Summary
He could think about that later though, since right now the wind was screaming in his face and into his ears as he dropped faster and faster. A yowl tore itself from Kwazii’s mouth and was promptly snatched away by the wind, pure adrenaline and joy behind the sound. His ears flicked back on instinct and his tail straightened out behind him like an arrow, trying to reduce drag. Any scientists on the ground who said that sapients weren’t meant to have wings obviously did not know what they were talking about, since they had never seen any of the Aeronauts in flight.
For a secretive team of animals known as the Aeronauts, the above-clouds sky is home and nowhere is truly inaccessible. Life on a giant bird ship is never dull, whether it's avian creatures that need to be saved or more mundane things like "the mechanic fell asleep on the job again and fooled us all into thinking she died". But of course the Aeronauts are up here for a reason, and many of them have traumas that they'd much rather leave on the ground.
