Its been three months since the war came to an end, three months since Infinite disappeared off the face of the planet. Gadget has been keeping himself busy working with the restoration but things still felt off from the lack of resolution after everything that had happened. His work takes him to a small oceanside town that's in need of rebuilding, but things quickly take a drastic turn when the mountains start to break apart. And left in that destruction is the heavily damaged form of a once unstoppable Jackal, what do you do with one of the most detested villains in an organization that favors redemption? Gadget had a front row seat in learning the answer.
AKA the author thinks that there's not enough fics of these two and wants to throw their hat into the ring and explore some concepts between working :]

Wacky hijinks ensue as Gadget tries to navigate the struggles of rehabilitating a former war criminal, such getting crushed by mountains of paperwork and getting into fights with said former war criminal.
And on top of it all, they’re slowly catching feelings for this disaster of a man.

However, one day, signals of the Chaos Emeralds are spotted in Soleanna. Gadget and Zero join Sonic and Tails in their investigation there, and their findings grow ever more mysterious. A new antagonist appears, alongside others. Soleanna's history is revisisted, as old foes return and legends become real in front of their very eyes. They must all fight, alongside from familiar allies, to protect the dear city, and above all, to learn exactly why the country is experiencing this event.

This is not a story about heroes saving others. This is not a story about one's attempts to correct or heal someone. Instead, it's a story about the weight of the past's sins and the fear of an uncertain future.
A side-story to the main work "Sonic Underground (Only Better)" (for now, available only in Ukrainian), which takes place before the events of the main plot. It is also a heavy work in progress, since the original work I'm translating is also not finished. I wanted to give the opportunity for English speaking sonic fans to enjoy this writing journey with me.
