Chapter 2: About dreaming and waking

Summary:

So how's Sylvie feeling about this? She can't just go back to normal after the talk with Mobius..can she?

And what about this strange dream..what does it mean? And why is it happening at all?

Notes:

So that's the second chapter, which is a short one. The next one will be longer again :)

Thank you all for the Kudos!

I hope I do the mighty Yggdrasil justice with how I describe it..I do it with the best of my knowledge and belief.

Chapter Text

- It doesn't matter where you are

I'm gonna go that far -

The talk with Mobius stuck with her like chewing gum on a foot and she couldn't get rid of it.

"Hey, Sylvie, you wanted to tell me my shift schedule for the next week."

Kenny stood there and waved at her. She shook her head to clear her mind.

"Sorry, I..I'm going to look at it."

He had a worried expression on his face.

"Is everything alright Sylvie?"

She stood up from her desk and sipped on her coke.

"Everything's fine, Kenny, thanks. I just...didn't sleep well the last night."

She put on a smile and cursed herself at the same time.

Kenny still looked concerned but nodded: "Okay, just write a Mail or call me."

Then he took off and Sylvie let the mask drop again.

What the hell was wrong with her? She cursed this day and Mobius with his questions about green lights and past memories.

Wasn't her problem that he couldn't move on.

She was perfectly fine with her life, her work, her hobby, her friends, herself and above all without green lights, chaos and narcissistic gods.

She was happy.

Her life was just the way she wanted it to be.

She chose her life here in Oklahoma.

She chose it.

No.

He chose so that they could choose.

He chose so that she could choose.

He chose.

Sylvie watched the scene before her with wide eyes.

Yggdrasil.

The huge tree was standing, or more precisely, floating there, green and enlightened, his branches growing high up to the sky and deep down to the ground.

It was everywhere.

It was magnificent, breathtaking.

Her hands pressed to her chest, her heart beating like a hummingbird and she had to concentrate on breathing and not fainting away.

What was happening here?

Why?

Her mind was so caotic she couldn't form a solid thought. She just walked and walked, like a puppet, like sedated, like enchanted.

But she wasn't.

She was asleep and wide awake and clouded and aware all at the same time.

When she saw the center of the tree, she collapsed to the ground and her heart skipped a beat.

Loki.

She couldn't even see his whole body clearly sitting there, it was all a chaotic mess around him but at the same time it was strangely calm and peaceful.

He was intertwined in the branches, they seemed to grow through him, under him, above him, surrounding him.

They were everywhere.

All shining in a green and golden light.

She forced herself to stand up and something seemed to change.

The rays and branches began to move faster and messier, lighting up and down again, dancing at a more rapid pace now, around her, they came closer and closer..

And then he opened his eyes.

And their eyes met.

And everything around her stopped and the world faded away.
