Kaeya sets his hands on the counter's edge, listening to the vibrations of his phone on the granite. The rushing water does little to dull his flood of thoughts. Couldn't he just have this? One party? One night where he could relax and socialize and just be? Why couldn't Albedo just listen to the words that came out of his mouth? Mark a date on a calendar, set a reminder, something, anything, to avoid the situation that is this one right here: Kaeya alone in a barely clean bathroom, holding back tears as his heart tries to decide between being angry at Albedo for not showing up or himself for not going home.
He finally looks over, sees the familar sight of a frustrated Albedo awaiting on the other end of an incoming Facetime request. Kaeya stares at the screen for a moment before looking at his reflection in the mirror. He looks like he's already gotten drunk and he's barely downed three glasses. Loving Albedo is like a hangover.
