That day, people cheered and celebrated in the streets. Alcohol flowed freely, and everyone was in high spirits. Wei Wuxian couldn’t get away from the ruckus if he tried. It was as though when Lan Wangji ascended, so did everyone who heard the news.
In Wei Wuxian’s mind, it had been a foregone conclusion. If anyone in his generation was going to cultivate to such a level, it could only be Lan Wangji. There was no one else so righteous, so deserving, so powerful.
Why then, didn’t Wei Wuxian feel much like celebrating when he heard the news?

“Wei WuXian,” my tone came out harsher than I intended. His downcast eyes flitted around the ground between us before he took a few steps forward. This time I couldn’t bring myself to retreat.
"We don’t have to be like before," His voice wavered. "I just—I miss you so much. Seeing you again…I don’t think I can bear to be without you anymore."
I let him pull me into a hug, his cries threatening to free my own. I closed my eyes, collecting myself before pushing him off of me gently. Meeting his eyes, I whispered, "It'll pass." -

The Juniors love their dads/uncles more than anything, however learning of the pains they went through in the past was heartbreaking.
Jiang Cheng and Wei WuXian don’t have the same bond they use too, Lan WangJi and Lan XiChen have trouble communicating properly after that night in the temple.
Nie HuaiSang and Wen Ning can nolong be lovers in public because of his death and Huaisangs status as New chief cultivator. Jiang Cheng is mad at Lan XiChen because he thinks Lan XiChen loves Jin GuangYao enough to go into Seclusion for him.It hurts their heart to see their family fall apart.
One day during a night hunt they entered a cave, met a divine being without knowing it and came out on the other end in the past.
Their new mission changes the future for their family.

Summary
Because of her talent Jiang Fengmian she was sented to Gusu to learn, to the bowman competion in Qishan and catches Nie Mingjue's eye and volunteered to the Wen training camp. At the massacre of Yunmeng Jiang she bravely fights but she goes with Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian to protect them. She distracts the Wens from them so she ends up in Yunmeng, beaten up and loses her golden core.
After gather strength they fight for revenge, for themselves. They get noticed by other clans for their braveness as they rosed up from the ashes. Nie Mingjue recognize her from the past. He starts to learn about her but she got captured by the Wens and was held captive by them for nearly a year. Nie Mingjue, the Jiangs and Wei Wuxian was looking for her but they only found her at the end of the Sunshot Campaign, completely broken and terrified.
After that they returned to Yunmeng Jiang and later she was sent to the Impure Realm to marry Nie Mingjue so she can protect the remaining Wens, but maybe there are other reasons...
