Summary
It’s been months since disaster struck inside the Black Family home—since everything fell apart.
Now, Regulus is on his way to, what he can confidently say is a “disaster in the making”; one, that even he believes won’t last. After the last several homes collapsing, he’s just about given up on finding, what his social worker likes to call “his forever home”.
But, at some point, he starts to believe, finding his “forever home” doesn’t quite exist. Can you even blame him?

Regulus and James are finally settling into the fragile rhythm of their “maybe”, secret kisses in storage closets, stolen moments between classes, and the electric joy of wanting someone they’re not sure they’re allowed to have. Things are messy and careful and sweet, right up until Sirius Black overhears one single, catastrophically incriminating line and immediately launches into a full-volume breakdown in the middle of the corridor.
What follows is pure chaos, Sirius screaming, James panicking, Regulus threatening to flee the country, and Remus forcibly herding all three of them into a classroom for a Very Serious Relationship Intervention. Wolfstar are together (and thriving), Sirius’ protective big brother instincts go nuclear, and James and Regulus try to explain their not-quite-a-relationship to an audience that absolutely wasn’t supposed to find out yet.
Long kisses, accidental hickeys, sibling drama, found-family softness, and a very tired Remus Lupin trying to mediate four emotionally unstable boys at once.

The morning after their secretly emotional night together, Regulus is determined to pretend everything is normal. His plate is “accidentally” already empty, his posture is perfect, and he refuses to look at James Potter for more than half a second. Unfortunately for him, James has absolutely no ability to act normal under any circumstances, let alone in the Great Hall while desperately trying to confirm that Regulus has eaten something.
While James stares holes through the Slytherin table, Sirius tries (and fails) to figure out what is wrong with his best friend, Remus quietly manages Sirius’s own lingering eating struggles with practiced gentleness, and Regulus fights to appear composed while sneaking the smallest grape in history past his inner critics.
Across the room, gazes meet, breaths hitch, toast is reluctantly eaten, and nothing is said out loud, but everything is said in silence.
It’s a breakfast full of tension, healing, soft moments, and James Potter being the least subtle human being alive.

A couple of days after Remus helped Sirius through his breakdown, things aren’t magically better.
Sirius wakes up shaky, hollow, and hating himself for still struggling. He keeps trying to be “fine,” but every little thing, his reflection, his clothes, the way his hair sits, sets off another wave of panic. Remus stays with him through all of it: grounding him, brushing his hair back, telling him it’s okay to have bad days, and reminding him that being “pretty” doesn’t fix trauma.
Healing isn’t linear… but Sirius isn’t facing it alone anymore.
