Summary
Mortals are so fragile.
Lumine knows this; she's known it since the very beginning of her journey. And yet, like a fool, she's let herself in too close. She's almost lost him once before, in a nightmarish frigid wasteland; but now that they've lost Teppei, Lumine wonders if she's playing with fire. The thought of losing Kaeya haunts her, but the thought of him leaving her burns even worse.
But what right does she have to feel that way? It wasn't her life that was in danger.
She has to tell him to leave. She has to let him go. There's nothing but heartache waiting for them, if this continues as it has been.
And yet Kaeya's promise weighs on her mind, and she fears the kind of Teyvat she might experience without him.Series

Summary
Kaeya had been with Lumine through everything. From the rolling hills of Mondstadt, to the tall mountains of Liyue,, to the electric islands of Inazuma, and now the expansive rainforests and deserts of Sumeru. They have met countless companions, who they all consider friends.
The one that stuck out the most for both of them, however, was Zhongli. Kaeya had always found the ex-Archon as something to behold; a world-weary individual that drew him in.
So when Lumine suggested to include him in their relationship, Kaeya accepted for a list of reasons.
But doubt is a bitch, and Kaeya's always been worried that he was holding Lumine back. With fears twisting in his head and tinting his world view, he can't help but wonder...

Summary
Zhongli knew from the start that Neuvillette would hate him. He knew from the moment he'd locked eyes with the Sovereign the day that Lumine introduced them. But Zhongli still longed for the softness of his gaze and his gently spoken words, back when the Sovereign did not know him. He tried to accept the vitriol—he deserved it, after all—but when Lumine's question burned a hole into his mind, he couldn't help but wonder if things could be different between them.
Perhaps that's what brought him to such a foolish wager.Neuvillette had made the choice to join Lumine on her journey, to try a relationship that he wasn't sure about. He had been clear that he would only be civil to Zhongli, nothing more, instead devoting his attention to the Traveler and her playful envoy that stole his heart. But he still recalled the days before he knew who Zhongli was, back when he had not regained his Authority and recognized the Archon's power. He tried to erase those thoughts, to push the man away; it was better for both of them, after all.
So when Zhongli presented him with the wager, he took it out of hopes that it would remove any notion of a future together from the Archon's mind.Such was not the case.

Summary
Was it a curse, or a chance of circumstance? Lumine didn't know, but at this point she shouldn't be surprised.
It was like every day, she stumbled across some giant problem that needed to be fixed. She's grown used to it; sometimes it reminds her of what she needs to do.
Other times, it just leaves her dejected.
This time, it's almost worse. Because this time, Kaeya and Zhongli are in their nations working, and while she's joined Neuvillette's case to assist, she can't help but wonder if she's making it worse—especially since she's now the target of a famed assassin that has never once been caught, and has never once missed a mark.
She won't stop until she figures out who's trying to kill her; not when it involves the case that's kept Neuvillette away for so long.

Summary
Sometimes, commissioners are idiots. They give out a job to the Adventurer's Guild, wanna cut back on costs, and so they don't fill out the "potential obstacles" section on the request form.
Other times, unbeknownst to the commissioner, the commission itself is laying on a sleeping Avidya Leopard and an Adventurer is about to accidentally wake it the fuck up.
Lumine found this out the hard way, when she and Zhongli separate off to handle two every-day commissions.
When they find themselves out of their depth and without an easy escape of a ruin, it's up to Lumine's in-depth adventuring knowledge to get them the hell out of there; but this ruin isn't like others she's crossed before on Teyvat, and Zhongli seems to be suffering from a strange buzzing that permeates these stone walls.
In that plant-choked domain, Lumine must face the realization that people want to protect her, and Zhongli must face the realization that even a God is not impervious to disaster.Series
