“We all have feelings for our girlfriends,” Jane recounts with a sad little laugh, and Nymphia’s heart fucking drops. “We just don’t act on them.”
“Isn’t that fucked up? Isn’t that such a horrible existence?” Jane goes like it isn’t herself that she’s talking about, like it’s someone else’s gossip and she’s a mere bystander, like it isn't her own soul she’s scrutinizing. “Always wanting something you can’t have?”
“You can,” Nymphia says and it’s from somewhere deep inside herself, something speaking without permission. Something she couldn't stop if she tried. “You can have it.”
Jane looks up at Nymphia. Her eyes are wide and impossibly glassy, almost childlike, almost willing to believe in something like magic. She’s beautiful in the worst way - cruelly captivating, unforgivingly so. She blinks up at Nymphia and does what she does best - completely and utterly perplexes her.

“Where are you going?!”Dada just beamed as she walked towards the front door. What was she supposed to say? She just opened the door, turning back to see her roommates. She shook her head and shrugged helplessly, she couldn’t wipe the aching grin from her face as she said:
“Tia.” Like it was obvious, the easiest thing in the world, not what she had been avoiding. “I’m going back… I’m going to Tia.” And without another word, she was out the door. Dada ran to her car, hopping in as fast as she could and hitting shuffle on a playlist, Style (Taylor’s Version) played first. She pulled out the driveway, tires screeching.
At the same time, Tia walked out of her room, beaming at the floor, unable to meet the other girl's eyes.

Crystal was regular hot. This was quite problematic. Gigi can’t have a crush on her coworker, but she definitely did.

Yes, maybe with Jane it’s a little different because they’re dating, and maybe it has been a good few months, long enough where Nymphia sometimes thinks about wanting more, wanting something more committed– but none of that matters right now. The point is, she’d said it out of habit, and it doesn’t have to be any kind of big moment or confession. It doesn’t have to be a whole thing.
So, it’s good that Jane hadn’t taken it seriously.
