Summary
Twelve years ago, after fierce storms, a young girl with blue hair was found on the beach in Piltover, with no memory of her previous life, taken in by a convent of nuns. Now, Jinx, as she was named, lives wondering who she once was and why the ocean saved her and cursed her by turning her into a mermaid, a secret known only to her mentor, Father Silco.
However, there are dangers that threaten mermaids, which is why when the most improbable opportunity arises, Father Silco entrusts the pirate Ekko to take Jinx far away, to the kingdom of Zaun. And both embark on a journey that could change their lives, after all, Ekko is a man haunted by the pain of having lost the love of his life years ago.

Powder never thought that this day would come. The end of her relationship with the love of her life. Ekko got accepted into his dream college to become a nurse and moved across the country to achieve that. Days, months, years went by and not a single call, text, or even a visit from him. The problem was that Powder's heart couldn't/can't let go of him. She decides to make the drastic decision and move to the same city he lives in, in hopes of finding the man her heart yearns for. She has no plans of letting him leave her this time.
For years Ekko always felt that something was wrong. That something was missing. The simple answer to that… The love of his life. His north star. The very thing that gave his life direction. He could text her, call her, even go and visit her. The problem is that if he does any of that, he knows he will uplift everything he's spent years in college for and the life he made for himself, just to be with her. To him, leaving her behind was the worst mistake he has ever made. Nothing felt the same without her. What he doesn't know, is that they have been closer to each other then they ever been in years, for months.

Summary
Silco's... not a good parent. As much as he loves his daughter, he has a few flaws when it comes to her. But he can explain it all away, from slipping drugs into her tea to keep her his perfect little girl to keeping her safe away from the world. He can even explain giving her to the Enforcers in exchange for Zaun - after all, they've given their word that Jinx is not to be harmed.
Ekko, meanwhile, went to the bridge upon overhearing the Enforcers' plans to capture Jinx on their radios - she's too far gone, and as the last person who knew Powder as well as the leader of the Firelights, it's his job to put her down.
But after rescuing her instead upon realizing Jinx is still at least a little Powder, when he learns that 'Jinx' the persona isn't real but instead a defense mechanism, upon learning about the drugs in her system and the pain and fear inflicted on her, he insists she can be saved.
And thus begins the rest of her life.
(Featuring childhood-friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers Timebomb, a complicated relationship between Jinx and Silco, genius Firelight bioengineer Jinx/Powder, and Jinx proving she's stronger and better than anyone gives her credit for.)

Goodbye.’ He later learned a new recruit named Milo (the irony isn't lost) had cornered her and told her she was a ticking time bomb. She'd believed it and vanished into thin air, and despite Ekko’s desperate attempts to find her, she's very good at not being found when she doesn't want to be.
So he's tracked every lead, every rumor, every single hint, and that's how he's here.
In the deepest fighting pits in Zaun.
(Basically, Jinx ran away from the Firelights and got herself in a bad situation, and Ekko winds up forced to make them mates with a bite to save her. This leads to chaos as they develop a psychic bond, Ekko has to save her life again, and they're both disaster scientists fighting biology.)

Meanwhile, Ekko fights under Silco as he slowly loses his grip on reality. With the two thinking the other is dead, they navigate the world alone, unknowingly closer than ever.
