It was a secret to anyone outside the Shire that Bungo Baggins wasn't called Bungo when he was born and isn't even a Hobbit. He was actually Frerin who, after the war in Moria, ran away from the others because he couldn't take any more war and suffering, as well as the weight of being Prince of the Dwarves. He was wounded and met Belladonna in the forest and told her his story. Belladonna invited him to come to the Shire and recover. But during his healing at the House of the Baggins Family, Frerin found peace and acceptance, and when the Baggins asked to adopt him, Frerin accepted and became Bungo Baggins. And Frerin fell in love with Belladona and when he proposed, he said that Dwarves only love once and so she was his One. And Belladona accepted his love, and loved him back with all her heart. And they married, he built the house as a courting gift for her. And they had a daughter, Bluebonnet, called Blue because of her blue eyes from the Durin Lineage. And that makes the mission completely different, especially for Fili who discovers that Bluebonnet is her One.

There was a deep sigh, or rather the sensation of one. It wasn’t really clear where or how it started, but there must have been one for everyone present to understand the reality of something doing the sighing. And when that fourth not-voice spoke, it was entirely directed at the figure dripping blood onto the proverbial (and very literal) carpet.

The figure scowled. Swiping a hand over his face to remove the worst of the blood, he straightened up.

Sent back to do his adventures all over again, just this time with more scars and new knowledge, and also make sure the plants of the world don't die. In exchange he has the chance to save his friends and change the tragic path of history. In being sent back his life force was bound to Thorin's in such a way that if he dies that Bilbo will go on living as he would have, but that Bilbo can live out the long years of a dwarf instead of a hobbit as long as Thorin is alive. So yeah, now Bilbo has to save the world, his family, and also a bunch of trees. And this time killing the dragon is definitely his problem.

On top of that Bilbo decides to travel with the bunch of rowdy dwarves, taking her with him. Will she ever get her memory back?

This is the second installment of this series, I didn’t plan on doing the whole trilogy when I first wrote Something is Happening, but in the words of my boyfriend: “fuck it, we ball”, so here we are. I hope if you’re reading this, you enjoyed the first part. Same goes for this story, it’ll most likely be a bit ooc and not canonical, but I hope it'll be fun to read! This installment takes inspiration from Subhanallah from Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani, which has become one of my favorite comfort movies; I just love Bunny’s and Naina’s story. Tensions rise between Thorin and the Elvenking, while El’úvian herself struggles with the weight of being among her kin yet not truly belonging, her sharp exchanges with Thranduil leaving their bond strained.
Through wit and daring, the Company escapes in barrels down the Forest River, finally reaching the Lake-town of Esgaroth. Though weary, they are welcomed by the townsfolk, who place their hopes in Thorin’s quest to reclaim Erebor. It is here that El’úvian’s presence grows more vital, as she tends to the wounded and lends quiet strength to the weary travelers. But the shadow of the dragon still looms, and the journey to the Lonely Mountain is far from over.
