Summary
Sebastian Sallow remembers little of his life. The Second Wizarding War. A mission that couldn't have gone worse and ended up with him being captured and tortured by Voldemort's people, barely escaping. Three years later, he's now a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts. The ghosts of the past still haunt him, but he has managed to build a quiet life and redeem himself for a past he still cannot face. A surprise visit is what forces Sallow to confront all the demons he's kept buried. Harry Potter and Charles Alderon now need his help to stand against the Legacy, a group born in the aftermath of Voldemort's fall and that seeks to carry on his ideals, their growing power threatening not only the Wizarding World, but the Muggle one as well. The very same group he faced a year before it was officially formed. The people who left him broken and condemned to live as a ghost of himself. The only ones who can give him the answers he has been searching for. Trapped between his duty to help stop a global threat and his need to close the vicious cycle that has tormented him for years, Sebastian Sallow is left with one single goal to end it all: Seren Vervain, the one who might be his answer.

He breathed, squeezing his eyes shut. Hot tears cascaded down his pink cheeks as he tried to recall memories of his family. He couldn't turn back time to save his parents, but the least he could do was save Anne.

My throat tightened, but the word came, fragile and certain all at once. "No."
