Buck is interviewing for the role of lieutenant in the firehouse. He’s 99% sure he’ll get the title even if he bombed the interview with Bobby. He’s basically been doing everything a lieutenant would be doing for the last couple of years, this is just what’s going to make it official.
He’s still insanely nervous about it, he’s been practicing his answers to the questions he thinks Bobby would ask for weeks. Eddie has been helping him but he is 100% sure Buck will get the title no matter what his answers are; so he’s not taking their practices too seriously. Which is sweet in a way but is definitely stressing Buck out even more.
“Buck. It’s not like Bobby is going to be mean to you or not give you the title, you can chill out a bit man.” Said Eddie as he yawned and sat back against Buck’s couch.
He was only half right.

Buck's self-worth and self-efficacy issues are brought to light by the most important people in his life and Eddie is left to pick up the pieces...if Buck will let him.

" So what toppings will you choose for them?” Buck tilts his head.
“All of them!” Jee cheers.
“We don't have enough cookies for all those different flavours, Jee. You've only put one jumbo cookie aside for each of them,” Buck raises an eyebrow.
“All of them on each cookie. If I add all their favourites plus some of mine, it shows how much I love them,” explains Jee as she starts to add all the toppings to every single cookie, “Taste this one Unca Buck.”
It was here that Buck realises that he's maybe messed up…Buck and Jee are having some Uncle Buck baking time making and decorating Christmas cookies, only...five year olds don't exactly know the meaning of moderation or that sometimes less is more, especially with cookie toppings - and maybe that not all flavours mix well together. Meh, it's Christmas, it'll be fine...probably.
Luckily Buck has some palette cleansing techniques...
