Summary
Millenia ago, the Noblesse sentenced and severed every last noble contractor with humans when the Lord decreed contracts outlawed. Now, he has taken fancy to a human himself, offering him endless liberties and protections. The hypocrisy is maddening. Lukedonia has lost their faith in their Noblesse. As nobles go missing from outside of Lukedonia once again, the Noblesse will do something unprecedented: he will leave the island to investigate.
Of course, he takes his little pet human with him.
No one has heard from him since.

And now, Frankenstein was grieving, Raizel realized. He was mourning the child that Raizel had been once, mourning the suffering that Raizel had once endured, in such a way that Raizel didn’t think he ever had himself. Grief, sorrow, regret, guilt, these foreign emotions mixed and turned in ways that Raizel couldn’t understand, couldn’t define. He had always been taught that he wasn’t allowed to feel any of those things. And he didn’t understand when Frankenstein felt them, couldn’t make out which was which, nothing identifiable in the fog besides a heavy, unpleasant darkness that clung uncomfortably to the skin.
What was it like, to embrace one’s feelings so openly…? If Raizel tried it… would he feel better? Would he feel more like himself?
Frankenstein had never suffered for lack of identity— if anything, he had too many. Servant, friend, partner, teacher, warrior, scientist, doctor. But Cadis Etrama di Raizel didn’t know who he was outside the Noblesse. Who was the person called ‘Raizel?’ Who was the person Frankenstein called ‘Master?’
He didn’t know.

“Have— Have you ever thought about... children?”
Raizel turns towards him, breaking his spell before the window, scarlet eyes searching him.
“You might…” Frankenstein struggles for a replacement for be less lonely. “...find more companionship. Life might be more fulfilling for you with a little one, Master.”
“...You ask me this because you love me. And you would like a child of your own.”
Frankenstein’s face flushes against his will. His Master had read him so easily, without even touching his mind. “Y-Y-Yes.”
“I can’t. My burden ends with me. I won’t subject another to my fate.”
Of course. Master is far too kind and noble for such a thing. But then...
Frankenstein takes a breath. “Master, please marry Lascrea then.”
“...What?”

Summary
As Raizel took the cup from his hands, Frankenstein reached out, gently trailing his hand down Raizel’s back and lingering at his waist. Such behavior was incredibly impudent and had the potential to go over terribly. But indeed, Frankenstein’s watchful eyes did not miss the blush that rose to Raizel’s cheeks. Success.
But just as he was about to tease Raizel more boldly, the object of his affection stepped away from his touch, leaving Frankenstein’s hand suspended somewhat pathetically in the air.
“I decline,” said Raizel.
“Wh—?” It took all of Frankenstein’s effort to keep himself from making a sound of surprise. He carefully worked his expression from shock to a neutral calm. His mind was racing. He knew for sure this time he had been having an effect on Raizel. So why was he denying himself? Frankenstein swallowed, lowering his gaze, and tucked his hands remorsefully behind his back. “I apologize for my insolent behavior…”

Frankenstein is a gorgeous man of the night who isn't used to being turned down. He and Raizel resolve one misunderstanding just to get into another. How can Raizel get it through Frankenstein's stubborn head that he loves him for who he is?

Frankenstein was more than happy to make a new contract with his Master after he returned from death, and he tried not to think about the fact that he would have to be the Contractor and Raizel the Contractee as he took a drop of Raizel's blood. He couldn’t prevent his stutter as he spoke the ritual words. “C-Cadis Etrama di Raizel. W-We have entered into a Contract of the Soul… do you accept?”
Raizel smiled, gentle and sweet. He spoke without hesitation. “Yes, Master.”
“....!!!” That was it, Frankenstein’s life was over. He almost had a heart attack then and there.
Then Raizel put a hand over his mouth to hide his smile. “Frankenstein, it is customary for me to kneel now.”
“No! No, Master, please…”

After Raizel returns from death, Frankenstein and Raizel make a new contract, but Frankenstein has to be the Contractor.

There were really not enough words to describe how terribly ill Raizel looked. He was whiter than the linens, his skin utterly bereft of warmth and color. His entire body trembled violently and hadn’t stopped once over the past hour. His scarlet eyes were deeply haggard, shadows haunting the space underneath, his brow permanently creased in pain. His chest heaved with every shaking breath. Perhaps the most simple words were the best suited for the truth. Raizel was dying.
“F-Frankenstein.”
“Yes, Master?” asked Frankenstein, his voice heavy.
“I am sorry. I need your help.”
“Anything, Master.”
Raizel looked exhausted from speaking, but he forced himself to continue. “Please help me put my affairs in order.”

Raizel is dying. Everyone is taking it hard, but Frankenstein most of all.

“You feeling all right, Boss?” chirped Tao as he tapped away on his digital notepad. Frankenstein made a vaguely annoyed sound from the pile of blankets he was under. It was the day after the full moon, so Frankenstein was bedbound from anemia after giving his blood to Raizel, and he was frustrated about it. Of course he didn’t regret it, but he just had too much work to do to waste time lying around in bed.
“I’ll take that as a no,” said Tao, nonplussed.
“Obviously,” grumbled Frankenstein.
“You know, I was wondering if there was a better way to do this,” continued Tao, handing his digital notepad to Frankenstein, who reluctantly emerged from his blankets to look at it.

As he slowly came to, he tried to move his arm only to hear the heavy clank of metal. He became acutely aware of the thick chains binding his arms, feeling the sharp sting as they dug into his wrists. Frankenstein knew he was dreaming. But the very worst part of all…
Dark Spear taunted him with the image of his Master. It was cruel and blasphemous, and a poor imitation to boot; his features shifted and warped in the dim light, composed only of memory, and his eyes could only be a dull but jarring violet, never their usual scarlet. But it was the image of him all the same, and Frankenstein’s traitorous heart skipped a beat seeing the instrument in those shadowy fingers. The ghost of Raizel held the thick leather handle with practiced ease, the nine plaited leather cords draping on the floor, the knotted ends promising a cruel fate.

They had, although since it had only been two months for M-21 and one for the others, they hadn’t really put much thought into it. But as soon as Frankenstein pointed it out, it became obvious. Sir Raizel genuinely loved attending school and for him to not go had to be something serious, and the same for Frankenstein to neglect work.
