Jack opens his mouth, and Ben sees the gears in his head turning as he tries and fails to come up with a reason to deny him. It’s alright, Ben reckons; he doesn’t keep Jack around for his brains.
Sweet young Edward, though, all fire and fury up on deck and sweet as pie in Ben’s bed, just hands him the stack of cards. “Sure. You know how to play?”
