Summary
When Garth asked Jason what phrases he wanted translated, the mer hunched down in the water and blew furious bubbles before huffing, “No.”
Garth frowned. You already know how to say that. What other things do you need to be able to say to Bruce and Alfred?
Of the speech, Bruce recognized his name and maybe Alfred’s. It made it feel like something was clawing inside his chest, knowing that he couldn’t communicate properly with this child living in his pool.
Jason curled his lip back. I know human words.
You really don’t.

Summary
Jason considered this. This was going to be the rest of his life. Medication three times a day, IV fluids once a week, constantly being tired to some degree no matter how much he slept. His head felt heavy and fuzzy, like his skull had been stuffed with cotton wool. Not to mention he would have to eat more salt- though he'd already been eating more salt than normal anyway- and the emergency injection kit he now had to keep on him at all times.

Summary
this is a podfic of Bedrotten by AlexaAffect
He glanced back toward Bruce, who now had an arm wrapped around the woman’s waist. When Bruce leaned in to kiss her cheek, the sudden burst of nausea surprised Jason.
Now, it wasn’t unusual for him to be revolted by his father’s antics. It was, however, unusual for Jason to have an actual physical reaction.
He swallowed heavily, wincing when it did nothing to relieve the steadily rising queasiness. A glance toward his empty glass didn’t solve the mystery either.
He’d had remarkably little to drink that night. Especially if you took into consideration that Jason was here against his will!
A nicotine flash then? Also no; he’d barely smoked half a cigarette.
His speculation about the cause of his uneasiness did nothing to relieve it.
Jason swallowed again, trying to fight back the discomfort. It was to no avail. Before he could steal the attention away from his father by doing something equally stupid, like throwing up in the middle of a ballroom, Jason fled.
Or alternatively; Jason gets poisoned during a gala and is bedridden. He isn't left alone for a second of it.

Summary
“...Tim?” Jason pauses in his rant, waving a hand across Tim’s gaze. Tim blinks and looks up to see Jason’s concerned expression. “You okay, dude? You haven’t eaten anything, and lunch is almost over.”
“Huh?” Tim looks at his phone to check the time and yup, lunch will be over in three minutes. Tim can’t quite manage to feel upset, though. The thought of eating anything makes him want to puke; even Alfred’s famous cuisine.
Jason grimaces. “I was trying not to be rude before, but you look like death, Timbo.”

Summary
“Oh God, Jason!” Someone was next to him now, touching his face, his wrist. Everywhere he touched burned and ached. Jason wished he’d stop.
He pulled the blanket off Jason and finally, finally Jason could make a noise. It was a scream of protest and pain, but it was so quiet that the man didn’t even acknowledge it.
“Pick up the phone Leslie. Leslie! No, don’t hang up, please. I’m begging you. I have a young boy here, he needs your help. No, he can’t go to a hospital. They’d take him away immediately and he’d never trust me again. Of course I’m serious! He’d disappear into the system and I’d never find him again. Please. I need your help. He has to live. I can’t let him die, I won’t let him die!”

Jason Todd's been living on the streets for years, and he's perfectly fine with that, thank you very much. Bruce Wayne is still reeling from the death of his
sonsidekick Tim Drake and will not allow another young boy to die.Series

Summary
“Dickface, what the fuck are you doing?”
He barely reacts to the insult, slowly turning his head toward the sound of Jason’s voice, and Jason winces. His brother looks like death warmed over, eyes hollow with dark circles underneath them. His nose is pink, too, lips chapped and slightly parted like he’s breathing almost exclusively through his mouth. Which, Jason realizes, he probably is.

Jason's siblings are dumb. It's a shame he still cares about them.

“Where are you going, Tim?”
Freezing, Tim blue-screened. What was he supposed to say? Luckily for him, Bruce broke the small silence himself.
“Sorry, Tim. My bad. When one of the boys is sick, I usually take the other with me to the office. You couldn’t have known this,” the man gently explained.
Tim’s eyebrows rose. Which parent willingly took their children to work?

Summary
On the fourth day, it becomes clear that Joe is organizing something—more muscle than usual, a few more Black Mask affiliates than there should be. The few glimpses of Joe that Dick gets, he’s on his phone, speaking rapidly and gesturing emphatically.
On the fifth day, everything is quiet. No one comes, no one goes.
On the sixth day, Tim calls Dick: they’re not sure where Jason is. And yeah, maybe that’s just normal, and they’re not panicking yet. But they’re not sure where he is. And they’re about to start looking.
And on the seventh day, Bruce shows up at his door with Jason standing next to him, pale and hacking out a cough, putting too much weight on Bruce’s shoulder, and says: “I need to ask you a favor.”
OR
Dick is supposed to be on a boring stakeout assignment. Jason complicates that.
OR
“I’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU.” “IT’S ROTTEN WORK.” “NOT TO ME. NOT IF IT’S YOU.”

Summary
Tim’s pretty sure that Jason hates him.
Granted, Jason hadn’t seemed to hate him yesterday and Tim has no idea what he did to cause Jason to come to this conclusion today— (and it’s not like Tim hasn’t been racking his brain for the answer to that very question ever since he woke up)— but the signs have been there all morning and the signs never lie. The sullen mood, the closed-off body language, the vague grunts and one-word responses to Tim’s few attempts at conversation… they all point to a singular conclusion.
Jason has finally gotten sick of him.
---
Or, Jason starts acting weird while both Bruce and Alfred are out of town, and it dredges up some stuff for Tim.
Luckily, he’s still got one big brother left he can call.

Summary
As it turned out, Jason had both the flu and strep throat. He called Leslie and reported the results, and she had given him lots of instructions:
1.) Keep his fever down.
2.) Make sure he stays hydrated, even if that means starting IV fluids.
3.) Give him meds around the clock.
4.) If he has more than one seizure in twenty-four hours or gets sick to the point of being unable to tolerate his seizure meds, take him to the hospital.
Dick really hoped number four never became necessary.
