortened by 10 years, and it’s not from my smoking habit,” Izuku said, “They ‘accidentally’ made a cold fusion reactor. I doubt they did it accidentally since they got access to quirk theory articles.”

“Well, at least they didn’t accidentally make a super graviton cannon.” Pony commented.

Izuku stared blankly at Pony. After he took a sip of his tea, he told her that he expects they’d do just that if they got a close look at a gravity quirk.

“Their interest in quirks is as great if not greater than me.” Izuku explained briefly.

After a while, Izuku saw Ochako Uraraka and Tenya Iida

“Can we sit here, Midoriya, Pony?” Ochako asked.

Izuku put his phone away and answered with a “sure” after Pony said yes.

The two then sat down with Tenya sat on Izuku’s right and Ochako sat on Pony’s right.

The table then descent into a comfortable silence for a while. Then, after her meal was half eaten, Ochako commented on the class rep election that morning. Especially on how if Izuku hadn’t abstaining, she’d choose him over Momo. And Tenya said the same. Then, Ochako commented that Iida’s looks are fitting for a class rep, despite how she chose Momo.

Then suddenly, alarm blared throughout the school. Right after it warned about security breach level III, the cafeteria fell into chaos, resulting in several unlucky students being pushed to the wall, or worse, getting trampled.

Izuku was one of the luckier people who only got pushed to the wall. Specifically, the glass wall facing towards the main gate.

He saw what caused the alarm to activate; a horde of reporters getting into the school through a hole in the locked gate.

“It’s just the press!” Izuku yelled. Unfortunately, no one except those who were close enough to him can hear him since they’re too busy panicking.

He’d need to get their attention, but his usual way – blank shot – was too dangerous to use in a crowded closed area, he instead turned to his friends and girlfriend.

“Uraraka, float Iida. Pony, guide him towards the door using your horns. Iida, get their attention and tell them it’s just the press.” Izuku said as he entered what people call it his “strategist mode”.

After they executed the plan, the cafeteria was calmed down. Enough for the teachers to tell the students to get to the evacuation zone in an orderly fashion.

After school was over, the teachers were gathered on the meeting room.

“As you all know, reporters breached our school by decaying the gate using an unknown quirk.” Nezdu started. He then opened the picture of said decayed gate.

“But shortly after, the new security system detected something else.” Nezu switched to another picture along with a video. “As you can see from this data, a spacetime anomaly got detected 10 seconds after the mob of reporters entered the school ground.”

He paused for a while to make sure everyone, including Kazimiera – who was seemed to be as tired as Aizawa – understand the message.

“Someone used it as a distraction so they can enter the building through a portal.” Kazimiera deduced.

“Correct. And, if you may, All Might?” Nezu said as he sat back down on his seat.

“Right, when I returned to my desk after we’ve evacuated the students, I noticed that my schedule is missing. Specifically, the one for the day after tomorrow. That day 1-A will have their heroic class on the USJ.” All Might, in his depowered form, explained.

“Should we cancel the trip, Principal?” Thirteen asked.

Nedzu shook his head. “No, continue as usual. But have one or two extra teachers along for safety precaution.”

Nedzu’s decision made the rest of the faculty question him. In which he answered with the fact that it’d be a good learning experience depending on how experienced the villain would be. Besides, they have two All Mights with them.

And the board wouldn’t let them cancel their appointment for the USJ anyway.

“Are you willing to help, Sirius?” Nedzu asked the ‘Second All Might’.

“Eh, sure. I don’t really like being a hero, but I hate villains harming my students more. I’ll help.” The white-haired man said as he combed some stray bangs away from his face.

“And Aizawa, I know heroics class is your usual resting time. But can you assist Sirius and All Might on USJ?”

“Alright, but I want a day leave after that.” Aizawa said.

“Granted. Ah, one more thing before we end this meeting. Kazimiera, inform TF141 that I’ll allow Izuku Midoriya to bring his full military gear for that day.” Nedzu told the horse girl.

“Done.” She immediately said as she tapped some things on her phone.

That part about full military gear made some staffs stare at Nedzu. Knowing the silent question, Kazimiera explained that Izuku’s costume is a lighter version of his gear, and the one that got approved by UA.

After the meeting ended, one question still lingers in everyone’s mind; who’s the one brave enough to sneak into UA and plan to attack All Might on an off-campus site?

