Summary
“How is this week’s road trip going?” Caleb asks. He has been making subtle comments about Essek’s new-found friendship with the Mighty Nein, lately. It might be because he knows Essek has reasons to try to fix their relationship, or maybe just because it warms him up to see his friends spending time with his boyfriend.
“Quieter than expected,” Essek says. “How is your day going?”
He launches on a story about Jester almost burning down the curtains which barely makes sense to Essek, but it makes him smile. It is calming. Cute. “So now I have to clean the windows. I can’t wait until we can finally move in together.”
Essek wants to propose to Caleb, but his relationship with the Mighty Nein has been fragile ever since they discovered he was lying to them. He gets punched, soaked and thrown into a lake, but he fixes the relationship.
