This is also posted as a series because it was originally meant to be read as vignettes in no particular order but I got carried away. It will still be posted as a series, but here is the best way to read it in chrono order for full effect and context.
This is a re-interpolation of Henry Danger, taking some of the implied politics of the canon seriously and earnestly exploring these characters at the intersections of gender, class, and exploitation.
The Unincorporated County of Swellview is a cultish autonomous community on the border of Oregon and California. These are the intertwining stories of those who see the worst of its brutality. Starting with Ray’s exploitation at the hands of his father we see the lengths Ray and, also Jake willing to go to protect Henry from the same.

Instead, he sees the kid he picked up five years ago, who used to leap into his arms and cling to him with reckless abandon, who never exclaimed “Captain Man!” without a huge grin on his face and excitement bubbling in his voice.

Henry finds himself trapped in a twisted mirror of his own world, ruled by a cruel version of Captain Man and haunted by the wreckage of what they used to be. To survive, he must play the part of his ruthless counterpart while searching for a way home, even as the lines between hero and monster start to blur.
This a play on the Opposite Universe (s2e13), but a much darker take. It additionally contains very toxic relationships and non-con elements. Please keep that in mind. If you are uncomfortable with the Henry/Ray pairing, just don't read it :)
