[Of possessions and jealousy and affection]
Not only do Cicero's letters reveal more about him than intended, but so does his behaviour. At least when it's about Tiro; at least when you can look at it from the outside.
Hear the thoughts of different members and friends of the family about the relationship (servitude? friendship?? romance???) between our esteemed orator and his faithful amanuensis across the decades, be it in Cicero's golden days or in his darkest hours (at least some of them)!
And in the end, even Cicero cannot escape some self-reflective pondering, about what ties he has to Tiro and why he is so hesitant to serve them, in terms of slavery and manumission

Summary
The trial of Gaius Verres. The disgraced former praetor of Sicily. Embezzler, thief, blasphemer.
It was to be the trial of the century, redefining the senate's response to corruption and crime.
And who was heading this rally against the symbol of senatorial greed? Why, Marcus Tullius Cicero, of course.
Going up against the oratorial powerhouse of Hortensius and the criminal guile of Gaius Verres was all worth it for the joy it brought the Roman people (and for the fat pile of money Cicero would get if he won).
Crime, corruption, love, and hate.
Is the case worth the cost to those involved?
