    Summary

Bilbo Baggins wondered what Gandalf was thinking. Fortunately, the one living under the delusion he was a regular hobbit was NOT him. Oh well, Bag End would sort him out. His house did NOT approve of vandalism, thank you very much. That rune carved into his door learned it personally. Besides, it served the wizard right for not heeding the rumors about Bilbo and the Old Forest.

    Summary

this is a series of unrelated stories about ideas i have for things that could be or i'd like to be about the relationship between hobbits and dwarves.
none of the stories are necessarily related to each other except for some headcanons you may see come up here and there again and again.
i'm not sure what i'm doing here, in all honesty, so if you see any missing tags or something, let me know. i'm mostly not gonna be touching on the one ring and other more complex lore, i apologize for that in advance.
i will not be expanding on any of the one shots, as they are one shots, but if you have specific questions about anything, let me know, i'd be so happy to talk to you about my headcanons!

    Summary

The reason they compare Hobbits to rabbits is because most of them are rabbits! With the exception of the Took family, which is made up of coyotes, all Hobbits are born with the ears and tail of an animal, and when they grow up they can transform into that animal. And obviously it was a big surprise that when Bilbo Baggins was born, he had the ears and tail of a wolf, at least they thought he was a wolf, and at the age of 6 Bilbo turned into a Warg for the first time. And that changed his life, he lived in the Shire, but he was shunned and feared, and little by little he died of loneliness. Until he saved Thorin from entering the Old Forest, and found out about the quest. Feeling alive again, he embarked on an adventure and found his companion in Thorin.

    Summary

Captured by orcs during the Fell Winter, Briar Baggins has spent years disguising herself as a simple hobbit lad named Bilbo. Frerin had been captured during the battle of Azanulbizar, not killed as his kin believed. Thrown together in the harshest of conditions, they had managed to become a family. So when the chance finally came to escape, they took it with both hands.

However, even though they are free, they are soon drawn into something much larger than just themselves. The impossible task of reclaiming Erebor.

Will the quest be successful or is it doomed from the start? They need a home, but possibly much more will be found along the way, family and maybe even love.

‘At the beginning of their quest, Dwalin had no idea what to make of their burglar. She was a small, sweet thing and while undeniably beautiful, Dwalin was uncertain how she was meant to be an asset to their company rather than a liability.’

Dwalin’s feelings for Bilba grow from protectiveness, to admiration, to love. Plus throw in some ‘Hair is sacred to dwarves’ because that’s always delicious.

So, I've been hoarding drabbles and oneshots from various fandoms for years and I decided to put some of these bad boys out there. Will mainly feature BAMFness and angst, few if any pairings but lots of friendship, and some crossovers. I might also put out some prompts, in case anyone's interested.

Please consider all of these ideas up for adoption (with notice, please).

    Summary

Kara is at the end of her nursing shift when a violent man is brought in with an arrow wound. When he spits blood on her, Kara is transported elsewhere. Soon she's doing emergency wound care on book characters and trying not to lose it. She can't watch people suffer even if it isn't real, but Aragorn is very suspicious of a woman who tells no clear story and smells like an orc.

“Stranger things have happened than you or I have years to tell of it," Gandalf said. "Why does she unsettle you? Surely you do not feel threatened. I am tolerably certain you could defeat her if it came to violence.”
Aragorn scoffed at his gentle humor. “I’m glad to amuse you. There are more dangers than warriors and swords. Need I tell a wizard that?"
“I can assure you she is not evil and has not a whisper of magic.”
“Yet a beautiful woman appears directly in our path, leagues from civilization, and immediately gains the hobbits’ trust. No wizardry, you say?”
Kara was not *unhappy* at being called a beautiful woman (although his standards for human women, as opposed to elves, were probably low), but she was unhappy to be stuck eavesdropping. She’d seen this scene too many times in movies. They would definitely see her.

      A conversation with Gandalf ch4 💛
“I’ve never had an apprentice, everyone knows this.” But he seemed to be thinking. She let him.

“That is a fair proposal, I believe I can persuade Lord Elrond and the others. Aragorn will not like it.”

Kara clapped her hands. “You’re the best.”

