Or at least, that’s what Xiao believed since he was a child. Following the events in the tavern, Diluc attempts to get Venti to open up due to his newfound concerns. Not to mention Venti's other friends begin to realise something is up with the bard as well.However, if there's anything the great Lord Barbatos hates to do, it is passing his burdens onto others.

There was a new bard in Mondstadt. Dahlia heard them play a few times. The sound of their lyre was mesmerising. They were really talented, which gave them a crowd. It wasn’t a lot, but it would be a normal amount for a new bard in the city. Dahlia normally wouldn’t bat an eye on them more than usual. The thing is, he already got complaints about their songs and he couldn’t help but have his own curiosity towards the young man.

That had been when he had his first dangerous thought.
Would the Heavenly Principles notice if he died?
They had lost faith in him, and somewhere along the way, he had lost faith in himself too.
Yet, as the wind wrapped around him in a final embrace, Venti found that he felt no regret. His nation had lost faith in their god, and he had lost faith in himself. Perhaps this was the only true way to honor them, to free them from a god who had forgotten what it meant to be free.
He stepped forward, off the cliff, feeling the wind rush past him as he fell. His body plummeted through the air, and in those final moments, he thought of Mondstadt—the city he had loved, the people he had cherished. He thought of his friends, those who had come and gone, and the Nameless Bard who had taught him what it meant to sing with joy, to live with a heart full of freedom. Would anyone notice that their god died today?

“We’re closed, bard.”
“Ragnvindr…” The green silhouette’s cheery voice held a sliver of tremble.
Diluc looked up from the bar as Lord Barbatos stumbled across the floor. On his body lingered the smell of Windrise’s fields, but no scent of alcohol. Diluc’s eyes narrowed in confusion. The Archon dragged his trembling body to the bar as Diluc set down the glass.