Chapter Text

“Today’s heroic lesson; rescue, is going to be held at an off-campus site. Besides me an All Might, there will be two other teachers that will join us.” Eraserhead explained, while also holding a card that has “Rescue” printed on it.

After he finished his explanation, Aizawa allowed the students to enter the bus.

Just before anyone could enter it, Tenya stopped them and ordered the rest of the class to enter in orderly fashion. Izuku, who already checked the bus first to put his weapon case on the back of the bus, told his classmate that he doesn’t need to do that.

“You don’t need to, Iida. It doesn’t have a normal seating layout.” Izuku said with a smile before he passed Tenya, immediately entering the bus and sitting on the middle of the bus.

The rest of the class followed Izuku and seated themselves on their chosen seats. Tenya looked a bit dejected as he entered the bus and saw with his own eyes that yes, the bus can’t be organized like the usual bus.

On the bus trip, the students each either went into their own mind or talk with their own group. Izuku was just glad he could wear something he usually wear in an exercise. Because the hero-standard is too… light in protection. He could understand the idea though, military equipment is too intimidating and not as appealing to the public.

And yes, while there are heroes with more intimidating costume, none of them are modern military themed. The HPSC seems to steer clear from the association, especially because of how quirk users were treated by the government more than a century ago.

As he thought about what actions should he do if their prediction is correct, Tsuyu asked him about his different costume and how it looks similar to a certain short 141 operator’s custom uniform.

“We have similar body type and taste, that’s all. And for why I’m wearing this, I will regularly wear this instead of my lighter costume in most situations.” Izuku explained.

Not entirely a lie, someone can still piece together the truth from the choice of words”. Izuku thought as Katsuki gave him a look that doubts Izuku’s acting skill.

After a while, and after Kaminari made fun of Katsuki’s personality by comparing it to a burning trash can, the bus arrived at the USJ. In front of the entrance, two teachers are already there, discussing about something.

“Welcome students, to the USJ.” Thirteen welcomed 1-A as the last of the students exited the bus.

“Universal Studios Japan?” Denki asked.

The white-haired teacher snorted in amusement as he answered Denki’s question. “No, it’s Unforeseen Simulation Joint. “

“This site is built to simulate all kinds of disasters in a safer way to train heroes and hero students in rescue.” Thirteen explained as they entered the dome-shaped building.

Somewhere at the front of the crowd, Ochako was fangirling at the sight of her two favorite space-themed hero. Though, she’s more focused on Thirteen.

“It seems that you have a fan, Thirteen-sensei, Sirius-sensei.” Izuku commented. “Make that two fans. Um, can you sign my notebook?” Izuku added.

“Sure,” Sirius took Izuku’s notebook and signed it with his pen, “I’m surprised kids this generation still knows me. Even though I’ve been way less active than 20 years ago.”

“I’m a big fan of heroes. Well, not as big as 2 years ago, but still a big fan.”

“I can tell.” Sirius said with a knowing look.

“Aw… I don’t have anything with me that can be signed.” Ochako said in dissapointment.

Not too far from Sirius, actually, just three meters away, Eraserhead was asking about All Might’s whereabouts to Thirteen after she signed Izuku’s notebook.

“He’s resting on the teacher’s lounge. He said he was held back by several villains on the way.” Thirteen said, showing three fingers for a subtle hint that the other teachers and Izuku noticed.

Eraserhead quickly checked his phone to see that yes, the villain activity today was abnormally high compared to the rest of the week.

“Shit, the prediction is probably correct.”

Shortly after, Eraser noticed Izuku was saying something in a foreign language into his earphone. Though, his own earpiece didn’t receive anything.

“Alright, everyone, before we begin, we have one thing to say… um, maybe two, or three…” Thirteen said to the class.

“There’s a lot.” Sirius interjected. “But we’ll try to condense it as much as we can. Before that, as you might heard from one of your friends, my name is Sirius, just Sirius. And my codename is White Dwarf, the same as my quirk. As Eraser has probably tell you, we’re doing a rescue exercise. But before that, we’ll talk about how easy it is to accidentally kill someone.” He explained.

“Right, for example, my quirk, Black Hole, is a great tool for rescuing people.” Thirteen continued.

“Like when you saved people from being trapped under debris!” Ochako said excitedly.

