Two days after they failed to defeat Vecna, after Max died and came back, after Eddie died—and didn’t. Two days after they were forced to leave his body behind in the Upside Down because everything had gone to shit, a bright yellow pizza delivery van that looked like it’d been through its own apocalypse pulled into the Wheeler's driveway.
Jonathan, Mike, Will, and El finally made it home to Hawkins with the help of a friend.
On day three, Max woke up.
She’d have a long road to recovery, but the doctors seemed fairly confident she’d walk again. Though, no one could be sure how much of her eyesight would return, if any. The same day, in a twist no one saw coming, Joyce showed up, fresh off a plane from Alaska after escaping Russia—yes, Russia—with a miraculously alive and mostly well Jim Hopper.
And four days after the world both did and didn’t end, the ghost of Eddie Munson appeared in Steve’s living room.

Few places had seen death like Hawkins, so it was no surprise to anyone that the entire town was, for lack of a better term, haunted.

Vecna is dead, and the inhabitant's of the ever-shrinking Hawkins are recovering from their encounter with another dimension...a dimension that is only one of many.Eddie knew that there had to be more out there if the Upside Down was a thing, but he never expected his uncle to be hiding a plethora of secrets - secrets about a family business Eddie never knew about.
Steve should really not be surprised by anything anymore, especially not an extensive network and subculture of monster hunters. Hell, he himself is a monster hunter at this point, isn't he?
(A very self-indulgent Hunters AU/ Supernatural AU of sorts, but it is not really a crossover I promise. I just really miss the season 1-4 worldbuilding that spn had going on)

Billy dies but he's not gone, he spends most of his time haunting Steve.

He watches Billy out of his peripheral, "That's right pretty boy get comfortable." The whisper because it is always a whisper no matter how loud a ghost gets, has heat pooling in his belly and staining his cheeks. It makes Steve feel bold, has him doing something he never does.
Steve usually strips his clothes off in the bathroom right before he hops in the shower but it is not as if his parents are home anyhow so he starts stripping right here. Steve pulls his shirt up over his head biting his lip to keep from smiling when Billy groans stroking himself faster. He turns, tossing his shirt toward the laundry basket and frowning when he misses it by a whole foot.
Billy gives a laugh and Steve pouts thinking about just leaving him to it. “Now strip the rest for me, pretty boy.” Billy does not know he can hear him and Steve certainly does not have to follow his order but he wants to.
