8 years after the defeat of Team Rainbow Rocket, Selene, the undefeated champion of Alola, is invited to the foreign Remnal region to help run their first-ever tournament in almost a millennium. Naturally, her girlfriend Lillie accompanies her on this busy holiday.
As the Remnal region deifies Selene as the symbolic "Goddess of Battle", however, Lillie realises just how wide the gap of power and popularity between her and Selene is. Anonymously joining the tournament on a whim, she fights to not drown in the shadow of the person she loves most.
Meanwhile, Selene struggles with work and maintaining her flawless image despite her imposter syndrome. Worse still, a fanatical group calling itself "Team Lumina" has set its eyes on Selene, worshipping her as a herald of Arceus.
Two lovers, both thinking themselves lesser than the other, fight battles inside and out to prove their own worth. A confrontation becomes inevitable – but only one can come out on top.

The scientific method doesn't exactly mix well with vacation, but hey, at least they get to make some new friends!