“Correct, but this quirk can kill people as easily.”

The two rescue specialist heroes paused to let the message sink in.

“This exercise isn’t just used to practice rescue, this also used as a control practice.” Thirteen continued.

Suddenly, the lights turned off for a moment as the door suddenly closed. A few moments later, a dark portal appeared in the middle of USJ’s central plaza.

Eijiro was the first one to point out the spacetime anomaly.

“Is it already started?” he asked.

“No, don’t move! this is a real villain attack.” Eraser answered. Shortly after, he checked his phone to see if he can contact U.A. He immediately saw the signal loss on the top of his phone screen.

“Villains? How? There’s no way they can get into a hero school.” Eijiro sputtered.

“That,” Izuku pointed at the purple and black coud, “seems to be a portal.”

“What about the trespasser sensors?” Momo asked.

“We do have them, but…” Thirteen answered.

“Midoriya, can you contact anyone?” he asked.

“No, all channels are giving static sound. I think all communication signals are blocked.” Izuku said. “Except visible light if you use fiber optic somewhere here. Or just wired communication in general.” He added.

“We do have wired connection that goes outside, but I think it’s currently offline because of the blackout earlier.” Thirteen stated.

“Are the villains going to attack the campus as well, or are they only going to attack here?” Shoto asked to no one in particular.

As the portal closed, Eraserhead ordered the class to return to the bus with White Dwarf and Thirteen’s assistance while he’s holding the villains off. Shortly after that, he jumped towards the villains, ignoring Sirius’ call.

“Eraser, wait… a second.” Sirius exclaimed. He sighed at the underground hero’s action. “It’s better for you to help the students escape instead...” He mumbled, watching Eraserhead with an unamused look. He then went back to the more important business: getting the students to safety. “You heard him. Go back to the bus. I’ll force the door open if I have to.”

“Eraserhead, Thirteen, and White Dwarf… from the schedule we got, All Might should be here, while White Dwarf shouldn’t.” Kurogiri observed.

“So, it is true, he’s getting weaker. Let’s kill some students while we wait. I wonder if he’ll appear if we do that.” Tomura said.

“Ah, it seems that the students are leaving.” Kurogiri said before he warped towards them.

As the class ran towards the door with Sirius leading them, Kurogiri suddenly appeared in front of them.

“Greetings, U.A. students and teachers, my name is Kurogiri.” The misty villain introduced himself.

As he continued to state why they’re invading the off-campus site, Thirteen began formulating a plan to evacuate the students, while Sirius was seriously considering cracking a bit of his palm and let the dust explode.

In the middle of all of that, Izuku approached Tenya and gave his earpiece to him.

“Iida, when you can get out, I want you to call the HQ and tell them about the attack here.” Izuku told Tenya.

Before he can refuse the request, Thirteen asked him to do the same, only this time he’s told to run all the way to UA proper.

“Brazenly discussing your plan in front of the enemy, how foolish. No matter, my job is to scatter you all.” Kurogiri said as he engulfed the entire class in his warp cloud.

Izuku, Momo, and Kyoka was dropped ungracefully on a rocky surface with only Izuku’s experience making him managed to land on his feet.

“Are you two alright?” Izuku asked the two. They seemed to land quite hard on their sides.

“Just a rough fall, nothing’s broken.” Kyoka winced.

“I’m fine, Midoriya-san.” Momo answered.

Izuku sighed in relief after hearing their answer. But then he tensed and reached for his P90.

“Be careful, there seems to be several villains here.” Izuku said.

As he’d said, several villains appeared from their hiding spot. Several of them preparing their quirk to attack, while some others are eyeing the three students.

“Surrender, or you’ll regret coming here.” Izuku warned.

“What are you going to do? Shoot blanks at us?” A cocky villain taunted.

“Let’s just kill them and finish this quickly. I want to see the anti All-Mig-.” Another villain said, but he couldn’t finish his sentence because a bullet went through his head.

“Be careful of what you say. D-list villains are usually off-limits. But when an innocent’s life is on the line, PM-HAs can make their own decision on what to do.” Izuku said, his voice was eerily calm, and his face showed he’s very serious.

Notes:

I was going to publish this before Terran 1's launch. But because I'm busy with writing a screenplay for my university assignment, This ends up published after Starship IFT-1

Still faster than New Glenn or Vulcan Centaur though.
