Thousands of people every day say they saw a "demon standing over them in their sleep", and thousands of people every day are bullshitting grandeur instead of just admitting they had sleep paralysis and an intrusion of REM into their perceived wakefulness. Just a crop of people not getting good sleep who wouldn’t know a demon if it possessed them. Jin would’ve simply dismissed the claims if it hadn’t been for the emotion in her voice. The way she talked about everyone else.
So he looked into it. The woman hadn’t given her name, but she had given the name of her town. It was easy work to look up the obituary and see the corroboration laid before him. A crop of deaths so consistently timed, and so obviously concentrated in such a small town that any doubt in his mind was changed to a determination to get to the center of it all.
