A re-written version of my original DC Comics AU "The Man Who Murdered Batman" originally posted in August of 2022.
Keeping in mind that this AU is rather non-Canon, and The Batman is in fact DEAD!Some of the characters may be written pretty OOC but I'm hoping to keep it pretty accurate to them nonetheless, however Joker will be written VERY OOC.

When Batman nearly dies facing a new foe who blames him for the death of his family, the Joker takes it upon himself to heal him and track down his Bat’s attacker. But as Batman slowly recovers he begins to realize that Batman’s long time love for him might be more than a mad obsession.

Ghostly white fingers traced over his bats lips as his hands glided over his face until they reached the bottom of the cowl, slowly pushing it up off his face.
“ let’s see what we are hiding under here”
He hummed to himself and bit his lip in anticipation as the mask slid up his face partially revealing part of the other man’s nose and cheeks. However joker had mistakenly savoured this moment taking in every single detailing of this man’s face, caressing every single inch with unsettling care oblivious to the fact that the other man had begun to stir underneath him.
Suddenly two hands latched onto the jokers own and pulled him viciously off the cowl, Joker grunted in annoyance and tried to lung for the cowl yet again trying to take advantage of Batman's slight disorientation however his action proved fruitless as the bat had already in one swift movement pulled down the mask concealing his identity completely once again before swatting the grabbing hands away once again
