Chapter Text
What is my story? It started all the way back when I didn't get my quirk
My All Might figure fell to the ground as I stared at the doctor... quirk-less... No, I can't be, I have to make mama and papa proud and become a hero, how can I do that when I don't have a quirk? Mama smiled and thanked the doctor before grabbing my arm and dragging me out, her grip was tight and rough as though she was mad at me. What did I do wrong? Being quirk-less wasn't my fault! Why would she be so mad at me?
"Come now, Izuku, we have another stop to make before we head home to papa." Mama stated stiffly as though she was trying to sound gentle.
I followed behind Mama silently, trying not to make her even angrier, though her grip was slowly becoming tighter and more unbearable. It took a few hours before we arrived wherever Mama was taking us, it looked scary, but Mama stopped the car and forced me out, another car had parked before we walked in and a shy, purple haired boy was forced out of the car, I was quickly forced into the building, the purple haired boy being forced to follow behind me as his papa walked off behind Mama to the store clerk. I turned to look at the boy, excitement filling my eyes.
"Hi! My name is Midoriya Izuku! What's yours?" If I could make a new friend, that just might make today better.
"Shinsou Hitoshi." Shinsou responded, he almost seemed to shrink in on himself.
I shined my bright 'everything will be ok' smile "It's great to meet you Shinsou! What's your quirk?" I questioned, tilting my head.
"It's called Brainwashing... it's a villainous quirk..." Shinsou mumbled looking down.
"No quirk is truly villainous!" I smiled excitedly Oh, how naive I was "Do you want to exchange numbers so that we can stay in contact?" I questioned, already grabbing out the phone that auntie Mitsuki gave me for my birthday.
"S-sure..." Shinsou mumbled, taking out his phone.
A few seconds after we exchanged numbers, my mother came over with a bag, grabbing my arm and dragging me out of the shop and into the car, driving off, leaving the Shinsous behind.
Years passed, Shinsou and I kept in contact, and Mo- Inko barely came home, and when she did, I had to hide in my room or else she'd begin throwing those sharp, painful, objects at me. I always wore long sleeves which made it easier for Kacchan to hurt me and get away with it, Inko was always mad when I got too hurt, she never took me to a hospital, no, I wasn't worth it, but the muzzle was always tighter and the glass always sharper, at least when that happened Kacchan would leave me alone. I couldn't shake the name 'Deku' no matter how hard I tried, Inko called me that and so did my bullies. I knew that my days in this house were numbered.
It was my tenth birthday when Inko grabbed me by my arm, forcing the muzzle on before dragging me out to the car.
"Get into the car, Deku, I'm done putting up with you. You are so useless." Inko snapped before shoving me into the car, driving off.
I was completely silent throughout the car ride, we went way past the parts of town that I knew, stopping just in front of an abandoned church.
"Get out." Inko ordered, stopping the car just long enough to let me get out before driving off, leaving me behind...
My story? Well, let's just say it's not much better.
I remember that day so vividly, it was the day that I got my quirk, the day friends left. I was out in my parent's yard running around with one of my friends when I touched his shoulder and I could use his quirk. Sounds fun, right? That's only on the surface, in actuality he saw it as me stealing his quirk, as did his father, they left quickly after that and I learned how friends aren't promised to anyone.
Neither were parents, apparently
My parents, busy as ever, were stuck with work, though on top of that, the butlers and maids stopped showing up, when I asked why, the gardener usually said something about how they got a new job opportunity. Years passed at that point, I still went to school, of course, and the minor bullying grew worse, they began calling me a villain, giving me hate-filled nicknames like 'copycat' which my parents grew to call me aswell.
I still remember those hours spent with me trying to clean the sharpie off of desk, hours spent in detention because apparently it's my fault that the other kids hated me, the world won't ever be fair, so the best you can do is try to cope and wait for the winds to change.
I was only 10 when my parents put me into their car, having their driver drive us to that one church that was abandoned years ago. When we got there, my father forced me out, not that it was hard because I had noticed some one's green hair and was worried about whoever it was. I took a few steps towards the church, but when I turned around I could only watch as the car was turned on and sped away. Fine, if they don't want me, I don't want them. I headed inside the church, noticing a boy around my hair, skinnier than what was normal, crouched close yo the ground. I approached him.
"Back off, this is my home..." The boy's voice shook in fear, or unshed tears, he clearly wasn't a threat.
"I won't hurt you. What's your name, greenie? I'm Neito." I questioned him, making sure to introduce myself as I stood behind him.
"Izuku... but my friend calls me 'Zuku or Zuzu." Izuku introduce himself and that's when I decided that I'd stay by his side.
Mei's story
I never was too polite, I was unsettling at best and my parents hated it. They never thought that I'd make much for myself and made me act politely so that maybe I'd have a chance to get myself a husband who made good money, not that any of that interested me at that point, I just wanted to be myself, but I was never allowed to be myself.
I found my love for engineering shortly after my 6th birthday, the day that I found out that my parents couldn't control how I acted at school, but the principal quickly brought that to my parents' attention and they forced me away from my passion, my craft. I had to bide my time, wait until they weren't working and go back to my craft.
I had heard of an abandoned church, it was a frightening place to many due to the amount of crows, ravens, and debris there was there, sounded like my type of place, so I did the reasonable thing of sneaking out in the middle of the night when my parents were asleep and started making my way there.
Shinsou's story
My fourth birthday was the worst, for a present I got a muzzle, but on the plus side I got a friend, Zuzu was the best, so nice, so kind. Safe to say we stayed in contact, helping each other out whenever we could, I made it my personal mission to keep him alive just as he did with me.
I remember the day I was dropped off at the orphanage for the first time, but every time after that just blended together, the only people who wanted me either wanted a manual laborer or wanted to 'fix' me, but no matter what I always ended up back in the orphanage.
Until I didn't, it was originally a shock when we went a different direction from the orphanage, but when we stopped outside of the abandoned church, it made sense, I'm too much of a 'hassle for them to take back, I stepped out of the car without a fight and watched as my last foster family drove off, thankfully they took my muzzle off first. I didn't know at that moment how lucky I was that this was the place they dropped me off at.
