Summary
Cathy doesn’t look at Adam as she pulls the handles of Phil’s bag for life in opposite directions. She waits, feeling the struggle and then the surrender, and tips Adam’s body into a ditch. Brian is spouting nonsense about the trees watching them, surrounding them, but Cathy knows better. No one sees her cover Adam’s body with leaves and a broken tree trunk. No one sees her drag Brian back to the others by his hood.
No one, but Adam.
