Over time the higher ups of heaven have noticed that Adam’s behavior as an angel has proven to be….well let’s be honest it’s he’s Adam what did you expect. So they tasked Sera to give Adam a chance to reassess himself as a model for heaven by being a human’s guardian angel till said human would perish from age. Adam “begrudgingly” agreed to do so and was booted from Heaven to oversee a human.
Meanwhile on Earth, in the small town of Gravesfield, a young Luz Noceda sleeps peacefully in bed, unaware that her life was about to change forever. (Btw she will get aspects of Adam’s personality as time goes on, also the swearing.)

Adam Noda is a down-on-his-luck, teenager. The only thing that he wants in life is to make it home at the end of the day and fall asleep. He doesn’t see much in his future. Things have been bad ever since he came out as gay and his friends turned on him.
Who does he blame for this? Himself, mostly, but he also blames town-hero and bestselling author Luz Noceda, a Gravesfield alum who inspired him to come out through her writing. Lot of good that did him.
So when the Luz Noceda sees him being bullied and steps in to interfere, he’s already on edge. It doesn’t help when she pulls him aside and hands him a card with an invitation to a Hexside School of Magic and Demonics. Is this a marketing tactic for one of her new books, or is she just crazy? Either way, he’s not going to her weird, magic school.
However, he begins to think she might be onto something when he sees the purple snake tattoo on her arm begin to move…

In most worlds, Luz Noceda is guided to the Boiling Isles, through one way or another. She finds a family in a realm beyond her own, discovers ancient magic, and overthrows a tyrant and saves the realm. Her story has some rough moments, yes. But usually she overcomes them and makes everything better.
In fact, almost every world has Luz being victorious, happy, and saving everyone.
But not this one.
In this world there are no Boiling Isles. Just an unforgiving facility for all the freaks and unusual. Those who have unnatural abilities.
In this world, there is no saving everyone.
And those who are saved might not be sane.
Or...
Luz kills her mom accidently with powers and gets kidnapped and sent to a facility!!! She gets trauma, trauma, and, what's that? That's right! More trauma!
