It's a small room, but it's home. Huey, Dewey, and Louie have been confined to this space for their entire lives. They haven't lived anywhere else, and they don't know of anything else. But for Donald, it's been his prison for the last decade. Kidnapped off the street while taking his son's eggs out on a walk. And now that it's his children's tenth birthday, he's getting desperate. He wants so badly for them to have a normal life, but everything he's tried so far has been in vain.
He has a plan forming, though. And it's risky, but if he waits much longer, it'll be too late.

Stiffening at feeling herself being watched she turned to see the earth woman was awake and just watching her with pure blue glowing eyes.
At first, words failed her, what could Penumbra even say? Eventually, she decided to be sincere and hoped that the woman wasn’t so rightfully distrusting of her people that she’d believe her “hey Beauty Blue Eyes"
Penumbra had no idea that just starting that sentence with addressing Della with that nickname would completely turn her world upside down, showing her that there was much more out there than the moon and the earth.

There was a reason why there was not an earth colony on the moon. Della could have been the patient zero of this hypothetical, but nobody had wanted that for her and now nobody seemed to want her at all. After the initial crash she had been in pure adrenaline survival mode to propel herself to live long enough to find herself to survey the crash site and flag down some help. Then to rebuild the rocket of Selene to go home herself. Survival wasn't guaranteed but Della would try and persuade the odds for ten whole years.
