Summary
I wanted to actually put time into this summary, as it's been a good while since I felt so attached to a fanfiction. Whether that's because it's such a beloved series or because I actually had more originality than I thought I would while devising a plot for this, I'm not too sure. What I wanted to do in this space is give you a sort of introduction to the character I began to form for the reader. I decided to go with a goddess that hadn't made an appearance in the games, that way it allowed for more creativity around her. Something I could sorta put my own twist on. And as I started writing and piecing some things together out of sheer curiosity, I realized I could actually make this work more than I had originally intended.
This being a choice-based novel, where you as the reader can form a path for the main character insert, I decided to make this just a tad different from ones I've posted in the past. Focusing more on choices that shape your character rather than the actual story, it seems to allow for more...depth? And I was able to configure two separate ideas for two very different personalities while keeping the same character if that makes sense.

Heimdall has been slowly rotting away, slowly losing his mind in the lonesome solitude of his cell, still unreasonably devoted to his father despite the horrors Odin has submitted him to. He is determined to prove that he is loyal and that he will never betray his father.

It all feels wrong and conflicting, and yet he can't help himself when he's alone with either one.

Off on her own, Thrud does the unthinkable and finds a way into Midgard. The broken family she meets there gives her a second chance, a clean slate to try to be normal again.

This is a long story that aims to tackle areas of Norse mythology that the original games failed to explore fully. While the description appears very Atreus centric, this story is just as focused, if not more so, on the new gods and goddesses that have been introduced, all while featuring full designs and art of the characters present in the story.

Atreus had set up a dating profile for his father on this app, surely this wouldn't be mad about it right? He needed to live a little okay, it had been 7 years since the death of his mother and his father had been single ever since. He deserved to be happy and if that meant him setting his father up for a blind date then so be it.
Freyr had done the same, albeit for his sister. She had gotten out of a highly abusive 20 year relationship, well it had ended 5 years ago and surely she did need to live a little according to Freyr. So he set up this blind date for her. She wouldn't murder him for this, right?
However due to a big threat in Freya's life she has to seek safety, luckily Kratos is willing to take her in. Atreus is happy to have another person at home, not realising in how much danger Freya is.

Hi, this is a redo of what was an ongoing work. I'm sorry to do this but I genuinely hate how I rushed the time in Asgard and everything so I deleted it and now I'm starting a new.
It's okay if you don't want to read it because you already know what happens, I hope you do though since I'm going to put every single drop of my creativity and growing skill as a writer into this redo.
I love Heimdall as a character and that fanfic was bullshit. I have a set out plan for this now because before I was writing as I go along and that is no way to do this.
