Summary
He’s speeding down the street and veering through traffic and lights to get to Buck in time. He thinks the worst, and his racing thoughts cause tears to stream down his face. He’s quick to wipe them away, though, so they don’t cloud his vision as he speeds to the apartment. Eddie continues to beat himself up, knowing this is all his fault, and partially the fault of the rest of their team, but mostly his own. His best friend needed him, and Eddie was too busy letting out his anger to notice his best friend sinking further down the rabbit hole of depression and guilt.
Or... Eddie finds a questionable voicemail from Buck and thinks the absolute worst and rushes over to stop his friend from doing the unthinkable. Will he make it in time? And if he does, will Buck come back to the golden retriever he once was, or will his insecurities get the best of him?

Summary
"Wait. Hold on."
Eddie snaps the bedside lamp back on. Buck looks at him questioningly.
"Buck - " Eddie doesn't want to pry or embarrass Buck. He just can't keep going like everything is fine and he hasn't seen. He makes his voice as gentle as possible.
" - what are these?"
He slowly reaches out and places a hand on Buck's thigh. Right over the rows of cuts that Eddie's never seen before. They're on both legs and some look older than others. Lines overlapping, some crisscrossing, but most in straight even little lines. They're organized.
They're intentional.
-----*OR*----
Buck and Eddie have been dating for a few months and have a nice romantic evening out. When they return to the loft, Eddie discovers the real reason why Buck always insists on having sex with the lights off. Feelings and heart-to-heart conversations happen. The first 2 chapters are mainly feelings, but the 3rd chapter will be smut.

Summary
The gentle knock on his front door surprises Eddie, although it probably shouldn’t have. There’s only one person who would be showing up unannounced at this hour, though even after all these weeks Eddie still somehow expected Buck to just barge in.
That’s how he showed up in Eddie’s life the first time at least – knocked down all of Eddie’s walls and made himself at home without a second thought. Or maybe it was subtler than that – Buck oozing through all the cracks in Eddie’s defenses until he took up so much space that it left Eddie hollowed out and unsteady when he ripped himself back out.

Buck comes over to Eddie's after the rage room, after Eddie's fight in 3x05. They don't talk about the lawsuit (or much at all).

Summary
“Shit, shit, shit,” he cursed as he gripped the wrist of his injured hand, holding it above his heart. The cut wasn’t massive and, by design, not something you could stitch, but that didn’t make it any less messy or risky.
The blood thinners were not his friend right now.
A singular river of red trailed down his forearm to his elbow, then dripped onto the floor, leaving little splatters that his shoes soon smeared against the tile.
“Towel, towel, towel,” he said, spinning on his heel, gaze raking the room frantically. “Fuck—shit, there you are.”
Buck wanted fajitas, so he went to the store for the sweet onions he needed, but he got the wrong kind because he unexpectedly ran into the team, which had nothing to do with why he was crying in his kitchen--obviously, the shitty onions were to blame.
And his day just gets worse from there--as he ends up fileting off a strip of skin, bleeding everywhere, then accidentally hitting his talk-to-text and sending a ramble he never meant anyone to hear to the last person on earth to care: Eddie.

Five Alarm Fest Day 1 - Coda or Missing Scene
Eddie’s hands shake as he wraps his knuckles. It makes the whole process trickier than it needs to be, but that seems to be his thing tonight. He brushed his teeth twice and he can still taste blood lingering on the back of his tongue. An hour ago, he was on top of the world. Now he shakes alone in his bathroom, wondering if all the things he packed away after Afghanistan didn’t actually disappear like he hoped they would.
A knock comes from the front door, pulling Eddie from his head just as he finishes wrapping his second hand. He puts the bandages down on the sink, frowning as he turns toward the sound. Christopher’s meant to be at Abuela’s until tomorrow morning, everyone from the station should be at that rage room thing, and anyway, the only one who would come over this late would be—
Eddie’s jaw clenches. Doesn’t matter. Not like he would come over now anyway.