He harrumphed. “You are acquainted with scarcely ten people in this world; your commendation leaves something to be desired. But…yes, I am.”

Kara laughed. “In our world, we say, Flattery will get you everywhere.”

“I suspect your world is as unprincipled and tiresome as you.”

Kara grinned. “But you’ll take me anyway.” She kissed his cheek as she went to pack.

    Summary

Bilbo Baggins came home one sunny spring day exhausted, half starved and pregnant. His heart was broken, his name cursed by the dwarves he had saved and his house was on auction by the worst relative you could imagine. It was, understandably, a terrible day.
Once it comes out that Bilbo is *expecting,* however, even the most prim and proper hobbits are scandalised at the poor treatment he received by the conspicuously absent father (and, by extension, all his kind). The Shire rallies around their poor, ill-treated and half-starved kinsman, and the climate of dwarvish relations takes a decidedly chilly turn.

"And that’s what they were, really – gifts. Gifts for those who had seen enough, for those who had acted the unwilling witness to true evil, and who had survived.
    Oh, how wrong they were."

Or: Middle Earth's water supply is infected by the One Ring remaining in it for so long, giving everyone supernatural abilities. What follows is disaster at the One Ring's removal, a dragon living under the Lonely Mountain, dwarves who really don't know as much as they think, and one hobbit's very interesting, and very dangerous, ability.

This is my first ever fic! Updates whenever I've finished writing them. Tags to be added, and the rating is unlikely to change.

“It sounds to me, Thorin son of Thrain, like you need a burglar.” Gandalf suppressed the grin that threatened to overtake his face.

“I suppose you have one you’d like to recommend.” The King raised a brow.

“There is one who has done a great many tasks for me over the years.” Gandalf thought of how best to introduce her. “A Hobbit. One with much experience with these kinds of tasks.”

    The King hummed confirmation.

Now Gandalf just had to go find the blasted girl.

    Summary

Bilba "Bell" Baggins decides she's waited quite long enough to take her mother's advice and stories to venture west for an adventure of her own. She never could have imagined finding herself in Ered Luin and adopted by a trio of dwarrow in her wildest imaginations, let alone get dragged into the utter madness of a quest to reclaim lost homeland!

But not all is what it seems. Plagued by visions of things and places she can't possibly begin to understand, Bilba comes to realize there is far more at stake than meets the eye, and even greater forces at work than any of them can imagine. Destined for the Lonely Mountain, it becomes clear that Someone is intent on preventing the Line of Durin from falling, and she appears to be the messenger.

    Oh dear.

Written for seniorpotato on tumblr, who asked for a sort-of-Frozen!AU
Every Hobbit in the Shire has a Season. The children of Summer are known for their fires, the Springs for their skills at gardening and healing, and the Autumns for the winds that they can bend to their will.
Bilbo Baggins has a different Season, a cursed Season.
Bilbo Baggins is a child of Winter, blamed by many for the suffering of the Fell Winter of his infancy. Shunned and forced to restrain his powers with an amulet, Bilbo suddenly finds his skills needed to assist a horde of suicidal Dwarves on their Quest to kill a dragon.
Fire cannot kill a dragon, but perhaps Ice can... if it can be controlled.

I'll let this really nice review from StupidFatPenguin to describe this series:

This is so nice! A bit refreshing, yet nostalgic as the writing style reminds a slight bit of Tolkien's. It's like I'm reading a modified version of The Hobbit (with some film elements)... feeling all the rushing excitement all over again. It's sometimes hard to remember that it's all just a fanfiction. Well done!

I'm very excited about this now, because I haven't read anything like it. I love it so!

“I don’t regret my actions Master Dwalin, don’t misunderstand. I’d kill an army of orc for any one of the Company,” the curly head shook from side to side tiredly as large, exhausted eyes turned up to him once more, “But this is my penance. ‘Blood let for blood spilt’. It’s a reminder, and an apology. It could have just as easily been me that fell afoul a blade this evening and it won’t do to forget that anytime soon.”

Not about cutting. Not even close. I wouldn't associate this with the coping mechanism to be completely honest, being aware of the psychology behind the act. This is neither an aggrandizement, sanction, or ridicule of it. But, seeing a possible parallel, I thought it best to forewarn you just in case there were any issues.
