With love laced into the ink Kaveh had long since stopped believing in, something beautiful finally begins to take shape once more.
It was too immaculate, really. The sleek countertops, glass partitions, and impossibly white walls gleamed under soft, ambient lighting like they’d never known the comfort of a chaos Kaveh had lived with his entire life. Every surface was made of the kind of material that rejected fingerprints and resisted clutter - sanitized, both physically and emotionally.
Though the district his new studio was in was posh and high-end, it was surprisingly devoid of a single decent coffee shop. Perhaps the elitist locals had never actually tasted good coffee and simply mistook bitterness in a designer cup for depth - much like their conversations.
So far, Kaveh had choked down three lattes and a macchiato that tasted like lukewarm regret with a splash of oat milk.

Alhaitham happened to be the first real guest of Kaveh's newly finished, long-awaited, personally designed house. The place glittered from floor to ceiling, with all the extravagance and elegance a wealthy architect could buy in the heart of the city.
But even then, some things never change. It couldn't escape Alhaitham's notice that the bathroom was chock full of his favourite products, or that the familiar aroma of sandalwood oudh permeated each room.
So when Kaveh, after a candlelit dinner, offered (asked) him to stay the night, despite the state of the unfurnished guest bedroom - which Alhaitham knew was missing even a modest mattress - it was as if a decade-long puzzle he was too scared to solve finally clicked into place.

Rationally, Kaveh shouldn’t ask Alhaitham if he wants Kaveh to help him. He really shouldn’t. Sex could ruin this peace treaty they have non-verbally contracted between them. Sex could mean things will get horribly, terribly awkward. Sex would mean that Kaveh would never be able to look at Alhaitham without thinking of the memory of Alhaitham’s hands all over his body.
“Have you really thought this through?” Alhaitham asks once again, and he hasn’t sounded this serious since his offer to house Kaveh so many moons ago.
“This is my fault, as you said. I should take responsibility.” Kaveh weakly replies, licking his lips nervously. “Right?”

Down on his luck and in debt, Kaveh is brought to Alhaitham's manor to provide him with blood in exchange for more time to pay off his debt. Turns out that being bitten by a vampire feels damn good.
Kaveh leans in and squints to get a better look at Alhaitham’s eyes. With Kaveh being so near, Alhaitham seizes the opportunity to inhale deeply and take a good whiff of Kaveh’s scent. Taken aback, Kaveh leans away from him.
Alhaitham lets out a satisfied hum and shuts his eyes wistfully as he leans into the couch, “Well, would you like to get this over with then? I’m hungry.”
“I still don’t know what’s going on or what you want from me,” Kaveh crawls away down the length of the couch. Why does he have to look so handsome while he says these strange things?
“I don’t know why Dori doesn’t just tell people what they’re in for; I think she gets a kick out of watching them squirm. Look–” Alhaitham opens his mouth wide to show off his fanged canine teeth, “you may take a second to come to terms with the fact that vampires are, in fact, real, and you have one that is very politely waiting for you to be ready to be his meal. Now, I don’t like to hurt people, but I do have to eat.” -

Kaveh is the head architect at a major firm, but when his wrists start cracking nonstop as he’s sketching out his designs in the office, his boss forces him to see a physical therapist. He reluctantly sets up an appointment with a doctor at a small clinic who, much to Kaveh’s chagrin, ends up being far more than he bargained for in every way possible.
“No designs, no sketching,” Alhaitham muttered exasperatedly. “Is my instruction that difficult to follow?”
Kaveh shot him a petulant glare. “Sorry, doctor - let me just call up the kids I'm building the orphanage for and tell them to get fucked because I'm too concerned about my limp ass wrists.”
Instead of getting annoyed at Kaveh's snappy tone, Alhaitham responded in equal measure, matching his snark with aggravating ease. “Sounds reasonable to me.”
