It was hard to breath. Every time she closed her eyes, every time she blinked, she saw John B drowning and Topper with a gun to his head. One wrong move, one more second and—
"Stop!" she yelled suddenly, surprising the driver, her brother, that turned the steering wheel roughly to the side. Thankfully, there was no one else on the road home "Stop the car!"
"No fucking way" Rafe answered "I wanna go home"
"I need to get out! I can't breathe!" She unbuckled her seatbelt and threw herself against the steering wheel, trying to force her brother to pull over "Stop!"
Rafe hit the brakes suddenly, so suddenly her face hit the wheel with a dry sound. The pain was shallow, and so she could open the car door and run outside to breathe.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" Rafe appeared in front of her, grabbing her shoulders roughly, fingers digging into her flesh, and shaking her "You could've killed us! You fucking brat"

I love JJ and Sarah’s friendship and the fact that he saved her and her baby from drowning while his own mom died “drowned with her baby” is insane to me and I wish they had explored it more and shown us how they survived and how they managed to find the others."Here we are!!! a VERY long fic about how JJ and Sarah survived the storm in 4x09, and how they eventually got back to The Pogues.

I hope this is ok!! I wrote it while incredibly sleep deprived 😭 also, I kinda made the ending a fluff Sarah and JJ moment as I feel like they deserved it. hope that's alright.
