“Cloud,” Leon huffed, turning to face the other. “There’s no going back. I knew this when I agreed to help the other Aerith, Aeris. You knew this when you decided to ignore both of their requests and you joined me anyway. This world- this reality - needs help."
Kindom Hearts' Leon and Cloud come to the world of Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth at the behest of the spirit of Aeris from Final Fnatasy VII OG to make important changes to the timeline. Their primary objective? Save Aerith Gainsborogh. But along the way they might as well save some others while they're helping to fix things, right?

And to top it all off, she's drawn the ire and intrigue of Sephiroth, who seeks new purpose for the realm lovingly dubbed the Debug Room and even bullies her as a de facto editor in this new story of Gaia.
But the Rulers of the Outer Realms are always watching. Order must be preserved, lest the ancient wars of cataclysm resurge.

Vincent shifted, so slightly that it was nearly unnoticeable, but it was as if a magnet aligned him to her. Tifa's throat went dry and she had the strangest urge to see if his cheeks felt as soft as they looked.
He understood her. He could see the way she pushed herself to be more, to be better, to be stronger. He could see how deeply she cared for everyone and how badly Tifa abhorred the idea of being a hindrance or having others fuss over her. If Vincent saw himself in Tifa, he likely imagined her trailing down a path of disappointment and sorrow. Perhaps, that was true. Tifa most certainly felt like it. She was suffocating underneath the guilt she felt for surviving, when so many others didn’t.

Kayline felt the memory as if it were only yesterday, as if it weren't back when they were still children. He wore a suit and she a dress, both clothes far nicer than anything they'd ever been allowed before, and they stood together under green grass and a blue sky. One of few moments not under watch by the scientists.
Sephiroth held a flower in his hand, with dark blue petals that were as beautiful as the jewels on his coat. He had it outstretched to her, his smile nervous as he said, “It’s a blue rose. None of the blue ones are natural, and I know you said you always wanted to see a real flower. But it was raised in a lab, like me. I thought, maybe you'd like it…” He trailed off, looking at the ground embarrassed. Yet Kayline's face lit up, and she ignored the flower to instead run into his arms.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” She smiled brightly as she wrapped her arms around his neck and jumped excitedly. “I'll love it forever!” Her cheer was contagious as the boy began to smile too and wrapped his arms around her, neither wanting to let go.
Years ago, Kayline had to remind herself sadly. It was all years ago, before they let go and fell far out of each other's reach.
